Chapter 63 Mushroom Picking

Liu Anran took a few steps back and said to the black dog, "Don't keep staring at me, it's creepy."

The black dog kept staring at Liu Anran without moving an inch.

Holy crap! Do dogs have mute abilities too?

But I've never heard of a mute dog!

Could it be that she is ignorant and uninformed?

Lin Qinghuan ignored the black dog, picked up a wooden stick and waved it at the dog a few times, threatening, "Don't stare at me anymore, and don't follow me, or I'll smash your dog head in."

As Liu Anran left the pine forest, she had only taken a few steps when she saw the black dog following behind her. She tentatively took a few more steps, and the black dog followed. She stopped, and the black dog stopped.

Liu Anran was completely dumbfounded. Why was this damn dog following her like that? Was it hungry and wanted to eat her?

When Liu Anran thought about this, she felt terrible. They actually had their eyes on her meat! She wanted to eat braised dog meat! She didn't even want the meat of this dead dog.

That damn dog is so unkind!

Liu Anran took off running.

"Woof woof..." the black dog barked as it chased after Liu Anran.

Upon hearing the dog bark, Liu Anran cursed, "Damn it! So that damn black dog wasn't mute after all!"

Liu Anran ran for a while, then stopped and turned around to look at the black dog that was chasing her closely.

When the black dog saw Liu Anran stop, it also stopped and saw her.

Seeing that the black dog was only chasing her and not lunging at her, Liu Anran knew it meant no harm, so she stopped running and sat down on the ground.

He said to the black dog, slightly out of breath, "You should leave now! Don't follow me anymore. I not only have to support myself, but also my son. I don't have enough food to feed you."

"Woof woof woof..." The black dog barked at Liu Anran a few times.

Liu Anran waved at the black dog and said, "I don't speak dog language, so I don't know what you're howling about. You'd better leave and stop following me."

The black dog tilted its head and looked at Liu Anran, who inexplicably found it somewhat cute.

Liu Anran stood up and saw a dozen pine trees on the other side of the ditch. Looking up, she saw pine trees on the hillside, scattered here and there, looking lush and green, which was very pleasing to the eye. Perhaps there were pine fungi on the mountain.

Liu Anran took out a sickle and swung it at the black dog. The black dog, seeing the sharp sickle, took two steps back in fright. Seeing the black dog's reaction, Liu Anran smugly swung it a few more times. Little brat, how dare you scare her? Now I'll scare you, you dead dog!

The black dog retreated several steps, baring its teeth and howling at Liu Anran.

Liu Anran raised the sickle high, as if to throw it away, and the black dog ran away with its tail between its legs.

Liu Anran smiled as she walked across the ditch and came to the opposite hillside. As soon as she got close to the pine tree, she saw a purple pine mushroom. She gently pried open the pine needles around the purple pine mushroom with a sickle, and four tiny purple pine mushrooms, each the size of a copper coin, appeared before her eyes.

Liu Anran was overjoyed, her lips curving upwards involuntarily. She picked the pine mushrooms, looked at the pine tree in front of her, and had a flash of inspiration. She put the pine tree into her spatial storage, and the pine tree disappeared, leaving a large pit in front of her.

My goodness! She can even store trees in her spatial dimension; her spatial dimension is amazing!

Liu Anran thoroughly searched the area around the ten pine trees and had a good harvest, collecting about a pound of pine mushrooms. She stored the mushrooms from the dozen or so pine trees into her spatial storage. If pine trees could also grow pine mushrooms in her spatial storage, then she and Yunlong would have an endless supply of mushrooms to eat in the future.

Liu Anran felt a surge of joy at the thought and began to hum a little tune.

A rustling sound came from not far away, and Liu Anran's heart jumped. She hurriedly looked in the direction of the sound, and then her heart, which had been hanging in suspense, was put at ease.

"You damn dog, why are you following me again?" Liu Anran said helplessly.

The black dog barked softly a few times, panting with its tongue lolling out.

Liu Anran thought the black dog was probably too lonely, so it would follow people around. He ignored it and continued picking mushrooms. After about two hours, he had picked about two pounds of pine mushrooms.

Suddenly, the black dog started barking. Liu Anran noticed that the dog's voice sounded strange, so she quickly looked over and saw an elderly zombie wearing a funeral shroud, covered in mud, with sparse hair, sunken eyes, and a blank expression walking towards her.

Liu Anran was stunned when she saw the funeral clothes on the zombie!

This...this can't be a zombie crawling out of a grave, can it?

Holy crap! This is incredible! If even the dead in their graves were to crawl out...?

Liu Anran felt a chill run down her spine and her heart trembled at the thought!

Liu Anran put away her sickle, took out a dagger, and walked towards the zombie. As soon as she got close to the zombie, she dodged the zombie's outstretched hand, quickly stabbed the dagger into the zombie's head, pulled it out quickly, and kicked the zombie to the ground.

Liu Anran looked at the zombie on the ground, then squatted down thoughtfully. She used her dagger to pry open the zombie's mouth, examined its teeth, and then looked at its hands. She realized it was just an ordinary zombie, not a ghoul, and her tense expression relaxed.

There are zombies dressed in funeral clothes here, so there must be a village nearby.

Liu Anran dug open the zombie's head but found no crystal core. She then climbed towards the mountaintop, with the black dog following behind her. The two of them climbed to the top of the mountain.

Liu Anran was panting heavily and sat down on the ground, looking at the opposite hillside. She could vaguely see dozens of households living on the mountain, and her eyes showed surprise. She wondered if there was anyone left in the village.

Liu Anran kept her eyes fixed on the village across the way. She had nowhere else to go, so perhaps the village was a good place to go.

Liu Anran looked at the black dog lying not far away and tossed a rice ball in front of it. The black dog sniffed it and began to wolf it down. Liu Anran could tell from the way the black dog ate that it was starving.

Leaning against the rock, a gentle breeze ruffled her hair as Liu Anran closed her eyes contentedly, enjoying a rare moment of peace!

The black dog lay on the ground, resting with its eyes closed. The man and the dog did not interfere with each other, yet they were remarkably harmonious.

Suddenly, the black dog's ears perked up, its nose twitched, and then it stood up, took a few steps forward, and barked fiercely.

Liu Anran suddenly opened her eyes, her face wary. She stood up and walked towards the black dog. The black dog glanced at Liu Anran, then looked ahead and continued barking down the mountain.

Liu Anran approached the black dog and looked down the mountain. Her expression changed drastically, a chill ran down her spine, and she couldn't help but take two steps back.
