Chapter 8: Though tired, I am full of energy.

Lin Chaodong and Lin Chaonan, who had been playing the fool for half a day, finally breathed a sigh of relief.

With so many aunties, grandmas, and grandmothers around, they didn't dare to show their presence at all except for the initial greeting, for fear of being called out by an elder and having that scene at the spring repeat itself.

spring?

Oh, right, fourth brother!

The two brothers finally remembered their younger brother. The eldest brother, Lin Chaodong, helped Yue Jiuyue carry home the grass that she had dug up, which she didn't know was either weeds or medicinal herbs. The third brother, Lin Chaonan, went to the spring to check on the fourth brother, Lin Chaobei.

At the spring, villagers were still queuing up in a long line to fetch water. They didn't go home for lunch just because it was noon. Instead, they tightened their belts, thinking that they could save their families a meal if they could.

Lin Chaobei and his group had eaten breakfast before they arrived, so they were at the very back of the line. It had been half a day, and there were still several people ahead of them!

"Third brother, how is Mother?"

Lin Chaobei assumed that his two older brothers had finally managed to persuade their mother to come home, and that she was late because she wouldn't listen to reason. He even left his eldest brother behind to continue persuading their mother, without suspecting that his two older brothers might be slacking off.

"Our mother is alright."

Lin Chaonan didn't give a detailed explanation because he felt that his mother's approach was unreliable, and there were too many people around to talk about it. If someone overheard them, they would probably become a laughing stock again.

Seeing that his third brother didn't want to say more, Lin Chaobei didn't ask any more questions. He was also hungry and thirsty and didn't want to talk, so he quietly continued to queue until it was their turn.

The wild vegetables that the three brothers had picked while queuing were still at Lin Chaobei's place, so lunch was a little late today. They didn't start cooking until they carried water home, when everyone else had already finished their lunch.

While cooking, Liu cried as she cooked. Hearing the sound of her blowing her nose again and again, Yue Jiuyue felt that she couldn't eat this meal no matter what.

"I'm tired. You can have lunch by yourself. Don't call me. I'm going to take a nap first."

After saying that, Yue Jiuyue closed the door and went to lie down on the bed.

Sleeping was out of the question. Although she felt tired, she was full of energy. She sat on the bed, leaned against the blanket, and started counting.

Copper coins redeemed in the 2023 Mall.

One, ten, hundred, thousand...

It hasn't broken 10,000 yet.

It was only a little over four taels of silver.

Of course, this number is not small, considering it's only the result of one morning's work.

Yue Jiuyue looked happily at her balance in the online store and began browsing the products.

Earning money is for spending, for filling your stomach.

Yue Jiuyue, who was already starving, went straight for the food.

Staple foods include steamed buns, dumplings, noodles, stuffed pancakes, and pancakes...

There are even more dishes, after all, the eight major cuisines alone have 6,744 dishes.

In the end, she didn't even dare to buy vegetable buns, for fear that the smell of vegetable buns would spread and she wouldn't be able to explain it. So she bought a steamed bun that was bigger than her head, which cost her three coins!

Don't blame her for being selfish; this family is dirt poor. What's with her suddenly pulling out a big, plump white steamed bun? We'll have to sell the medicinal herbs and have a source of income first.

Moreover, she's still thinking about the division of the family property. If she's constantly surrounded by crying and wailing, she's bound to have a mental breakdown!

Also, she didn't want to see Liu blow her nose while cooking a second time, as it would ruin her appetite.
