Chapter 13 Seeing Through Sister Li (2/2)

She dipped the back of a spoon in lard and rubbed it onto the oval-shaped pancakes, coating only the center and leaving the edges uncovered. She greased only one of the two rows of pancakes, leaving the other uncoated.

After the shoes were painted with oil, she stacked them up in pairs, then pinched the edges into lace to fix them together.

Prepare the dough and grease the entire circle of the large pot. After heating, place the dough on the edge of the pot, covering the entire circle.

Not long after heating, the oval-shaped pancakes showed signs of swelling, and Su He hurriedly turned the pancakes over one by one.

When both sides were fried until slightly golden brown, she scooped one out and broke it open to see if it was cooked through inside.

Although her body has the muscle memory of the original owner and can cook, she rarely cooks in her later life. She either orders takeout or eats out.

This pocket pancake was also her first time making it.

I didn’t expect it, but I actually made it, and it’s pretty good.

She scooped the dough out of the pan and took another spoonful to make the pocket pancake.

Damao couldn't help but ask, "Mom, what kind of cake is this?"

Su He: "Da Mao, what does this cake look like to you?"

Da Mao paused for a moment and said, "Could it be called pocket cake?"

Su He: "My son is so smart! How can he be so smart! That's right, it's called pocket cake! Okay, the rice soup is ready, so we don't need to add any more firewood. Let's wait for the cake to cool down a little, then we can eat!"

Damao's face turned a little red. He responded and went out to wash his hands at the well.

"..." Su He didn't expect that this kid was only a few years old, but he felt embarrassed after being praised!

Su He used a spoon to put the egg sauce into the pocket pancake, and added a chopstick of cucumber shreds, making six in total. He filled a plate and stopped adding more.

Da Mao and Xiao Mao were both enjoying their lunch, and even Xiao Bao took a couple of bites of the biscuit and chewed it. Su He thought she was eating a teething biscuit. After all, Xiao Bao was still very young and only had six teeth, so she just scooped some of the porridge out of Xiao Bao's bowl.

Damao finished eating three pocket cakes and wanted to eat more, but was a little hesitant, so Mao ate two.

Seeing Damao's hesitation, Su He said, "Da Mao, don't eat when you're full. Don't try to be like someone with big eyes and a small stomach. You'll know when you feel uncomfortable!"

Only then did Damao stand up obediently.

Su He: "My sister is done eating too. Damao, take your brother and sister to the bedroom to play on the bed while mommy eats."

When Mao heard that his mother didn't ask him to help, he hurriedly said, "Mom, I want to play with my sister too. I will take care of my sister with my brother!"

Su He: "Hey, you two take care of your sister! Go, let's go outside to bask in the sun, don't go outside!"

After sending the three children away, Su He was finally able to have a peaceful meal.

It was the summer of August, and not only was the weather hot, but she had also spent the entire afternoon cooking in the kitchen with a fire burning, so she had no appetite anymore.

But there wasn't much oil and water these days, so the cold rice soup was just like water. It was fragrant, sweet, and very thirst-quenching! There was just one pocket cake left, so she ate it and didn't make another one.

There is still half a bowl of egg sauce left, half of the cucumber shreds left, and about ten opened pocket pancakes left. It seems that there is enough for dinner.

Su He put the leftover cakes and vegetables on the cupboard and closed the cupboard door.

She was sweating while cooking, and the rice washing water from noon was still in the washbasin. She took the soap, carried the washbasin to the well and washed her face. After washing, she wiped the sweat off her body with a woolen cloth.

The weather is so hot, and there is no place to take a shower. I can only take a quick shower in the dark at night. I don’t know when I can take a good shower again!

She had just poured out the water from the dish when someone knocked on the door again. This time, it was a little girl's voice: "Is Da Mao home? Do you want to come out and play?"

What Su He hates most is when someone interrupts her when she is about to apply skin care products.

She replied: "Da Mao has taken a nap. Come and play with him in the evening!"
