Chapter 97 Xu Hongrui's History of Turning to the Dark Side

He seemed to suddenly realize something, quickly got up and ran to the main entrance, where a blurry shadow was reflected on the iron gate.

"Open the door, it's me." Li Wenyang ran over, slightly out of breath.

"Oh, I'm here." Xu Hongrui hurriedly opened the door, then closed it again. "Should we call it a day? I'm not ready yet."

"What else do we need to prepare?" Li Wenyang asked with a smile, squeezing in an arm. "Don't you want to see me?"

"Yes," Xu Hongrui answered without hesitation, "but I'm still in my pajamas. Wait a minute while I go change."

“I can’t wait any longer,” Li Wenyang began to threaten. “Either let me in, or I’ll leave and never see you again tomorrow. You choose.”

"Are you angry?" Xu Hongrui's voice sounded somewhat helpless.

"Not yet, but I'll get angry if you keep dragging this on."

The door was suddenly opened, and Xu Hongrui, who was hiding behind the door, peeked out with half his head out.

Li Wenyang walked towards him. "What are you afraid of? Weren't we getting along quite well usually?"

Xu Hongrui took a step back, his expression timid, wanting to approach but not daring to.

"I'm not a ghost, what, am I supposed to eat you?" Li Wenyang said, hands on his hips, expressing his dissatisfaction.

Xu Hongrui finally came out and took small steps to take his hand. "I...I haven't seen anyone in a long time."

"Is there no one else in your family?"

“There was also a butler and my grandfather. My grandfather died, so only the butler is left,” Xu Hongrui said truthfully.

"I see." He knew that Xu Hongrui's parents were very busy and rarely came home to visit their son, sometimes only once a month.

It seems that it's because their son is useless, physically weak, and mentally ill. They've spent a lot of money but haven't been able to cure him. Any parent would be heartbroken and probably want to have a second child.

“I think you’re overthinking it. I’ve been living right next door to you and nothing’s happened to me.” Li Wenyang looked around the slightly old house. “A lot of the furniture is old. How about this?” Li Wenyang suggested, “I’ll sleep with you tonight. I’m a light sleeper, so I’ll wake up immediately if there’s any noise.”

"Okay." Xu Hongrui's face flushed slightly.

The two went to the bedroom one after the other. Xu Hongrui hugged his shoulders and fell asleep easily, with a sweet smile on his lips.

On the contrary, Li Wenyang couldn't sleep. He really felt that the room was gloomy and the furnishings were all wrong. There was such a big mirror on the bedside table. How could he not be scared?

Moreover, there were talismans and peach wood swords everywhere, as if there really were ghosts in the house.

This gives Hsu Hung-jui the psychological suggestion that there's a ghost in the house, and he should think twice before sleeping there.

In this situation, how could Hsu Hung-jui not have nightmares?

He didn't take it seriously, playing games until very late, and even with the lights off, nothing happened.

When he got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, someone suddenly hugged him. Xu Hongrui looked terrified and said, "Why did you leave me alone? I'm too scared to sleep."

Li Wenyang was urinating when he was startled and almost peed his pants. "I'm just going to the toilet, I'm not leaving." Li Wenyang patted his arm. "Don't be afraid, go to the bedroom and wait for me, it's awful cold at night."

The early summer breeze still carried a hint of chill, and the night was icy cold. Xu Hongrui didn't even put on shoes, still afraid that something might happen.

"I'll keep you company after I finish using the restroom."

"Um."

When he returned, Xu Hongrui was sleeping soundly, as if he had never woken up.

Li Wenyang shook his head. Sure enough, he had the mind of a child; he fell asleep as soon as he said he would.

Afterwards, he jokingly asked Xu Hongrui, "How did you fall asleep so quickly? I only went to the toilet for less than two minutes."

"What?" Xu Hongrui was completely dumbfounded.

Li Wenyang's heart skipped a beat. "It was yesterday, when I went to the bathroom you insisted on coming along, and I told you..."

“Wait…” Xu Hongrui interrupted him, “Did I get up yesterday?”

Did I get up yesterday?

Did I get up yesterday?

Damn it, this is a ghost!
