Chapter 59 I'm not a poisonous woman, what are you afraid of?
Lin Xi held up the wet towel in her hand and explained, "President Song has a high fever, so I'm using the wet towel to help him lower his temperature."
"He has a fever?" Xu Wantang then noticed Song Xu's abnormal condition. His eyes were red, his cheeks were red, and he was lying motionless on the bed.
She walked to Song Xu's bedside, reached out to touch his forehead and neck, which were very hot. "Xiao Xu, why didn't you tell me you were sick? Did you take any medicine?"
Song Xu nodded, "I ate it, and I feel much better now."
"What medicine did you take?" Xu Wantang asked, her eyes filled with worry.
Song Xu didn't know what kind of medicine he had taken, and he looked at Lin Xi.
Lin Xi pointed to the medicine box on the bedside table, "She only took fever reducer."
Song Chen picked up the medicine box and glanced at it. Yes, it was fever reducer, but it was prepared for him. Song Xu had always had trouble taking medicine and could only take medicine with a sweet taste.
He raised an eyebrow and asked Lin Xi, "Did Xiao Xu take this medicine?"
Lin Xi held up two fingers, "I ate two pieces."
Song Chen and Xu Wantang both looked at Lin Xi in surprise. Lin Xi felt uneasy under their gazes and asked timidly, "Did I give President Song the wrong medicine? This medicine is quite effective. I started sweating and my fever subsided an hour after taking it."
Xu Wantang shook her head, her expression gloating. "That's right, then let's continue giving him this medicine."
Song Xu coughed twice. "I'm much better now, I don't need to take any more medicine."
"No!" the other three said in unison, refusing Song Xu's request.
Lin Xi regretted her words as soon as she finished speaking. She covered her mouth and lowered her head, feeling as if she had no right to speak here.
"Mrs. Song, would you like something to drink? I'll get it for you." Lin Xi felt it was best to leave the room.
“What can we drink here?” Xu Wantang sighed. “There’s no bubble tea. Whatever.”
"Yes, would you like it hot or warm?" Lin Xi replied.
Xu Wantang thought she had misheard. "You have bubble tea? I only like freshly made ones."
Lin Xi nodded, "I can make it, but I can't guarantee it will suit your taste."
"Then you go ahead and make it. I'll try it and see how it is. It should be warm," Xu Wantang said expectantly.
Lin Xi breathed a sigh of relief after leaving Song Xu's room. She was still holding the towel she had used to wipe Song Xu's body, and it felt a little hot to the touch.
After taking the towel into her room, she ran to the kitchen to make a drink.
She took a small box of cooked pearls from the refrigerator.
She made this herself a few days ago when she was bored. After cooking it, she divided it into small boxes. When she wanted to drink it, she would take out a box, heat it up in the microwave, and then use it.
With tapioca pearls in hand, making milk tea is even easier; all you need is black tea, sugar, and milk, which you can easily find at home.
She quickly made a cup of bubble tea and even provided a thick straw for easy sucking of the tapioca pearls.
Lin Xi also made two cups of honey lemon water for Song Chen and Song Xu. She paused for a moment when she inserted the straws into the cups.
When she was feeding Song Xu water, why didn't she think to let him use a straw? Why did she have to spoon-feed him water and exhaust herself like that? She's so stupid.
Lin Xi carried three drinks back to Song Xu's room.
Song Chen sat in a chair, while Madam Song sat by the bed, holding Song Xu's hand and stroking his head. "How did you suddenly fall ill? You must be exhausted. I'll go back and talk to your father. Let him handle the company's affairs himself. You're still a student."
"No, please," Song Xu said helplessly. "Mom, let my brother take you back to the old house. Otherwise, if Dad doesn't see you when he gets home, he'll come looking for you."
They might even give him a good scolding.
“You’re so sick, how can I leave?” Xu Wantang glared at her. “I’ll stay here tonight and take care of you myself.”
Despairing, Song Xu pleaded with Song Chen for help, "Brother, I want to live."
Song Chen shrugged, indicating that he had no choice.
"You brat, what do you mean!" Xu Wantang slapped Song Xu's hand hard. "I'm your own mother, would I harm you?"
Song Xu closed his eyes; he didn't want to talk anymore.
"Mrs. Song, your bubble tea is ready." Lin Xi walked in at the crucial moment.
When Xu Wantang heard that the bubble tea was ready, she immediately let go of Song Xu's hand and turned to get the bubble tea.
"Attorney Song, would you like some honey lemon water?" Lin Xi asked Song Chen.
"Thank you," Song Chen said, taking a cup for himself and praising it after taking a sip. "It's delicious."
Xu Wantang took a sip of the bubble tea, and it tasted better than she had imagined. "Not bad, the young lady's skills are excellent."
"Thank you for the compliment, Madam," Lin Xi placed the remaining glass of beverage on the bedside table. "Would Mr. Song like some?"
Song Xu opened her eyes and looked at Lin Xi with a wronged expression, "You feed me."
“Okay,” Lin Xi squatted down, holding the cup, and put the straw into Song Xu’s mouth. “Can you suck it up?”
Song Xu glanced at her with displeasure, then gulped down the glass of water in a few mouthfuls.
Lin Xi stood up and stepped back. "Mrs. Song, Attorney Song, I'll go out first. Call me if you need anything."
"Wait a minute," Xu Wantang put down her bubble tea, stood up and walked towards Lin Xi, "Which room are you staying in? Can I go and see?"
"Of course you can." Lin Xi nodded. Her room was clean and there was nothing that couldn't be seen.
"Mom!" Song Xu and Song Chen spoke at the same time, trying to stop Xu Wantang.
Xu Wantang turned around and glared at them fiercely. "What mother? I'm not a poisonous woman, what are you afraid of?"
Song Xu and Song Chen shut their mouths and watched as Xu Wantang left the room with Lin Xi.
Seeing that they had all left, Song Xu threw off the covers, got out of bed, and stood up. The whole process was a little tiring, and her legs were still a bit weak.
“You can stand up,” Song Chen said, arms crossed, watching him. “I thought you were bedridden and couldn’t take care of yourself.”
"Brother, come help me up," Song Xu took a step, still feeling dizzy, "I'm about to suffocate."
Song Chen went over and helped Song Xu to the bathroom. "You're so proud that you're suffering for it. You were about to burst from holding it in, and you still drank so many beverages."
"I just didn't want to waste Lin Xi's good intentions." Song Xu let out a long sigh after emptying his throat.
Song Chen leaned against the door and asked, "You rushed back last night because of Lin Xi? You two..."
Song Xu paused for a moment as he pulled up his pants. "I thought she had gone astray. It was a misunderstanding. I'm the employer, and she's the nanny, that's all."
How could he possibly tell his brother that he had been rejected by the nanny, rejected her harshly? He still had his pride.
...
Xu Wantang entered Lin Xi's room and thought to herself that this nanny's room was quite luxurious, only slightly smaller than her son's room.
The room's furnishings remained largely unchanged, except for a few more books and a laptop on the desk. She picked up a book at random and flipped through it; it was a legal English vocabulary book.
Xu Wantang looked up at Lin Xi in surprise, "Is this your book? Can you understand it?"
