Hao Lingyu's maternal grandmother's house was an hour's drive from the train station. As soon as they arrived, Hao Lingyu jumped off the train and ran into the courtyard, completely ignoring her luggage.
The Mei family members looked at each other. Mei Liang sighed, got up, patted Mei Jian on the head, and resignedly got out of the car to carry their luggage.
Mei's father and Wang's father also wanted to help, but Wang Celou stopped them.
"The four of us are enough. You can just sit and wait for a while."
"Alright, then I'll leave it to you young people!" Wang's father nodded, thinking of his son and Mei Si's strength, and agreed.
Mei Si wasn't close to her cousin Hao Lingyu because her fourth uncle's family never spent Chinese New Year at home; instead, they went to her fourth aunt's family home in Kyoto.
Mei Si's only impression of Hao Lingyu was that every time she sat down, she had to wipe it with a handkerchief, even if someone else had just sat there.
The group put Hao Lingyu's luggage at the front door and waited for Hao Lingyu to bring the others over so they could leave.
After everyone waited for a long time, Mei Jian and Mei Liang were so cold they were stamping their feet, when Uncle Hao Si finally rushed out in a hurry.
"Fifth Sister, Wenhua, Auntie, Happy New Year!" Uncle Hao Si walked to the car first to greet everyone.
“Brother, don’t worry about us, hurry up and take your luggage inside!” Aunt Mei nodded and said.
"Alright, I'll go pay my respects on the second day of the Lunar New Year!" Uncle Hao nodded and went to get his luggage.
"Are you getting impatient? That girl Xiaoyu forgot all about her luggage as soon as she came in. Which one is Xiaoyu's? I'll take it in for her." Uncle Hao looked at the pile of luggage on the ground, unable to tell which one belonged to his daughter.
"Uncle, these are all," Mei Jian said, gesturing with his chin to the luggage on the ground.
"Huh? All of these? This brat, why did she bring so much stuff? You must be exhausted from carrying all this for her," Uncle Hao said, rubbing his hands sheepishly. "Um, I'll have to trouble you to help me carry them inside."
"This isn't a place you can just walk into, is it?" Mei Liang said, glancing at the guards on duty.
"Look at my memory, I've been treating this place like my own home. Well then, I'll leave it here! I'll go back and drive over to get it," Uncle Hao said, patting his forehead.
"Uncle, we'll be going now." Mei Liang said goodbye and headed back to his car.
"Hey! Give me your address, I need to go visit them on the third day of the Lunar New Year." Uncle Hao suddenly remembered that he didn't know where his sister's family lived, so he quickly stopped him and asked.
"This...we'll have to ask Sisi." Mei Liang didn't know where either, so he turned to look at Mei Si.
Mei Si gave her new home address, waved goodbye to Uncle Hao, and got into the car to take her family to the new home.
When Wang's father turned onto the street where his family lived, and was about to turn into the alley, Mei Si stopped him.
“Dad, go straight,” Mei Si said, pointing ahead.
When Wang's father heard the word "Dad," he trembled all over, and the car made an S-shape before continuing straight.
"Cough, Dad, keep driving straight ahead." Wang Celou reacted quickly, shouting "Dad" even louder to distract everyone from what Mei Si had just said.
"Where are we going? Your grandma and the others have been on the train all night. We should go home early so they can get some sleep." Wang's father glanced in the rearview mirror and, seeing that the Mei family didn't seem to have any strange expressions, breathed a sigh of relief.
"You'll find out when we get there. Sisi has prepared a surprise for Grandma Mei and the others," Wang Celou said preemptively, afraid that Mei Si might say something wrong again.
Upon arrival, Mei Si got out of the car first, took out her keys, and unlocked the door.
When Wang's father arrived, his expression became somewhat strange. He turned to look at the house across the street several times, but found no seal, so he thought he might have remembered it wrong.
"Grandma, come in quickly! This is our home from now on!" Mei Si called out from the doorway.
"What? Our house?" Grandma Mei was helped out of the car by her mother. She looked at the couplets pasted on the door, stepped over the threshold, and walked into the yard.
"Yes! This is our home! We'll live here from now on! Here! These are the keys, you can divide them up in a bit."
The Mei family members all went inside and began to look around and tour their new home.
"Wait a minute! You know about this?" Wang's father grabbed his son, who was about to follow him inside, and asked with a frown.
"I only found out a few days ago."
"Is this... the place where the whole family was wiped out..." Wang's father glanced at the yard and, seeing that everyone was busy looking at their new home and no one was paying attention to them, asked in a low voice.
"Mm." Wang Celou nodded.
"How about the price? Sisi is a kind-hearted child, I hope she wasn't cheated?"
"The price is okay, 20,000. Her yard is much bigger than ours."
“Her location is actually better than ours. If it weren’t for this incident, we probably wouldn’t have been able to buy it for 30,000. It’s fine! As long as Sisi didn’t suffer any losses!” Wang’s father nodded with satisfaction and went inside to visit the Mei family’s new house.
"Didn't suffer a loss? Well, not really a loss!" Wang Ce Lou looked at the happy Mei family in the courtyard. Sure enough, the happiest people are those who know nothing. If they knew what Mei Si had done, they definitely wouldn't be laughing so happily.
"This yard is huge, it must have cost a lot of money, right? You've only been working for a short time, where did you get the money?" Mei's mother was a little worried about her daughter's financial situation. Did her daughter borrow the money from someone else?
"Sisi, did you borrow money from someone? How much did you borrow? We can't owe people money," Grandma Mei asked worriedly.
"I didn't borrow money from anyone; I have enough money of my own!"
"Your own money? You send half of your salary home every time, where would you get so much money to buy a house?" Mei's mother felt that her daughter's salary was enough for her to eat, and she definitely couldn't afford such a big house.
“I have a bonus, and the bonus is still…” Mei Si was about to say how much money she had left, but Wang Ce Lou interrupted her.
