Chapter 340: Injured while Saving Someone
"Mom." Ji Wan exclaimed and immediately chased after her.
Jing Nanxing and Chi Wenyan followed closely behind, but Hua Ying seemed to be driven by some force and ran surprisingly fast.
She rushed out of the sanatorium gate and headed straight for the road.
Just then, a large truck sped past on the road, and the driver obviously did not notice Hua Ying who suddenly rushed out.
"Be careful." Ji Wan shouted desperately, but it was too late.
At the critical moment, Chi Wenyan rushed out from Ji Wan's side and rushed towards Hua Ying at an astonishing speed.
He grabbed her and pushed her to the side of the road to safety, but he himself was unable to completely avoid it.
With a loud "bang", Chi Wenyan's Cullinan was hit on the side by a speeding truck, and the door was completely deformed.
Chi Wenyan himself was knocked over by the aftermath of the collision and fell heavily to the ground. His forehead hit a stone on the side of the road and blood immediately flowed out.
"Chi Wenyan." Ji Wan screamed and rushed over, kneeling beside him.
Chi Wenyan forced himself to open his eyes, the blood on his forehead flowed down his cheek, staining half of his face red.
But his first question was: "Is your mother okay?"
Ji Wan felt guilty and subconsciously turned around to look at Hua Ying, who was being supported by Jing Nanxing. She looked frightened but not injured.
"She's okay, thanks to you."
Her voice choked with sobs, and she quickly pressed a handkerchief against the wound on Chi Wenyan's forehead, trying to stop the bleeding.
The truck driver also stopped and ran over in panic, "What happened? Do you need an ambulance?"
"Call an ambulance quickly." Ji Wan shouted anxiously, then turned to Chi Wenyan, "Hold on, the ambulance will be here soon."
Chi Wenyan nodded slightly, the light in his eyes gradually dimmed, and his expression of pain was obvious.
"Don't sleep. Chi Wenyan, look at me." Ji Wan slapped his face nervously, trying to keep him awake.
Chi Wenyan reluctantly looked towards her, a faint smile on his lips, "You called me...Chi Wenyan...not...Second Master..."
Then, his eyes slowly closed and he fell into a coma.
Ji Wan was extremely anxious. While pressing the wound, he looked anxiously into the distance, waiting for the arrival of the ambulance.
At this critical moment, she suddenly realized that Chi Wenyan was willing to damage his valuable luxury car and even risk his life in order to save her mother whom she had never met.
This selfless courage brought an unprecedented warmth and gratitude to her heart.
At the same time, there are endless worries.
The sound of an ambulance echoed throughout the sanatorium, but before the medical staff arrived, Ji Wan and Jing Nanxing had already worked together to help Chi Wenyan into the sanatorium.
"Take him to the treatment room," Dr. Wang from the sanatorium instructed. "The wound needs to be treated immediately."
In the treatment room, Chi Wenyan was half lying on the medical bed, the wound on his forehead was still bleeding.
He had regained consciousness, but his face was pale and he had obviously lost a lot of blood.
"Do you need stitches?" Ji Wan asked worriedly.
Doctor Wang examined the wound. "It's not deep, but it's quite large. It needs careful debridement. Head trauma is prone to infection, so it must be treated thoroughly."
"I'll help," Ji Wan offered, then turned to Jing Nanxing, "Nanxing, please take care of my mother first."
Jing Nanxing nodded, "Don't worry, I'm here." He looked at Ji Wan with understanding, then left the treatment room.
Doctor Wang handed Ji Wan a pair of medical gloves and said, "First, clean the wound with saline."
Ji Wan took the bottle skillfully and carefully cleaned the wound on Chi Wenyan's forehead.
After the blood was washed away, a crack about five centimeters long was revealed.
"Does it hurt?" Ji Wan asked softly.
Chi Wenyan shook his head, "Not bad."
Doctor Wang prepared disinfectant and gauze, "Use this to gently wipe around the wound."
Ji Wan nodded, took the cotton ball soaked in medicine, and gently wiped the skin around the wound.
Chi Wenyan frowned slightly, but said nothing.
"I'm sorry, I hurt you." Ji Wan said apologetically.
Chi Wenyan raised his eyes to look at her, "It's okay. How is your mother?"
"She's fine, thanks to you." Ji Wan said gratefully, his hands moving more gently.
Doctor Wang looked at the two of them and said, "I'll go get some Band-Aids. You continue cleaning the wound."
After saying that, he considerately left the treatment room.
Ji Wan was concentrating on cleaning Chi Wenyan's wound, his movements gentle and skillful.
As she applied the ointment, she blew gently on the wound out of habit, trying to relieve the burning sensation.
This intimate gesture made both of them stunned for a moment. Ji Wan realized that his behavior had crossed the line, and his cheeks flushed slightly, but he did not stop the movement of his hands.
"Thank you for saving my mother," Ji Wan said sincerely, "If it weren't for you, the consequences would be disastrous."
Chi Wenyan looked at her with a gentle look in his eyes, "It's just a piece of cake."
"No, this is much more than just a small favor." Ji Wan said in a low voice, "Your car is damaged and you are injured. I owe you a favor, a big favor."
Chi Wenyan shook his head and said, "Don't take it to heart."
Although he said so, she couldn't help but take it to heart.
Taking a deep breath, Ji Wan put on the last Band-Aid and stepped back to check his work.
Chi Wenyan's forehead had been cleaned very well, and several Band-Aids were cross-applied on the wound to temporarily stop the bleeding.
"It shouldn't leave any scars," Ji Wan said softly, "but it's best to go to the hospital for a detailed examination to make sure there's no concussion."
Chi Wenyan sat up, frowned suddenly, and seemed to feel dizzy.
"What's wrong?" Ji Wan asked worriedly and immediately stepped forward to support him.
"It's okay, I just feel a little dizzy." Chi Wenyan forced a smile.
Ji Wan was worried and insisted, "I'll take you to the hospital."
"No need, I can do it myself—"
"This isn't a negotiation," Ji Wan interrupted him, his tone firm, "You saved my mother, I can't let you drive back by yourself injured."
Chi Wenyan looked at her determined eyes and finally nodded in compromise, "Okay."
At this time, Dr. Wang came back with a Band-Aid and some medicine.
Seeing that the wound had been treated, he raised an eyebrow in surprise, "Well done."
"Thank you." Ji Wan took the medicine. "I'll take these with me, just in case."
"He needs to rest," Dr. Wang instructed. "Pay special attention to observe whether he has any symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or pupil abnormalities within the next 24 hours."
Ji Wan nodded seriously, "I understand."
The two walked out of the treatment room, and Ji Wan planned to go check on her mother first. At the corner of the corridor, her eyes suddenly turned red, and her emotions seemed to collapse all of a sudden.
"I'm really sorry for getting you into such trouble..." Ji Wan's voice choked with sobs, "First it was Mom, and now it's you..."
Chi Wenyan silently took out a clean handkerchief from his pocket and handed it to her. He didn't say anything, but just stood quietly beside her, giving her space to talk.
