When Duanmu Ci arrived in Tokyo, he used Haneda Airport, but he left through Narita Airport. I wonder if that counts as a proper beginning and end. This website's new domain name is the initials of Kele Novel Network (k1), the largest free Chinese romance novel website, come and check it out!
After buying bags of clothes and accessories for Akishino at the Shibuya 1o9 building, they threw the items into the trunk and drove back to Ichinomiya Shrine because Akishino insisted on getting a small fan she hadn't taken. Left with no choice, Wei Yue drove back, and after settling everything, urged on by Duanmu Ci, Wei Yue floored the accelerator, running several red lights before finally arriving at Tokyo Narita Airport.
As for the fines and such that followed, that was left to Wei Yue to handle. The Duanmu family head, who was preparing to return to China, indicated that it was none of his business…
Professor Yan Zhigui kept glancing at his watch at the airport. Boarding was imminent, but not everyone had arrived yet, and he was getting anxious. Although planes typically wait for passengers to board before taking off, it was still incredibly impolite, something Yan Zhigui didn't want to do, especially in Japan. To be impolite like that would be embarrassing on the other side of the Pacific!
He made several calls to urge him, but the news he received was that Duanmu Ci was shopping for clothes with a girl. Upon learning this, Yan Zhigui was furious! We were waiting for you here, and you were out shopping with a girl? How could we tolerate this?
He was eager to know what kind of stunning girl she was that could make the popular teacher Duanmu risk flight delays to accompany her shopping. If this news got back to the academy, it would surely cause another uproar.
Just as Yan Zhigui was about to make another call to urge them, Duanmu Ci and Wei Yue finally appeared at the entrance of the waiting hall with a girl. Yan Zhigui saw them from afar, put down his phone, and breathed a sigh of relief.
We finally made it.
Duanmu Ci was also somewhat confused, wondering what Yan Zhigui was so anxious about. His sister-in-law, Suo Keluoer, said that Yan Qing had arrived at Narita Airport with a team around 10:00 AM, and then sent twelve urgent messages to Duanmu Ci, acting as if he were in a frenzy. How could a dignified scholar of classical Chinese studies have the same lack of patience as a rash young man?
Duanmu Ci secretly grumbled to himself...
Professor Yan Zhigui saw Duanmu Ci approaching, and after a moment's hesitation, he prepared to speak. However, upon looking up, he noticed a girl accompanying Duanmu Ci. The girl slightly raised her head, revealing a bright and clean face from under her hat brim. Professor Yan Zhigui was slightly taken aback.
"Is this girl Japanese?" Yan Zhigui asked. He roughly understood why Duanmu Ci had arrived so "late"—this girl had the right to make people late.
“Yes, this is Wei Yue’s… younger sister, named Chiba Akishino. Professor Yan, you can just call her Akishino.” Duanmu Ci carefully chose his words. “This time she will be returning to Haishan with me, and she may even be studying at our school. I hope Professor Yan will take good care of her then.”
"Oh," Yan Zhigui seemed to understand something. "If you take her back, many female students will probably be heartbroken." He felt as if he had realized something extraordinary, and for a moment he even forgot to give his lecture.
Duanmu Ci glanced at him sideways... "That old scoundrel..."
He simply couldn't bring himself to have a "man's conversation" with an old man with gray hair. He glanced at the time; there was still about half an hour before boarding. He asked, "Professor, have you had lunch yet?"
"You've already eaten, but you haven't eaten yet?" Yan Zhigui pointed to the airport restaurant not far away and said, "You guys go eat there. The food is alright, but it's a bit pricey. Of course, this expense is nothing for a young master like you."
Yan Zhigui knew about Duanmu Ci's exchange of a building for a job interview, so he was somewhat aware of Duanmu Ci's wealth. He had always been optimistic about Duanmu Ci's scholarship, believing he would become a great scholar in the future. However, he also believed that an overly comfortable life could hinder academic research. Therefore, he often felt sorry for Duanmu Ci in this regard.
I wonder if this could be considered another form of resentment towards the rich...
Duanmu Ci nodded, then put all the suitcases there and went to eat with Wei Yue and Qiu Xiaogong.
"Qiu Xiaogong, what would you like to eat?" Duanmu Ci handed the menu to the girl.
Akishino didn't even glance at it. She said crisply, "Five-eyed fried rice!"
Duanmu Ci looked at Wei Yue
"Five-Eye Fried Rice!"
Duanmu Ci silently flipped through the menu, wondering if all Japanese people really loved fried rice this much...
...
...
"I want orange juice!" Akishino said to the flight attendant.
Duanmu Ci sat next to her, watching her look around with curious eyes. It was her first time on an airplane, and she felt very novel, tilting her head every now and then. She seemed to be wondering why this "iron bird" could fly so high? Even higher than the highest-flying birds.
Akishino lay on the round glass, watching with great interest the tall buildings, the dense crowds and the vast traffic gradually turning into ants, then flying up into the clouds, leaving only the azure sky above.
She almost screamed.
Duanmu Ci kept his eyes on her, worried that something might happen to her on her first flight, or perhaps he was worried that something might happen to someone else. After all, with Qiu Xiaogong's cultivation level, even without a sword, the power she could unleash under pressure was beyond the resistance of ordinary people. Only when he saw her ask the flight attendant for orange juice did Duanmu Ci finally relax. If Qiu Xiaogong had really made a move and alerted the air marshals, it wouldn't be a joke…
