northwest.
The wind rattled the windows.
Rong Bing was awakened by the noise. She opened her eyes and saw Lin Feng's hand on her body.
He was sleeping soundly.
The windows of the old house were not well sealed, and they would always make noise when the wind blew. She was a light sleeper and would suffer from insomnia almost all night after being woken up.
In the past, Rong Bing would sit up and scroll through her phone for a while, but with Lin Feng next to her, she didn't dare to move.
The woman held one position for a long time, and one arm became stiff. She tried to pull it out, but found that her arm was numb and it hurt a lot to move it.
Rong Bing bit her lip and persisted.
After a while, Lin Feng woke up and found the woman looking pained.
He sat up quickly: "What's wrong?"
Lin Feng touched her numb arm and moved it to a different position. The woman cried out in pain, "Don't move, my arm is numb."
Lin Feng gently lifted the woman's other free hand: "Are you feeling any better?"
"Strange, does raising the other hand relieve the discomfort?" Rong Yan did feel a little better.
She was able to sit up once her left hand was able to move.
"I've been holding your hand the whole time? You didn't move?" Lin Feng remembered that he had been holding Rong Bing's hand the whole time, which was why her arm was stiff.
"Yes, I didn't want to wake you," Rong Bing said.
"Fool," the man said with heartache.
He let Rong Bing lean on his shoulder and chatted for a while.
After the wind subsided, Rong Bing lay down and slowly drifted off to sleep.
I woke up again at 10 a.m.
She hadn't slept so soundly in a long time, and didn't even know that Lin Feng had gotten up.
A delicious aroma wafted from the kitchen.
Rong Bing guessed that Lin Feng had already prepared breakfast. It felt so good to wake up to a meal.
The woman, without washing up, eagerly went out of the room to take a look.
After Lin Feng finished cooking, he sat on a stool and waited.
He looked up when he heard the door open: "Good morning, you're awake."
Rong Bing glanced at the casserole and two plates on the table and asked, "What delicious food did you cook?"
"Corn porridge, scrambled eggs, and stir-fried pickled vegetables." Lifting the lid, the aroma became even stronger.
"I'm going to brush my teeth." Rong Bing was practically drooling.
Lin Feng served the porridge. Even though he was hungry as soon as he woke up, he endured it while waiting for Rong Bing.
Rong Bing took a photo and posted it on her WeChat Moments.
She hadn't updated her status for six months, and I thought there wouldn't be anything happy to share anymore.
Han Yue saw this post, zoomed in to take a look, and saw a pair of large hands, clearly belonging to a man. She casually gave it a like.
Ask Rong Bing when she returns.
Rong Yan also gave her sister a thumbs up.
At noon, Lao Deng received another text message from his son, which was even more unpleasant than yesterday's.
He couldn't help but retort, "You've already raised me, how I spend my money is none of your business."
Upon hearing this, Deng Wei realized that it meant his father was spending money on Han Yue, and his father had even told him not to ask, making it perfectly justifiable for his father to do so.
He replied, "Okay, then don't expect me to support you in your old age."
Old Deng said, "You live so far away. If anything happens to me, by the time you get home, I'll probably be completely cold."
This was the first time he had a direct argument with his son. He couldn't understand his reasoning, so this was the only way he could manage.
After saying that, he immediately blocked Deng Wei.
Day after day, I was in a good mood, but seeing these negative things always affected my mood.
Deng Wei was even angrier when he couldn't send the message, so he called Han Yue and blamed her for drugging his father.
Han Yue was not one to be trifled with; her voice was even louder than Deng Wei's: "Is she a dog? Why is she chasing me like that?" After saying that, she hung up the phone and blocked him.
"Xiao Wei's phone number?" Old Deng guessed it from Han Yue's expression. "I blocked him, you block him too."
"I've blocked you." Han Yue said calmly, "If I can't afford to offend you, I'll avoid you."
This time, Lao Deng didn't speak up for his son.
After seeing all her patients in the afternoon, Rong Yan went to the coffee shop early.
There are two free classes in the evening.
After Zhao Rong came to work at the front desk, all the documents were kept in good order, making Ye Jianming's job much easier.
When Rong Yan arrived, Ye Jianming was standing next to Zhao Rong, talking to her.
"Good afternoon." Rong Yan greeted her proactively. She had eaten with Zhao Rong once before and had a good impression of her.
Zhao Rong saw Rong Yan stand up and said, "Good afternoon, Dr. Song, you've arrived."
Like the other patients, she called Rongyan Dr. Song.
“Call her Rong Yan, Dr. Song, please don’t be offended,” Ye Jianming corrected.
"Yes, just call me Rong Yan. How about it? How many people will be in each class tonight?" Rong Yan asked about the work first.
Rong Yan was quite surprised by Zhao Rong's professional skills; she was completely unlike what Zhao Rong had said about having no work experience.
"You've made such a perfect spreadsheet, and you're saying you have no work experience? You need at least two years of experience at a large company to have this kind of ability," Rong Yan said.
"I've never actually worked outside the home, but I did help out at my dad's company," Zhao Rong said honestly.
Rong Yan understood. Zhao Rong's family owned their own business, and Zhao Rong was asking for help, not to work.
"It's fine," she affirmed again.
"I'm satisfied." The woman said modestly.
Taking the opportunity, Zhao Rong said to Rong Yan, "Dr. Song, can I listen in on the classes? I'd like to learn something too, as long as it doesn't interfere with my work."
“Of course.” Rong Yan nodded.
"You two shouldn't start talking about work as soon as you meet. I'm at the coffee shop every day, and I don't want to talk about work anymore. How about we talk about what to eat tonight?" Ye Jianming interrupted the two.
"As long as it's not takeout, it's fine." Rong Yan was rather casual.
Zhao Rong echoed, "Same."
"Then let's choose one from the menu."
"Beef brisket rice bowl," the two said in unison.
"Wow, you guys are so in sync," the man exclaimed in surprise.
Rong Yan and Zhao Rong exchanged a smile.
After Yu Wenhao went on a business trip, Fu Jingsheng had more work to do. He called his wife in the evening to tell her that he would be working overtime and wouldn't be able to go to the coffee shop.
The public welfare classes have been held for several sessions and are already very orderly. Rong Yan replied, "No need to come over, we've already taken care of everything."
Shen Xingzhi wanted to come after get off work, but Rong Yan sent her back. She was pregnant and still wanted to work two jobs.
Besides the students and Rong Yan, Xiao Baihe also came to the coffee shop today.
Xiaobaihe was in charge of taking photos. She recently became obsessed with creating social media content. After getting everyone's permission, Xiaobaihe posted the class process online, and the first batch of articles actually received over 10,000 views.
She became more and more enthusiastic as she worked, and eventually quit her job to become a self-media creator at home. Rong Yan fully supported her, saying that young people should pursue their dreams.
After class, the students were reluctant to leave and surrounded Rong Yan, asking her all sorts of questions. Rong Yan wanted to answer them all, but time didn't allow it, so she created a group chat and invited everyone to join.
After finishing all her classes at nine o'clock in the evening, Rong Yan sat down and took a sip of water.
Seeing that it was getting late, the trainees said goodbye and left.
"Rong Yan, are you going back by yourself or waiting for Fu Jingsheng to come?" Ye Jianming was about to take Zhao Rong home and couldn't pay attention to Rong Yan.
"Fu Jingsheng won't be back until ten o'clock. I'm driving now. I'll go back by myself. See you later."
Rong Yan rinsed her water glass and left the coffee shop.
