After washing them clean, Bai Nuo weighed them in her hand. The bucket of pearls was incredibly heavy, and Bai Nuo almost couldn't lift it.
"Where should we put these things?" Long Er asked from the side.
Bai Nuo thought for a moment. She had originally planned to leave it in the room, but it didn't seem very safe, so she said, "Let's take it to town together later, and bring that person with us too." That person was Bai Dalin.
Long Er nodded.
After dinner, Bai Nuo thought that since it was still early, she would deliver the things to Fu Lai Inn. Firstly, Long Yi was here and could help her watch the fishpond. Secondly, since Long Er and the others were still there, they could go together, with two going home and one delivering the goods.
But as soon as she opened the door, she saw a group of people gathered around her front door, as if they were waiting for her to open it.
The leaders were none other than Chen Qiuling, Chen Zhi, and the village chief.
The village chief has arrived?
"What's wrong?" Bai Nuo looked at them in confusion.
"Bai Nuo, give Da Lin back to me!" Chen Qiuling grabbed Bai Nuo's hand, her voice pleading and her face full of bitterness.
It's impossible to pay it back, absolutely impossible in this lifetime. Bai Nuo pretended to be confused, knowing full well what was going on, "What do you mean 'pay it back to you'? Bai Dalin isn't here with me!"
"Bai Dalin is right here with you!" Chen Qiuling grabbed her hand, squeezing it so hard that Bai Nuo's hand hurt. Bai Nuo tried several times to pull her hand away but failed. She could only cry out, "You're squeezing me so hard it hurts! Let go of me!"
"Unless you give Dalin back to me, I won't let him go!" Unexpectedly, Chen Qiuling actually stood her ground for once.
However, Bai Nuo found Chen Qiuling's weak appearance extremely annoying. She was a black lotus flower in the first place, yet she insisted on pretending to be innocent. She was always crying and whining, which was irritating.
"Where did I get Bai Dalin from? Chen Qiuling, you lost your husband and came to me looking for him. Do you expect me to conjure him up for you?" Bai Nuo said, "I'm not a god, I can't conjure him up!"
"He's here with you!" Chen Qiuling insisted. "He came here this afternoon and told me he was here, but he hasn't come back yet, so he can only stay with you. Village chief, please say something! Please help me! Please make Bai Nuo give Da Lin back to me! Bai Nuo, he's your father! How could you do this?"
