Chapter 187 I'm Willing to Get Hurt for You

When Hu Ziyao turned around, she saw her mother standing at the door watching her.

Madam Zheng looked at her daughter with a face full of anger, but Hu Ziyao was so happy to see her mother that she couldn't understand her mother's expression and called out, "Mother, you've come!"

What made Madam Zheng faint even more was that Hu Ziyao actually turned around and said to Bai Nuo, "My mother is here. Let's see how she deals with you!"

How could she have such a foolish daughter! How could she say such a thing? Madam Zheng strode over and angrily rebuked, "Yao'er!"

The sternness in that "Yao'er" was something Hu Ziyao had never seen from her mother before. Her mother never spoke to her in such a tone. Hu Ziyao was startled and stared blankly at Madam Zheng.

But Madam Zheng ignored her, walked straight past her, went around behind the box, and helped Bai Nuo up. "Second daughter-in-law, are you alright?"

Bai Nuo forced a smile, patted the dirt off himself, and said, "Nothing's wrong..."

Madam Zheng was still somewhat worried. "Should we ask a doctor to come and take a look?"

Bai Nuo shook her head, "It's nothing... I just fell and my butt hurts a little. Second Aunt, please don't blame the young lady. She didn't push me on purpose. I grew up in the countryside and I'm tough. I'm fine after this fall. She didn't push me hard. I just couldn't stand up!"

The more Bai Nuo spoke, the angrier Madam Zheng became, and the more embarrassed she felt. She supported Bai Nuo while yelling at Mudan and the others, "Are you all dead? Do you want the Second Young Mistress to clean up this mess here?"

Peony and peony were standing a little further away, but upon hearing this, they quickly ran over.

"Second Aunt, please don't be angry. I didn't let them do it. These things were left by Grandmother. Grandmother has come home, so I thought I would arrange them myself."

Madam Zheng looked down and saw that the box was full of jewelry and other valuables. She couldn't help but ask, "Did the princess leave all these things behind?"

Bai Nuo nodded, then suddenly burst into tears. "That's right, my poor grandmother passed away at such a young age, without even having a few days to enjoy life!"

As the one who had taken someone else's place, Madam Zheng was extremely embarrassed. "You're pregnant, so don't overwork yourself. These things can be done by servants. If you don't have enough people here, I'll transfer a few more to you. And you, why did you transfer all the people in the courtyard away?"

"No, no!" Bai Nuo quickly refused. "I'm scared to see so many people. I'm not used to it. Second Aunt, please have pity on me!"

"You!"

"Mother!" Hu Ziyao saw her mother come in and start caring for Bai Nuo, talking to her affectionately, even more so than to her. She couldn't help but feel jealous and frowned as she called out.

Bai Nuo spoke up in front of Madam Zheng again, "Second Aunt, please don't blame the eldest young lady. She really didn't push me on purpose!"

“Mother, she’s right, I didn’t push her!” Hu Ziyao also said!

Madam Zheng's veins were throbbing, and upon hearing this, she immediately roared, "Shut up!"

Bai Nuo stared blankly at Madam Zheng, "Second Aunt!"

Madam Zheng had a headache. She turned her head and gave Bai Nuo a weak smile. "I wasn't talking about you. Come on, let me take you home!"

Bai Nuo smiled gratefully, "Then thank you, Second Aunt!"

When Madam Zheng came out of Bai Nuo's room, she saw Hu Ziyao still standing in the courtyard. When she saw Madam Zheng come out, she stared at her with a look of grievance and resentment, pursing her lips.

Madam Zheng sighed silently, calmly walking away despite her daughter's accusing gaze. When she reached Hu Ziyao, she took Hu Ziyao's hand and said softly, "Come on, I made some bird's nest soup for you. It should be ready by now. Go and drink it!"

"I'm not going to drink your bird's nest!" Hu Ziyao flung away Madam Zheng's hand and turned her face away in a huff, refusing to look at Madam Zheng.

"Good child, are you still angry with your mother?" Madam Zheng wasn't angry. She continued to hold Hu Ziyao's hand and led her outside.

"You don't care about me anymore!" Hu Ziyao shook off Madam Zheng's hand again. "You can only have that country girl!"

"What are you saying, child!" Madam Zheng looked around the courtyard and saw that the maids sweeping and cleaning were all looking at them. She smiled gently and continued, "Your second brother is not in good health, and we are all worried that he will not live long. He finally got a wife, and your sister-in-law is pregnant. I am in charge of everything at home and outside. How can I not take good care of your second sister-in-law?"

Hu Ziyao stood there and refused to leave. Madam Zheng had no choice but to ask her to find a sedan chair and carry Hu Ziyao away. She couldn't disturb Bai Nuo here, so she asked her personal maid to find a sedan chair and carry Hu Ziyao away.

Sitting in the sedan chair, Hu Ziyao saw that her mother was still walking while she was sitting in the chair, and she was no longer so angry. Her mother still loved her very much. She looked at her mother's face, which was very calm and she couldn't tell anything from it. So she cautiously called out, "Mother, let me get down and walk by myself!"

The old women carrying the sedan chair paused for a moment. Madam Zheng raised her eyelids slightly and said calmly, "Miss is tired, let's carry her!" So the old women quickly started walking again.

Once inside the courtyard, Madam Zheng suddenly shouted sternly, "Get down and walk by yourself!"

The noise was so loud that the servants sweeping and cleaning dared not utter a sound, lowering their heads and pretending not to know anything.

The four old women carrying the sedan chair moved swiftly and put it down in an instant. Hu Ziyao got off the sedan chair, confused, and called out uneasily, "Mother."
