When Su Ning woke up, it was already past eight o'clock. She hurriedly got up to make breakfast for He Ci.
Turning around, Su Ning saw the envelope on the bedside table. She picked up the envelope and the note on it.
"Sweetie, I need to go out for a few days. Take this money and wait for me to come back. Also, remember to get a SIM card and call me if you miss me."
Su Ning looked at the string of numbers on the note, picked up the new phone He Ci had given her last night, and entered the number.
Su Ning looked at the envelope in her hand. This amount of money was her family's income for one or two years. Su Ning thought there was only money in the envelope, but she didn't expect there to be a bankbook as well. Su Ning's eyes welled up with tears and she wanted to cry.
The knocking at the door pulled Su Ning back to reality. She thought it was He Ci who had forgotten something and had come back. The door opened, revealing Bai Weiwei's cute little face.
"Good morning, Ning'er! Are you surprised or not?"
Su Ning was indeed surprised to see Bai Weiwei. "Weiwei, how did you find this place?"
Bai Weiwei carried breakfast into the living room. "Because I can calculate! I just did a quick calculation and knew you lived here, so I came to invite you to breakfast."
Su Ning smiled gently, "Then, little fortune teller, can you help me calculate when I can find a job?"
Bai Weiwei pretended to close her eyes and counted on her fingers in a serious manner, "Hmm! This young lady has a full head and a square bottom, she looks like she's destined to be a boss lady."
The room was silent for about ten seconds, then the two of them burst out laughing.
Bai Weiwei opened the breakfast menu and invited Su Ning over to eat; it was the standard breakfast of steamed buns, fried dough sticks, and soy milk.
Bai Weiwei held a steamed bun in her hand, eating while looking at it. She leaned closer to Su Ning and tentatively asked her a question.
"Ning'er, do you live alone?"
Su Ning paused, then nodded. It wasn't that she was deliberately hiding it; she and He Ci were both unmarried, and it wouldn't look good if outsiders knew they lived together.
Bai Weiwei was overjoyed to hear that Su Ning was alone. That scoundrel only asked her to come and keep Su Ning company; he didn't say she couldn't kidnap her.
After lunch, Bai Weiwei helped Su Ning get a phone card, and then deposited the cash. It was already noon by then.
Remembering what He Ci had said, Su Ning learned how to send text messages under Bai Weiwei's guidance.
Su Ning sent her first text message to He Ci, but waited a long time without a reply. Su Ning knew he must be busy.
At the He family's old residence, Zhu Xia couldn't help but complain as she looked at the man seated at the head of the table.
"You really are something, you can't feel right if you don't mess with your son every day."
He Zhan looked at his wife and said, "A doting mother spoils her son. Since he has enjoyed the honors of the He family, he should also bear the responsibilities of the He family."
Zhu Xia knew her husband was a stubborn old man, and she could only pray that everything would go well for her son.
Ever since Su Ning was taken away by He Ci, Qiao Zhenzhen has been on tenterhooks. She heard that He Ci has left X Port, and now is the best time to make her move.
After taking a shower, He Kun couldn't wait to pounce on the woman on the bed. Qiao Zhen was very good at pleasing men, and soon intimate sounds filled the room.
Half an hour later, Qiao Zhen lay in He Kun's arms and spoke in a soft and seductive voice.
"Brother Kun! When are you going to do what you promised me? If we let Su Ning go back to the mainland and then lure people here, it will be very difficult."
He Kun put his arm around Qiao Zhen, took a deep drag on his cigarette, and said, "Wait a little longer. That girl is now He Ci's woman. Even if he's not here, we can't touch her."
He Kun didn't want to offend He Ci, so he got up, dressed, and left without looking back.
Qiao Zhen was so angry that she smashed the things on the table to the ground. "Su Ning, you really have a good life. I'd like to see how long that man can protect you."
