Chapter 24 I Miss You Too

Time flies, and three days have passed in the blink of an eye. Su Ning finally received a call from He Ci that evening.

For the past three days, Bai Weiwei has been inseparable from Su Ning, and the two have become best friends who can talk about anything.

After hearing Su Ning say that she had been tricked into going to a brothel by her childhood friend, Bai Weiwei trembled with anger. Now that she thought about it, the only good thing that the scoundrel had done was to save Su Ning.

Bai Weiwei felt increasingly sorry for Su Ning's plight; if it weren't for He Ci, one could imagine what kind of fate awaited her.

Su Ning looked at Bai Weiwei's angry little face and smiled gently.

"Okay, don't be angry anymore. People say that every cloud has a silver lining. I feel very lucky to have met you all."

Bai Weiwei hugged Su Ning, her eyes reddening. "Ning'er! Don't worry, I'll make sure no one bullies you from now on. And that woman named Qiao Zhen, if I run into her, I'll beat her up every time I see her."

Su Ning patted her back to comfort her, "Okay, then when you see her in the future, help me get revenge."

Bai Weiwei found Su Ning's smile very healing, and she wanted to bring her back to be her sister-in-law even more.

A pleasant sound from the bedroom disturbed the two of them. Before Su Ning could react, Bai Weiwei reminded her that her phone was ringing.

Very few people know Su Ning's phone number: her parents, Bai Weiwei, and He Ci. Su Ning thought it might be He Ci calling, so she quickened her pace.

As expected, Su Ning answered the phone and He Ci's gentle voice came from the other end, "Little darling! It's me."

Xiao Guai is He Ci's exclusive nickname. That day, he said he didn't want to call her Ning'er like everyone else. From now on, when he hears someone call her Xiao Guai, he'll know it's him.

He Ci said that Su Ning was soft and obedient, especially her smile, which was very healing, just as Bai Weiwei said. He put Su Ning in the heart of his heart and she became his little darling.

Su Ning's eyes lit up with joy upon hearing the familiar voice, "Brother Ci!"

As soon as He Ci finished his work, he saw a text message from Su Ning. The unread message was from three days ago.

If Su Ning saw He Ci's current appearance, she would be horrified. His body was covered in bloodstains, and she didn't know if they were his own or someone else's.

Hearing the voice he longed for, He Ci's cold expression softened instantly.

"Sorry! I've been busy lately and just saw your message."

Su Ning's voice was sweet and soft, "Brother Ci! You don't need to worry about me. Take good care of yourself while you're out there alone."

He Ci's soft chuckle was still heard by Su Ning. "Okay, take good care of yourself at home. If you're bored, go shopping with Xiao Bai."

Su Ning was very touched to know that Bai Weiwei was invited by He Ci to keep her company. She bit her lower lip and spoke softly.

"Brother Ci! When are you coming home?"

When He Ci heard the word "home", his tall body trembled. He didn't know when he and Su Ning had already started their own home.

"I'll finish what I'm doing as soon as possible, and I'll bring you a gift when I get home if you want anything."

Su Ning was silent for a moment before speaking softly, "I don't want any gifts, I just want you to be safe."

Su Ning knew that He Ci's identity was unusual, and that she had learned from Bai Weiwei in the past few days that the things he did were very dangerous.

Su Ning dared not disturb him, fearing she would become a burden or a liability to him.

He Ci's heart softened completely; his little darling was so sensible that it broke his heart.

"My darling! I miss you. Do you miss me?"

There was a minute of silence on the phone, and you could almost hear each other breathing. Just when He Ci thought Su Ning wouldn't answer, a clattering sound came from the other end.

"Brother Ci! I...I miss you too."

Su Ning hung up the phone quickly after speaking, her face so red it could boil an egg. It was the first time she had ever spoken so bluntly to a man.

When He Ci heard the words "I miss you too," a roguish smile appeared on his handsome face.

Ali, who was driving in front, shuddered at the sight of him.

Inside the dimly lit car, a man covered in blood wore a wicked grin, looking like a demon crawling out of hell. The more Ali looked at him, the more horrified he became.

He Ci rushed to the bathroom as soon as he got back to his residence. Three hours earlier, he had led his men to massacre the entire Hai Gang, resulting in countless deaths and injuries; the scene could only be described as a field strewn with corpses.

He would wash for a long time after each murder, which made him feel that his sins would be lessened.

If he doesn't kill others, others will kill him; that's the kind of underworld prince everyone envies.
