The boy stared at Ger, momentarily lost in thought. A moment later, when Ger patted him on the shoulder with a smile and walked away, the boy suddenly snapped out of it, his face instantly turning bright red.
As Ger walked along the road, he saw people passing by, greeting them with smiles, and some even stopping for a few words. In just one year since he last returned, he noticed several new faces.
They walked and stopped along the way, and by the time Gale arrived at the Ancient One's door, half an hour had passed.
"Come in." Just as Gerald was about to knock on the door, the ancient sorcerer's clear voice came from inside the room.
"Squeak."
Gel slowly pushed open the wooden door, walked to the opposite side of the Ancient One, and then sat down on the ground. A small pot of tea was placed on the small table in front of him, and the Ancient One was currently refilling his cup.
"Are you leaving?" When the tea was ready, the Ancient One put the teapot back on the table, looked at Gel, and asked.
Gel nodded slowly and looked at the Ancient One. As always, the Ancient One showed no signs of the passage of time on him; his magic remained hidden within his body as always. Even with Gel's current abilities, he still couldn't sense the Ancient One's magical strength.
If Odin is a towering mountain that inspires awe, then the Ancient One is a bottomless sea, where no one knows whether the waters flow gently or are turbulent undercurrents.
"What do you want to ask me this time?" The Ancient One picked up the fan beside her with her right hand and fanned herself slightly.
"I don't know if this meeting will be the last." Gel looked directly into the Ancient One's face, as if finally asking the question that had been bothering him, and asked bluntly, "So I want to ask, are you really planning to let go and leave?"
