Chapter 44 Spider-Man VS Four Winter Soldier

Inside the brightly lit villa, Peter, dressed in a black spider suit, was dodging surveillance alarms that were visible everywhere inside and outside the buildings by climbing walls and jumping.

Despite the near-complete surveillance coverage, his presence was completely undetectable.

Gradually, Peter approached the conference room Charlie had described. Perhaps because he trusted the patrolmen outside too much, the curtains on the conference room windows were not drawn at all, and from Peter's perspective, he could easily see Pierce and the others talking.

Peter quickly glanced around at his surroundings, then hung upside down on the wall, took out the camera that was always hanging on his waist, stuck a piece of spider silk on it, and slowly lowered the camera down.

Peter took a closer look and realized that his location was blocked by an ornamental tree planted in the corridor, making it a blind spot for Pierce and his group. His camera was simply suspended behind the tree by spider silk, and unless someone specifically looked for it, it would be completely undetectable from such a distance.

Furthermore, the area around the conference room is one of the very few places in this villa without surveillance cameras, so Peter doesn't need to feel restricted in avoiding being monitored.

There were seven people in the conference room. A white man with thin lips and Pierce were sitting in chairs, talking. Behind the white man, five very strong men stood there with serious expressions, like five robots.

Peter also observed the five men for a while longer through the camera below—with Peter's keen hearing, he could clearly hear their heartbeats. Compared to the others, the five men's heartbeats were much stronger.

Peter knew perfectly well that these five men had all been genetically modified. Even the agents he had encountered hadn't had such strong heartbeats.

“As per your instructions, the five Winter Soldier have been awakened ahead of schedule. Apart from Bucky, who has been on missions outside, the rest of the Winter Soldier are all here.” Inside the meeting room, the white man sat upright and said to Pierce.

Pierce, on the other hand, was much more relaxed. He looked at Crawford across from him and said, "You saw the video that circulated online yesterday, right? Compare the fighting power of these five Winter Soldier warriors with that of the Hulk."

Crawford lowered his head slightly, his face somewhat grim: "Although the Winter Soldier has gone through layers of selection, their combat strength is far inferior to that of the Hulk."

The meeting room fell silent. Crawford took a deep breath and lowered his head again.

Pierce glanced at Crawford indifferently, picked up his drink from the table and took a sip: "Are Kurt, Ivan, and Stern settled in? How are the contacts over there going?"

Crawford's expression softened, and he looked up at Pierce: "That female scientist's data is not entirely stable, and there have been many failures in animal testing. She is urgently seeking collaborators, and as you know, she has been rejected by other parties many times. After I found them, I handed over Kurt, Ivan, and Stern to them, and provided some data from our previous projects. They readily agreed to join us."

Pierce gave Crawford a deep look: "Give these five Winter Soldier soldiers to them and help them maximize their combat effectiveness. Also, recruit disabled soldiers for them in our name. As for how to ensure their loyalty, you know what to do. I don't want any surprises."

Crawford nodded solemnly, his lips barely moving: "Hydra's dignity is beyond question, and they will surely remain loyal to Hydra."

"Judging from last night's video, Ger is currently the most powerful superhuman. Do you have any plans to recruit Ger and his siblings into Hydra?" Pierce continued, his somewhat aged face full of authority.

Hearing this, Peter suddenly felt uneasy, as if a thought was clamoring within him: Now he was the most powerful person, and that Ger was nothing.

Such thoughts churned in Peter's mind, but Peter did not feel that there was anything wrong with them.

Crawford placed a document in front of Pierce: "Based on Natasha's reports to Nick, Gol's brother Pietro and sister Wanda aren't particularly strong or mature. We can wait until the Winter Soldier's abilities are upgraded, then have them secretly capture Pietro and Wanda. After brainwashing them, we can have them persuade Gol to join Hydra willingly. In Natasha's reports, Gol's concern for his siblings surpasses everything, and Gol doesn't have Peter's altruistic personality. As long as we have enough benefits or a sufficient threat, I believe he won't refuse."

Having spent a long time with Hydra, Crawford naturally believed in the power of Hydra's "brainwashing" abilities.

Peter, listening to their conversation from a distance, grew even more agitated.

Just then, a middle-aged white woman dressed in casual clothes called out from afar towards the conference room, "Mr. Pierce, I'm going home now. Is there anything I can help you with before I leave?"

Having worked as a nanny in Pierce's house for a long time, the white woman also knew that Pierce's meeting room was not to be entered casually, so she stood far away.

Pierce turned his head slightly and shouted into the distance, "Renata, you can go home now."

At the same time, Pierce picked up the remote control on the table and closed the blinds in the conference room.

At this moment, Crawford, who had not spoken further, turned his head slightly and looked outside through the gap in the blinds, preparing to continue communicating with Pierce after Renata had gone far away.

Crawford could clearly see through the gaps in the blinds that Renata had walked into the corridor and was heading towards the main entrance.
