Chapter 43 Spider-Man Turns to the Dark Side

But the next moment, another slap landed on his face.

Charlie's vision immediately lit up with many glittering stars. He felt as dizzy as if he hadn't eaten for several meals. In his daze, Charlie heard Spider-Man's voice: "I'm just here to steal something. Don't give me so much nonsense. Quickly tell me the layout of the room, the installation of the surveillance cameras, and whether there are any secret surveillance cameras. Tell me all this information."

As he spoke, Peter took out a pen and a piece of paper and handed them to Charlie.

Charlie snapped out of his daze and stared at Peter in disbelief—he couldn't believe what he'd just heard—Spider-Man breaking into a house, or rather, stealing something.

Charlie even found the joke more ridiculous than a fairy tale.

But seeing Spider-Man getting ready again, Charlie, to avoid getting slapped again, immediately took the paper and pen and started drawing: "This is Pierce's bedroom. There are three surveillance cameras around, in these three locations. There are no secret surveillance cameras."

Charlie stared at the paper, drawing stroke by stroke, not daring to look up at Peter.

But the next moment, another slap landed on Charlie's face. To Charlie, Peter's tone was calm, even frightening: "Your pauses and heartbeat just now prove you're lying. Don't try to deceive me; my intuition is stronger than you think."

Charlie's eyes widened again: Peter had actually seen through his lie. These agents were specially trained; they wouldn't show any abnormality even when lying. But reality told Charlie that Peter was even more terrifying than the average lie detector. Charlie could only draw the correct terrain and surveillance locations on the paper, his face contorted with despair.

Of course, Charlie's basic skills as a secret agent led him to keep testing Peter to see if he could really see through his lies, but each time, he was met with a hard slap in the face.

Finally, with his face covered in handprints, Charlie handed the paper to Peter, utterly dejected.

It wasn't that he didn't want to resist, but if he made the slightest wrong move, Peter would immediately slap him, and he wouldn't even have time to cry for help.

"I hope you haven't forgotten anything, or you'll be in big trouble when I get back. I've heard human organs are delicious, but I haven't tried them yet." Peter's slightly chilling words sent a shiver down Charlie's spine.

Although Charlie knew it was a threat, he found it somewhat believable.

"I've said everything, can you let me go now?" Charlie subconsciously wanted to test Spider-Man's kindness one last time.

Peter glanced at the paper, then threw it into the toilet, looking at Charlie with the eyes of someone looking at an idiot: "What are you thinking about?"

With that, Peter raised his right foot and kicked Charlie in the head, knocking Charlie unconscious.

Looking at Charlie lying on the ground, barely conscious, Peter sneered: "I didn't even use a bit of strength, he's really easy to kick."

His voice was filled with sarcasm.

Charlie's only thought before he fell into a coma was: Shouldn't I be the villain? Why is this Spider-Man behaving more like a villain than me?
