"Don't worry, Mr. Xia. I'll be watching over the hospital." The dean waved his hand.
Shen Liwu and Zhou Yanjing left the hospital together. Zhou Yanjing came in a military vehicle. When they got in the car, Shen Liwu suddenly saw Jiang Wei.
The car started slowly, and the tires rolled over the wet ground, splashing small drops of water. Shen Liwu's eyes followed Jiang Wei's figure until her back disappeared around the corner of the street.
"What are you looking at?" Zhou Yanjing noticed Chen Liwu's strangeness while driving, and raised his eyebrows slightly. His palms were firmly on the steering wheel.
"parking."
Zhou Yanjing slammed on the brakes, the wheels made a short friction sound on the ground, the car body paused slightly and stopped on the side of the road. Zhou Yanjing turned his head and fixed his eyes on Shen Liwu's face, with a hint of confusion between his brows.
"What's wrong?"
Shen Liwu did not answer, her eyes were still fixed on the window, her pupils slightly contracted, as if she had caught some important clues.
"I'll go downstairs for a while."
Shen Liwu opened the car door, and the rain instantly wet her clothes, and the coolness penetrated her skin. Her steps were hurried, and the soles of her shoes stepped on the puddles, splashing water. Zhou Yanjing followed closely behind, and before he could even open his umbrella, the two of them had already disappeared in the misty rain.
At the street corner, Jiang Wei's figure was looming. She lowered her head and walked hurriedly, seemingly paying no attention to what was happening behind her. Shen Liwu quickened her pace, almost running closer, the mud and water splashing on her trouser legs, chilling her bones.
"Jiang Wei!" Her voice pierced through the rain with a hint of urgency.
Jiang Wei suddenly stopped, his body stiffened for a moment, and then he slowly turned around. There was a moment of panic on her face, but it was quickly concealed and replaced by an indifferent look.
"Chen Liwu?" Her voice was cold, and her eyes wandered between Shen Liwu and Zhou Yanjing.
Shen Liwu was panting, rain dripping down her hair, her vision was blurred, but she still looked at Jiang Wei.
"Why are you here?" Her voice was low and full of questioning.
Jiang Wei's eyes flickered for a moment, then he regained his composure.
"Just passing by." Her tone was flat, as if this was just an ordinary encounter.
Zhou Yanjing stood behind Shen Liwu, holding an umbrella above her head, and raindrops dripped in lines along the edge of the umbrella.
His eyes were sharp, like a knife, staring at Jiang Wei intently. "What a coincidence?"
Jiang Wei noticed Zhou Yanjing's scrutiny and subconsciously took a step back. She clenched the bag in her hand until her knuckles turned white.
"Yeah, what a coincidence." She smiled, but the smile did not reach her eyes and seemed a little forced.
"I have something else to tell you, Yanjing. Next time I'll bring you chocolates my mom sent me, imported from abroad."
Jiang Wei turned around and wanted to leave, but Shen Liwu would never let her get her wish. She held Jiang Wei's hand with a cold look in her eyes.
"Jiang Wei, it wasn't just Shen Jiajia who hired someone to kidnap me, it was you who did it too, right?"
Jiang Wei's arms stiffened slightly, and her fingers tightened on the shoulder strap of the bag, her knuckles turning white from the effort.
