Chapter 97 Zhao Aiguo's Brainstorming

As he spoke, Zhao Aiguo practically pushed and shoved Qi's mother out the door. As he closed it, he chuckled and said, "Old lady, you really are a tiger turned into a pig! You're both stupid and wicked, quite frightening indeed. Don't ever show your face in front of me again! I'm afraid I won't be able to control my itching hands! By the way, if you want that house, just tell the neighborhood committee. I'll collect it after you die!"

He slammed the door shut. When he got back, he saw that his family members all looked unhappy. He rubbed his arms awkwardly and said, "Mom, you really are a bit slow. I've seen it all now. Luckily, I inherited your academic talent, but my interpersonal skills are like my dad, grandpa, and grandma!"

Wei Shuqing sat on the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed) and cried. Zhao Dahu sighed and said, "Aiguo, you've grown up. I shouldn't have kept this from you all this time..."

"Oh dear! I know all that..."

"You know?" The four men gasped in shock, their voices cracking. Zhao Aiguo nodded slyly. "I've been researching this for quite a while now, figuring it out myself a few years ago, since it's not exactly honorable..."

The four were completely bewildered. What was dishonorable about it? Then they looked at him.

He was going all out: "Isn't it just that Qi Zhijun can't have children, my mother wants to divorce him, but he refuses to, and then you took advantage of the situation and did *that* with my mother, and the timing was a bit too much, making the Qi family misunderstand that I'm his family?"

"Look at your expressions when this comes up, all hesitant to speak. I know everything. But my mom is lucky to have married into our family. Looking at this family with such a cold eye, tsk...tsk...tsk...they're good for nothing, but they're always hungry! They're all potential prisoners."

"Hurry up and eat! It's getting cold. That old lady is really unlucky." The four of them were stunned by Zhao Aiguo's wild imagination. He had been struggling to cover up the truth, and he had managed to make it sound quite believable. Even Zhao Dahu believed that he and Wei Shuqing were indeed having an affair.

It's not Zhao Aiguo's fault. The dates on the household registration can't be faked. Besides, he also inquired about how Qi Zhijun's family treated Wei Shuqing. And since Qi Zhijun has never had children, doesn't that mean she can't have any? She's just desperately wanting a child.

Wei Shuqing was so angry that her face turned red, and all she could say was, "You're talking nonsense!"

Mr. and Mrs. Zhao didn't know what to say, but they couldn't bring themselves to admit that he wasn't a child of the Zhao family. They composed themselves and called everyone to eat; a perfectly good meal had been ruined.

Furthermore, Qi's mother was not discouraged at all. She planned to use entanglement, but she had calculated that her own grandson, with his not-so-bright mind, had pieced together a truth that was far from the truth. So no matter how eloquent she was, it was useless.
