Chapter 66: A Short Farewell
"You don't mind running back and forth." Chu Yunqi said casually, and then asked: "Do you want to go out and play this afternoon or rest in the hotel?"
Zhou Jingzhan ignored him and asked, "What's going on with the new company?"
"Don't listen to Xia Baiming's nonsense when he talks about this nonsense."
His half-hearted attitude made Zhou Jingzhan dissatisfied: "So you won't tell me anything?"
Seeing that he was in a bad mood, Chu Yunqi hurriedly tried to make amends, "I wasn't worried about you worrying about it. It wasn't a big deal. The last time I went to Country M, I was already in the process of resigning. Didn't you hear about the project Xia Baiming told me about? After the company's meeting over there, they still had no hope, so I sold my shares and thought I would go back to China to handle this matter myself. That's why I came to Hong Kong this time."
Zhou Jingzhan didn't know what to say to him, so he just stared at him.
"Alright, alright, alright," Chu Yunqi stretched out his hand to pull him up from the sofa, hugged him and walked out, coaxing him as he walked: "Just have fun when you're out playing, don't think about these messed up things. I heard there's an ice cream shop downstairs that's very popular, let's go and line up to try it..."
So the two of them queued for forty minutes to buy two ice creams, and at noon went to the restaurant that Zhou Jingzhan had praised ten years ago for lunch. Afterwards, they walked aimlessly on the street, chatting casually, and both of them felt comfortable.
It was only seven o'clock when they returned to the hotel. They took a shower, found a movie they often watched, and snuggled up on the sofa to watch it.
During this time, Xia Baiming called: "Hey, what are you two doing in your room all afternoon? Do you want to go for a drink?"
"Go on your own."
"Hey, you two, what are you two doing?" Xia Baiming was very curious. The ambiguous relationship was particularly addictive.
Chu Yunqi was too lazy to pay attention to him and hung up the phone directly.
Then five minutes later, the robot brought up what Xia Baiming wanted.
Zhou Jingzhan picked up the box with two fingers and threw it at Chu Yunqi, asking condescendingly: "Is this what you want?"
This time it was Chu Yunqi's turn to explain, "I didn't."
Seeing Chu Yunqi's righteous look, Zhou Jingzhan was furious and leaned over to pinch his neck, "When did you become such a gentleman!"
Chu Yunqi tried his best to pry Zhou Jingzhan's hand away. It took him several seconds to react. He then pulled Zhou Jingzhan to the sofa and kissed him. He asked in a low voice, "Are you really willing?"
However, he didn't seem to intend to wait for an answer. He carried the person straight to the bed and turned off all the lights along the way.
It was completely dark, and both of them were silent. The only sound in the room was the rising and falling breathing.
Suddenly Chu Yunqi tasted something salty; it was Zhou Jingzhan's tears.
Chu Yunqi couldn't figure out what he was thinking, and didn't know if it was because of the pain or what, but he didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable, so he propped himself up and gently kissed Zhou Jingzhan's earlobe, "Forget it, don't cry."
Zhou Jingzhan panicked and took the initiative to hook his neck, his voice dry: "Don't go."
Perhaps because he missed Chu Yunqi so much, Zhou Jingzhan didn't care about time at all and kept pestering Chu Yunqi, not wanting to leave for even a minute.
Zhou Jingzhan didn't know what time it was, but he vaguely realized that there was no one around him. At this time, his physical discomfort had begun to show, but he just felt uneasy and insisted on going to find Chu Yunqi.
The noise of him opening the door startled Chu Yunqi. Upon hearing the sound, Chu Yunqi turned around and asked, "Why are you awake? Are you feeling well?"
The lights in the living room were off, and the faint light from the laptop allowed him to barely see Chu Yunqi's face. The smell of cigarette smoke in the air went straight into his nose.
Zhou Jingzhan was annoyed for no reason and said indifferently: "Come in and sleep."
Chu Yunqi didn't notice at all, and replied nonchalantly: "Wait a minute, you go to sleep first, I'll be right there."
The sound of a door slamming came in response.
Chu Yunqi typed two lines of words quickly before he realized something belatedly. He took a box from the entrance, quietly opened the door and got into bed.
Zhou Jingzhan wrapped himself in the quilt, leaving him with his back to him. Chu Yunqi didn't care and quite consciously pulled him into his arms. With his other hand, he took out a watch from the box and waved it in front of Zhou Jingzhan: "Do you like it?"
Zhou Jingzhan remembered seeing it while shopping today, but he didn't expect Chu Yunqi to put it in front of him that night. He asked puzzledly, "When did you buy it?"
"I saw you glance at me twice while shopping, so I asked someone to send it over this afternoon."
This watch was priced at 14 million. Chu Yunqi didn't know how much more money he had to spend to get it so quickly. For the first time in his life, Zhou Jingzhan began to feel sorry for money. He took the watch and placed it in his palm, saying softly, "Don't spend money recklessly next time."
Chu Yunqi smiled when he saw that he accepted it, and kissed the back of his neck: "I make money to spend on you."
Zhou Jingzhan felt an indescribable discomfort in his heart. He turned to face Chu Yunqi, staring into his eyes and thinking for a while before speaking: "Let's go back to the capital. I don't want you to suffer so much."
Chu Yunqi couldn't answer.
Zhou Jingzhan also realized that his request was a bit excessive, so he added: "I'll wait for you."
Chu Yunqi hugged the person distressedly and could only weakly comfort him with a few words: "You are so good."
Within two seconds, Chu Yunqi realized that a large area of his collarbone was wet with warm liquid, which made him unable to sleep well all night.
Zhou Jingzhan slept until noon. Even when he woke up, he didn't get up, waiting for Chu Yunqi to call him over and over again.
Chu Yunqi's temper flared up, and he stood by the bed and started pulling the quilt: "It's twelve o'clock and you're still not up. Are you going to work tomorrow?"
Afraid of really angering Chu Yunqi, Zhou Jingzhan stood up without saying a word, got out of bed, and then his legs went weak.
Chu Yunqi caught him steadily before he fell.
Zhou Jingzhan's face turned red to the tips of his ears. He had nothing to say and suddenly said thank you.
Chu Yunqi saw his embarrassment and did not respond, just letting him go to the bathroom.
Zhou Jingzhan had been having a dull stomach ache since last night, and now he couldn't eat and was only drinking his soup in small mouthfuls.
He was in a bad mood, and Chu Yunqi could see it, but he had to speak up: "I told Xia Baiming to accompany you back. I have something to do and can't take you to the airport."
Zhou Jingzhan remained calm and hummed lightly.
Before leaving, at the hotel entrance, Chu Yunqi grabbed Zhou Jingzhan's hand. Zhou Jingzhan was surprised and looked back at him. Then he heard Chu Yunqi say sorry for not being able to accompany him well.
Zhou Jingzhan smiled and said, "I'll wait for you in the capital."
Then he gently left a kiss on Chu Yunqi's lips, let go of his hand, turned around and got into the car.
Xia Baiming had been waiting in the car for a long time, watching the two of them being affectionate for a while. Finally, Zhou Jingzhan got in the car. He wanted to say hello to Chu Yunqi, but before the car window was rolled down, Zhou Jingzhan said "drive up" in a very majestic voice, and the driver immediately did it.
The car didn't stop for a second.
Chu Yunqi unconsciously lit a cigarette.
Xia Baiming was confused: "We don't need to be in such a hurry, I haven't..."
Before he finished speaking, Xia Baiming noticed Zhou Jingzhan's expression and asked carefully, "Are you okay? Did you have a fight?"
