Chapter 110 Half a Jade Pendant, Past Events Like a Dream

Qin Nan blinked in disbelief, looking at her two paws, which were about the size of apples.

He struggled to get up, looking at his feet and body.

He now seemed to have transformed into a beast, a black, furry beast with a few golden hairs, but he couldn't see his own face or body, nor was he sure what it was.

Suddenly, he felt a jolt on his back and instinctively turned around. A warm figure rushed into his arms, and Qin Nan and the figure rolled together and crashed into a tree trunk.

Qin Nan shook her head, feeling dizzy, before she could see that the creature in her arms was a small, snow-white beast with a tiger's head and a lion's body. It had two very small, tender horns on its head, slightly pointed ears, and a fluffy, fox-like tail.

"You're awake?" The white beast asked in a childish voice, its claws pressed against Qin Nan's chest.

Qin Nan tried to respond, but could only manage a soft, sweet "ooh ooh." He was shocked and tried several times, but the result was always the same.

The white beast seemed to know his situation and, unsurprised, licked Qin Nan's fur.

Then the white beast nudged Qin Nan with its head, trying to lead him to find fruit to eat in the forest.

Qin Nan was doing rehabilitation exercises as if his limbs had just grown back. It took him most of the day to finally tame his limbs and be able to run and jump.

Then they followed the white beast, stumbling and running through the forest, picking up fallen fruit or low bushes from the ground. If there was no fruit, they ate leaves and grass.

Qin Nan initially didn't want to accept it, but she was so hungry that she could only swallow it with difficulty, even if it tasted bad, it was better than starving to death.

After they finished eating, it was getting late. Qin Nan followed the white beast to a sheltered crevice in the rocks, where they huddled together for warmth and fell asleep.

[PS: There are so many different accounts of Bai Ze's appearance, including those in the Classic of Mountains and Seas and other books from various dynasties. (Some even describe him as having a tortoise-like back and a snake's tail, which somewhat shatters the illusion.)]

As this is a sweet romance novel, it has chosen a more approachable and acceptable format.

Bai Ze: A mythical beast with a tiger's head, short deer antlers, a lion's body, and a fox's tail, covered in soft, long, snow-white fur. It is omniscient and represents auspiciousness.
