Chapter 56 An Unexpected Little Interlude

Qin Nan was completely confused, not knowing what they had come here for. The two left the private room and went downstairs. There were still quite a few people in the restaurant at this time.

This is a semi-self-service restaurant, where you can either help yourself or order food. Qin Nan was so hungry that she didn't care about the stares of others. Bai Hao silently followed Qin Nan, picking out food with a plate.

"Whose are those? I've never seen them before! They're so handsome! Both of them are so handsome!"

"Hmm! But we should all know people in this industry, so could you be from out of town?"

"Maybe. So, do you want to go or not? I'd like to get your contact information."

"Are you blind? Didn't you see their earrings!"

"This looks like a custom-made couple's set—Time!"

"Now that you mention it, it does seem to be true. It's a unique custom earring from Ottos. No wonder it reflects a dazzling light when the light shines on it."

"Actually, looking at them this way, they're such a good match! The taller one is the ascetic type, and the one who smiles the most is definitely the warm guy!"

Qin Nan paused in her action of picking up the cake, turned to look at Bai Hao, and thought, "Where does this guy look like he's abstinent?"

Feeling Qin Nan's gaze, Bai Hao looked up and met his eyes, a slight smile playing on his lips.

"Waaaaaaah!"

Screams erupted around them. Qin Nan silently lowered her head to get her things, then led Bai Hao to a corner to sit down and eat.

Qin Nan ate very elegantly despite the pressure from so many eyes on her, but she ate much faster than usual. Bai Hao, on the other hand, ate slowly. He wasn't hungry; he was just keeping Qin Nan company while she ate, and then he would pick out a few delicious dishes to tell her so she could cook them when she got home.

Qin Nan finished eating, wiped his mouth, and Bai Hao also put down his chopsticks. Then he pointed out a few dishes to Qin Nan, who understood and agreed to cook them for him tomorrow.

The dishes Bai Hao ordered were not uncommon, such as glutinous rice meatballs, baked chicken wings, and cheese sweet potato balls. Qin Nan had seen them in the recipes, but had never made them. Qin Nan thought for a moment and decided to buy some ingredients tomorrow to make pizza and egg tarts.

Qin Nan: "He Yan, aren't you a guest?"

Bai Hao: "He's poor."

Qin Nan: "......"

Bai Hao: "Perhaps this matter is related to you."

Qin Nan: "Me? What's up?"

Bai Hao: "You'll see when we get to the exhibition hall. We won't go to the Gold Rush Hall, let's go to the Hundred Families Hall instead."

Qin Nan: "You want to see the painting?"

Bai Hao: "Didn't you like watching this for a while when you were a kid?"

Qin Nan: "Hmm? How did you know... Oh, right, you know everything."

Bai Hao: "Later, why did you stop liking it?"

Qin Nan: "Don't you already know? Why are you asking me?"

Bai Hao: "What if I say I don't know?"

Qin Nan: "...This joke isn't funny."

Bai Hao: "Was I joking?"

Qin Nan stared at Bai Hao for a long time, her expression shifting from disbelief to incredulity.

Qin Nan: "You, you're not... how could you not know me?"

Bai Hao shook his head: "I don't know either."

Qin Nan was silent for a moment, then said, "Is that why you kept me here? You're interested in me, aren't you?"

Bai Hao was slightly taken aback. "Not only that, I am indeed curious, but I want you to stay."

Bai Hao would never admit that this was the reason he initially asked such a potentially disastrous question!

Qin Nan looked up at Bai Hao's serious expression and couldn't help but smile. Did he think he was stupid? Did he think he hadn't noticed the obvious change in attitude?

However... Qin Nan was also surprised that Bai Hao didn't tell the truth.

To outsiders, the two handsome men gazed at each other affectionately and chatted happily. Qin Nan was considering whether to remove the pizza from tomorrow's menu, while Bai Hao was a little guilty. However, because his skin had been honed by the years and was thicker than most people could achieve, he remained expressionless and appeared very sincere.

After dinner, Bai Hao led Qin Nan for a stroll around the park. Passing by the entertainment area, they ran into Chi Wei and Pi Yuan. Murong Xue was still on the roller coaster. The two little ones were munching on kebabs and waiting. Many young boys and girls gathered around to chat with the two little ones, and patted their heads and pinched their cheeks.

Qin Nan couldn't understand why there was an amusement park here. He thought everyone came to the art exhibition in formal attire, but he didn't expect there to be changing rooms at the entrance, specially prepared for different areas. He should have brought two more sets of casual clothes. He was so ignorant.

Qin Nan and Bai Hao glanced at the two little ones surrounded by people, but didn't say hello. They continued walking past. Because the two were holding hands, although passersby were talking about it, no one went up to disturb them.

Qin Nan: "Why didn't you tell me I could change clothes before you came?"

Bai Hao: "You didn't ask."

Qin Nan: "I've never been here before, of course I don't know anything!"

Bai Hao: "I've never been here either."

Qin Nan: "It doesn't matter whether you've been here or not?"

Bai Hao stopped and leaned down to whisper in Qin Nan's ear, "But I really like how you dress."

The deep voice, tinged with weariness, traveled through Qin Nan's ears and into her heart. Qin Nan shuddered, feeling as if the breeze was not caressing her ears, but her heart!

"Ah—get out of the way!"

A scream shattered the romantic atmosphere between the two.

A woman on a bicycle wobbled towards the two of them. Because it was a sloping road, the bicycle was going very fast, and Qin Nan didn't realize that the bicycle was already in front of him.

The woman's warning came too late; if she had spoken earlier, they could have avoided it. Moreover, Qin Nan saw the bicycle heading straight for him, and the person on the bicycle seemed to be leaning towards Bai Hao.

In the blink of an eye, just as they were about to collide, Bai Hao swiftly and cleanly scooped Qin Nan up by the waist and dodged perfectly, causing the woman on the bicycle to fall heavily onto the grass beside her.

Qin Nan was somewhat startled. She grabbed Bai Hao's arm, which was across her waist, and peered at the person who had fallen.
