Once outside the market, there was a road with a lot of traffic. It was summer, and Wu Yulin was already drenched in sweat, her face flushed red from the sun. She walked very slowly, passing two intersections.
The uncle who had just finished unloading goods for someone else saw Wu Yulin in the distance and was about to drive over to pick him up when someone from the store where he had received the goods stopped him, apparently because the quantity was incorrect.
Wu Yulin waved to the uncle, signaling him to go over by himself. After receiving the signal, the uncle began to discuss with the shopkeeper.
On a hot summer day, there were few pedestrians on the road. When Wu Yulin was going up the steps by the roadside, her wheelchair tilted and scattered bits of paint tubes all over the ground. Wu Yulin steadied herself, tidied up her things first, and then slowly bent down to pick them up one by one.
What would be easy for an ordinary person took him a long time to accomplish. The uncle over there was also in a hurry, but counting the goods was a real hassle.
He Yan watched for a long time, then walked over, squatted down, picked up the remaining paint, and handed it to Wu Yulin. Wu Yulin was taken aback, as he hadn't noticed anyone was there before. He looked up and met He Yan's gaze. He Yan was slightly startled, his eyes bright, like a starry river, clean and pure.
Wu Yulin was also taken aback. The person in front of him was ordinary-looking with a strong facial structure, a hint of sorrow between his brows, and somewhat cloudy eyes. But the moment he saw him, he felt a surge of joy and unconsciously raised the corners of his mouth.
He Yan handed him the things and immediately turned to leave. Bai Hao snapped his fingers lightly, and He Yan walked back to the two of them. However, in Wu Yulin's eyes, He Yan left in a hurry and disappeared after turning the corner.
The uncle on the other side finally finished dealing with his business, and immediately drove over to help Wu Yulin with his things before taking him home.
