Chapter 25: The Reversal of the Counterattack

Outside the desert sand city, a fierce wind whipped up yellow sand, obscuring the sky and the sun. The engines of several mechas rumbled low across the desert, like the roar of wild beasts, foreshadowing an impending battle. Xiang Fan's Zero Mecha was now cornered in a dead end between sand dunes, with no way to retreat. Ahead lay three aggressively pursuing mechas.

"Zero, you can't escape this time!" Yu Fengyang stood high atop his Flowing Cloud mech, the flying sword module on its back already illuminating with a faint blue glow of psychic energy. He shouted righteously into the public channel, his face etched with smug pride. "Today, let me teach you a lesson on behalf of Junior Sister Ling. Let you know the consequences of offending her!"

Gao Mingheng's Blazing Sun mech slowly raised its arms, two balls of blazing flames blazing with the infusion of psychic energy. He sneered, "Yu Fengyang, don't forget how you embarrassed yourself last time. Leave this to me! It's safest to finish him off with my flames."

"Heh, you two are useless." Chu Han, piloting a Wind Chaser mecha, darted around at high speed, as agile as a cheetah. He sneered, "Zero's refusal to surrender shows he still has some skills. However, this is the end. Let me end this!"

Xiang Fan didn't respond to their provocation. The Zero Mech in the cockpit remained silent. He gripped the joystick tightly with both hands, his eyes fixed on the data stream on the screen, his breathing rapid but he remained calm.

"Calm down," he whispered to himself, his tone low, as if to encourage himself. "Three mechas... one is impulsive, one has fierce firepower but is clumsy, and the other is fast but reckless. Their attack patterns are too fixed. If I can find a flaw, I can take them all out in one fell swoop."

Yu Fengyang was the first one who couldn't help himself. He fully activated the psychic module of his Liuyun-type mecha, and dozens of spiritual flying swords popped out from the back, pouring down on the Zero Point Mecha like raindrops, with great momentum.

"Zero, stop hiding. You're definitely going to lose this time!" he shouted confidently.

Xiang Fan took a deep breath, sneered, and maneuvered the Zero Point Mech into a sudden, backward roll, barely dodging the first wave of flying sword attacks. The flying swords instantly blasted dozens of small craters into the sand, while the Zero Point Mech slid out an elegant arc with unexpected agility.

"That's it?" Xiang Fan threw a sentence into the communication channel, his tone lazy and disgusted.

Yu Fengyang was so angry that he slammed the control panel: "How dare you talk back! Don't think you'll be so lucky next time!"

At the same time, Gao Mingheng's Blazing Sun mecha moved. The psychic flames in his arms accumulated to their limit, and he shot out two huge flame balls, carrying a rolling heat wave straight towards the Zero Point mecha.

Xiang Fan's gaze focused, quickly analyzing the flameball's trajectory. He maneuvered the Zero-Point mech into a sideways slide, its movements incredibly precise. The flameball passed right in front of him, blasting two massive black craters in the sand dunes behind him. Amidst the flying dust, he couldn't help but hum, "The fireball is quite large, and the accuracy is impressive."

"Damn it, Zero! Don't be so arrogant!" Gao Mingheng was irritated by these words. "Next time I strike, I won't let you escape!"

But at this moment, Chu Han's Wind Chaser mecha was approaching at high speed from the other direction. His Spirit Blade drew a bright arc of light through the air, pointing directly at the flank of the Zero Mecha. His tone was filled with a hint of enthusiasm, as if victory was already in his grasp: "It's over, Zero! You can't escape!"

Xiang Fan's pupils shrank slightly, but he showed no sign of panic. He quickly adjusted his mecha's stance and, just as the spiritual blade was about to strike him, he abruptly turned around. Using the inertia of sliding on the sand, he made a seemingly dangerous but extremely precise lateral drift, narrowly avoiding the blade.

"It was almost there." Xiang Fan said coldly, his voice so calm that it made Chu Han feel uneasy.

After a brief exchange, the dunes fell silent again. The three mechas surrounded them but did not attack. Xiang Fan's Zero Mech slowly stood upright in the dust, like a lone wolf cornered. He raised his hand and slid it across the console, whispering, "You like to play, right? I'll play with you to the end."

His hand slid quickly across the control panel, and a skill command popped up in the system.

Lingxiao Thirty-Six Styles - Activate.

There seemed to be a sense of tension in the air. The Zero-Point Mech's psychic energy gradually brightened, like a long-simmering storm about to arrive. Yet, the opponents hadn't yet realized that they were the prey.

"Now!" Xiang Fan shouted softly, and the Zero Point Mecha suddenly spun in the dust, and the psychic sword drew a dazzling arc of light.

"Spiritual Sky Flowing Water Slash!"

Following this cold whisper, the Zero Point Mecha moved as swift as the wind, and the psychic sword swung like flowing water. The sword light intertwined into a dazzling ripple, accurately hitting the fatal weaknesses of the three mechas.

The first strike, like a flash of lightning, cleaved the flying sword module of the Flowing Cloud mecha. Yu Fengyang felt the console tremble, and the smug expression on his face froze instantly: "The flying sword... is broken?!"

The second strike, the psychic sword, carrying a surge of spiritual energy, pierced the core of the Blazing Sun mecha. Gao Mingheng felt the temperature inside the mecha plummet, and the blazing flames instantly extinguished. His eyes widened, and he cried out in disbelief, "The flames... are out?!"

The third strike, a whirling slash from the psychic sword, accurately severed the blade arm of the Wind Chaser mecha. Chu Han's hand, gripping the handle, froze, and the mecha's attack module was completely destroyed. He roared, "Impossible! My sword—"

The entire process took less than a second. All three mechas were paralyzed almost simultaneously, and an eerie silence descended upon the dusty sands. The Zero Mech stood silently in the windy sands, the glow from the psychic sword gradually dissipating, leaving only a few faint wisps of light.
