Chapter 29 Torrential Rain

Despite the wolf pack that might attack them, the people of the Micro Realm were not afraid; instead, they were excitedly preparing.

Only Chen Yang knew that the wolf pack would definitely attack them within ten days.

“Brother Wang and I went to the fishpond to catch all the big fish and brought back a few jars of water. We’ll try to eat sparingly these next few days.”

Chen Yang said.

"Su'er and Ye Wu are going hunting. They should stay in a place with a clear view and try not to stray too far from the Xindu camp so that they can retreat at any time. Yining, you and Brother Guo go and pick more fruit."

Everyone got busy. Chen Yang and Wang Bing divided the work: Wang Bing was responsible for catching fish, while Chen Yang carried water back and forth.

The trap had a good haul; they even caught a baby goat. Unfortunately, the goat was already dead when they found it, otherwise they could have kept it.

After transporting back about thirty liters of water, Chen Yang discovered a very bad situation.

It's probably going to rain.

Wang Bing noticed it too. He looked at the sky and said, "Help me reinforce the fishpond, then go back right away."

Chen Yang nodded. Since it was going to rain, he didn't need to store water.

I never expected that the first rain in the micro-world would come at this time, as if it were pre-arranged.

In the distance, a large patch of dark clouds loomed overhead, with flashes of lightning occasionally streaking across them, creating an oppressive atmosphere.

Chen Yang returned to the Xindu camp, and the others, after taking note of the weather conditions, also returned.

"Move the fire into the cabin first, and also the sheep. Leave the rest of the things for now."

Chen Yang was very glad that he had the foresight to have Guo Zifeng carve a hole in the cabin while firing the pottery and make a fireplace out of mud. This way, the fire could be moved indoors, providing not only warmth but also light.

"I wonder if those newly sprouted potato shoots will survive this rain," Wang Bing said with some concern.

"Let fate decide," Chen Yang said.

The sky seemed to be covered with a black cloth, and it suddenly turned dark. The wind arrived before the rain, making the group feel cold.

With a "whoosh," the rain suddenly pelted the ground.

It didn't feel like rain at all; it was more like hail. But what was falling to the ground were indeed raindrops.

The rain obscured their vision, and the booming thunder and lightning that ripped through the sky frightened the two sheep, who kept bleating. The European king also stood at the doorway, barking wildly at the sky.

Inside the cabin, several people sat around the fireplace.

"This is the first time I've ever seen such heavy rain; it's amazing," Wang Bing exclaimed.

"I saw a super typhoon in 2006, the kind that only happens once every 50 years. It was even more powerful. The rain mixed with the wind felt like small pebbles hitting my face," Guo Zifeng said.

Chen Yang was also somewhat surprised. It was the first time he had ever seen such a terrifying downpour. If it weren't for the small wooden house that came with the micro-world, they would have had a hard time finding a place to take shelter from the rain. This kind of rain was beyond what any shed could block.

"Brother Yang, the little wooden house you built is truly amazing," Jiang Yining exclaimed.

“That’s right, God of Wealth, do you aliens have a talent for building houses?” Li Su’er also asked.

Chen Yang felt somewhat ashamed, but he could only explain that he had built the cabin himself.

“I learned some tutorials online and built it little by little. Before you came, I also learned how to start a fire,” Chen Yang said.

Wang Bing nodded and said, "Chen Yang's skill in starting a fire is indeed exceptional."

Speaking of starting a fire, Chen Yang looked at the wood stored in the cabin with some worry. He didn't know how long the wood would last, and if it rained a few more times, there wouldn't be any dry wood to be found outside.

"Once the rain stops, we'll collect the wood and put it next to the fireplace to dry."

The rain was still falling outside, and the downpour showed no signs of abating, accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Inside, however, it was unusually warm, and several people were squatting around the fireplace eating mutton soup.

Guo Zifeng made a ceramic pot with a handle, which was very practical. Li Su'er and Wang Bing made use of the ginger, mint, wild lemons and some plant roots and leaves they had collected, as well as the potatoes they had dug up and today's goat meat.

Their technique was very skillful; they used lemon juice to completely remove the mutton's gamey smell, and the mutton was cooked to perfection.

Chen Yang's Tenacious Blade is now mostly out of his hands; it's either being used by Jiang Yining to cut and weave materials or by Wang Bing and Li Su'er to process food.

Without the Tenacious Blade, many things would be much more difficult for them, and their efficiency would be much lower.

"This life is clearly not as carefree as the real world, but the feeling is completely different. A bowl of mutton offal soup makes me very satisfied."

Ye Wu couldn't help but say.

Everyone laughed; they felt the same way. In the microcosm, all they needed to feel satisfied was a place to shelter from the wind and rain, and to have enough to eat and drink.

"Awoo~"

Just then, a wolf howl suddenly rang out, freezing the joyful atmosphere in the room.

Amidst the wind and rain, a figure appeared at the door of the cabin.

A wolf, a wet and hungry wolf.

It hunched over, its gaze fixed on the crowd, its eyes filled with madness.

Everyone froze, never expecting that a wolf would be so bold as to barge directly into the cabin.

They were still too careless, not expecting wolves to be around in the heavy rain, and hadn't closed the entrance. The rest of the area was surrounded by thorns, preventing the wolves from getting in; only the entrance had a simple, hinged wooden door.

Moreover, they didn't even close the door to the cabin.

Chen Yang slowly reached his hand toward the stove, wanting to grab a burning piece of wood, while Wang Bing picked up the stubborn blade he had just used to cut potatoes.

Their movements attracted the attention of the hungry wolf, which suddenly pounced on Jiang Yining, who was standing nearby.

Chen Yang flung out a flaming wooden stick, which the hungry wolf easily dodged, and then pounced on Jiang Yining, who was already terrified.

"Aww!"

Just then, a small figure pounced on the hungry wolf.

It was the little European wolf; it bit the wolf's neck tightly, and the two rolled on the ground. This tiny European wolf was actually able to fight a fully grown wolf, and although it was clearly inferior, it managed to hold its own for a while.

In that short time, Chen Yang grabbed a torch and rushed forward.

"Lucky bastard!"

Chen Yang shouted, and the European Emperor, who was fighting with the hungry wolf, suddenly ran away. Chen Yang's torch hit the wolf's waist accurately.

The wolf let out a shrill scream. Wolves are known for their tough heads, iron bones, and tofu waists, with the waist being one of their weak points.

However, this attack was not enough to kill the wolf. After being knocked down, the wolf struggled to run away, but was bitten on the neck by the European Emperor who pounced on it again.

"Aww~"

Several more wolves tried to enter through the door, and Chen Yang held a torch to them. Wang Bing also held up his stubborn blade, keeping a close eye on the wolves at the door.

Chen Yang swayed the torch from side to side.

"Get out!"

The wolves howled at Chen Yang, but were wary of the torch in his hand and dared not advance.

Just then, Li Su'er raised her bow and arrow and shot the nearest wolf in the front leg.

The wolf howled in pain and then retreated quickly. The other wolves made a move to pounce, but Chen Yang, in a fit of anger, threw out the torch.

The wolves dodged the torches, and Chen Yang seized the opportunity to rush to the door, slamming it shut and locking the bolt.

Inside the house, Chen Yang was panting heavily, and Wang Bing helped him hold the door open as the wolves kept ramming against the wooden door.

The hungry wolf that had rushed into the house first was lying on the ground, its body convulsing and barely alive. The European Emperor had blood on its lips and was lying to the side, tending to its wounds.

At this moment, although the sounds of torrential rain, thunder, wolf howls, and panting were mixed together, everyone felt that the cabin was eerily quiet.
