"Principal, this isn't the first or second time this has happened. I think we need to bring Su Xiaoyu's parents here and have a serious talk about this."
The kindergarten teacher angrily complained to the principal.
The principal of Starlight Kindergarten was a short, chubby old man.
He was sitting behind his desk, carefully smoothing the few remaining strands of hair on his head in front of the mirror.
"It's just kids playing around."
He said it casually, not taking it to heart.
Seeing his nonchalant attitude, the teacher became a little anxious and her words became harsher.
“Principal, you didn’t see what Su Xiaoyu looked like at the time. Not to mention Chang Zishi, even I was scared when I saw her. If I hadn’t arrived in time, she could have broken Chang Zishi’s fingers off.”
The principal slowly put down the mirror in her hand. "Now that both sets of parents are here, how are you going to explain to them that you left the classroom at the drop of a hat during mealtime?"
One question left the teacher speechless; she stammered for a long time, unable to utter a complete sentence.
"I...this..."
The headmaster didn't want to dwell on the matter and said seriously, "We don't know the cause and effect of this, so let's not jump to conclusions. Alright, go and call Su Xiaoyu and the others over, I'll ask them about the situation."
When Su Xiaoyu was called over, Yi Kangle, who was always following her around, was also there.
The headmaster's eyes lit up as he looked at the two inseparable people, but he didn't say anything.
Yi Kangle, with his clumsy little legs, climbed onto the sofa, sat obediently on it, and opened his innocent big eyes, curiously looking around.
Su Xiaoyu, however, was different. She chewed on a milk candy, her eyes fixed on the headmaster's hair without blinking.
The kindergarten director felt uneasy under that undisguised, naked gaze.
I always felt that she had some ulterior motive towards him.
The office door creaked open again, and the teacher led Chang Zishi in slowly.
Chang Zishi was all smiles, but when he saw Su Xiaoyu, he was immediately terrified and hid behind the teacher in fear.
The principal gave the teacher a wink, and the teacher reluctantly pried Chang Zishi's hand away and walked out, turning back to look at him every few steps.
Without his backer, Chang Zishi's fear was obvious, and he huddled timidly in the place furthest away from Su Xiaoyu.
Fortunately, Su Xiaoyu wasn't interested in him.
Are you all good children?
Yi Kangle nodded first. His mother had said that any child who doesn't cry is a good child.
Although Chang Zishi was a beat slow, he nodded quickly afterward.
The only person in the entire room who didn't react at all was Su Xiaoyu.
What is a good child? What is their purpose? Can you eat them?
The headmistress asked patiently, "Isn't Xiaoyu a good child?"
Su Xiaoyu didn't even glance at him, focusing on chewing her milk candy.
The headmaster didn't dwell on those things and turned to ask the other two.
"You are all good children. Can you tell me what happened in the classroom today?"
Yi Kangle glanced at Chang Zishi, hesitated, and then spoke: "I was eating, and he deliberately tripped me, making me fall, and then he laughed at me."
The headmaster looked at Chang Zishi and asked in a gentle tone, "Is that so? Good children don't lie."
Chang Zishi stood there with his head down, twisting his clothes with both hands, without saying a word.
"If Kang Le is wrong, you can point it out."
The principal said something again, but Chang Zishi still didn't say anything, and the answer was obvious.
The headmaster looked knowing. "Zishi tripped Kangle, and what did you do, Xiaoyu?"
He then looked at Su Xiaoyu and asked, "You helped Kang Le, didn't you?"
Seeing that Su Xiaoyu had no reaction, Yi Kangle became a little anxious and blurted out, "Yes, Su Xiaoyu helped Xiaobao."
"Then why didn't Xiaoyu say it?" the principal asked Su Xiaoyu.
Su Xiaoyu remained unresponsive and ignored her.
The headmaster was at a loss as to what to do with her, who was so unyielding to both soft and hard approaches.
He sighed deeply. "Alright, I understand. You three are all good kids. Although Zishi bullied the other child, he was brave enough to admit his mistake and didn't lie. Kang Le has always been an obedient and good child. Xiao Yu is helpful, although her methods weren't ideal, they are still commendable."
He praised them one by one before letting them leave.
When the teacher came in, he sat leisurely on the sofa and said with a smug look on his face, "Teacher Pei, some things should be understood clearly before making a conclusion. Look, Su Xiaoyu did a good deed, but you scolded her instead."
Teacher Pei was embarrassed by his words and lowered her head, replying, "I understand."
Just when the principal was smugly thinking that the matter had been resolved smoothly under his brilliant leadership, a major incident suddenly occurred that very night.
The teacher on duty was startled by a scream and rushed to the sound, only to find that it came from Chang Zishi's room.
When she pushed open the door and ran inside, she saw Chang Zishi, who was terrified, and Su Xiaoyu, who had a cold expression on her face.
The teacher's gaze shifted downwards, and when it landed on the bed, she was startled to see a dead rat lying there.
This incident caused a huge uproar, waking many sleeping children, whose cries and screams mingled together.
This farce didn't gradually come to an end until the morning sun rose.
"Principal, I told you, Su Xiaoyu is a stubborn child. No matter how much we teach her, she won't listen. Look at the trouble she's caused this time!"
Teacher Pei pointed to the dead rat on the table and said indignantly.
The headmaster, who had been lecturing people yesterday, looked at the gruesome dead rat on the table and muttered to himself.
"Why is Su Xiaoyu still targeting Chang Zishi like this? She's already taught him a lesson."
Teacher Pei chimed in, "What else could it be? She's a very emotionally detached child, she never feels ashamed, and even when she makes a mistake, she doesn't know how to correct it."
"That's not right. Although she holds grudges, she wouldn't stoop to that level for someone who isn't even a good match."
The headmaster was completely baffled. He turned to Teacher Pei and said, "Go and call Su Xiaoyu over. I'll ask her."
Teacher Pei didn't move, but said, "Principal, I think you should deal with Chang Zishi's problem first. His parents will be here soon. Also, I've notified Su Xiaoyu's parents."
The headmaster was somewhat surprised by her self-determination, but did not criticize her.
