Chapter 7 Delivery Riders (7)

Chapter 7 Deliveryman (7)

"The bride is here! The bride is here!"

Someone shouted.

Immediately afterwards, firecrackers went off, their crackling sounds coming from afar.

Bai Ye squeezed by the gate, looking towards the village entrance, and saw a traditional Chinese sedan chair heading in his direction.

The bridal sedan chair was entirely vermilion, with tassels hanging from each of its four corners. As the sedan chair bearers carried it, the tassels swayed from side to side as the chair bounced.

The sedan chair was covered with intricate patterns, but Bai Ye couldn't see them clearly because of the distance. However, the sun was shining brightly, and the brocade auspicious clouds on the red curtain hanging from the sedan chair shone brightly.

"Ding-dong—Ding-dong—"

As the sedan chair drew closer, the bells on the sedan chair bearers' feet rang louder and louder.

Bai Ye was very curious: why did the sedan chair carriers hang bells?

Upon closer inspection, it was astonishing! The sedan chair carriers' feet were all dangling in the air.

My God!

I saw a giant ghost...

While Bai Ye was still in a daze, the bridal sedan chair had already arrived at the gate. The four sedan chair bearers slowly lowered the sedan chair and silently stepped aside.

Suddenly, a large group of young people appeared behind the previously empty bridal sedan chair, crowding around it and cheering.

"Where is the groom? Groom, come out quickly!"

"The bride is here! Why aren't you coming out to greet her? If you don't come out soon, we'll have to carry her back home."

"Yes, yes, our brides must have the groom come out to pick them up in person, otherwise they won't get out of the sedan chair."

On the groom's side, a group of people blocked him from leaving.

"You can't go out; once you do, the door won't be able to stop you."

"Exactly, it must be the woman's side's idea to exploit a loophole."

"We'll block the door first, and then go out to pick up the bride after they give us red envelopes."

The groom paced anxiously in the courtyard, straining his eyes to look ahead. In a fleeting glance, he noticed Bai Ye, who was crammed into the gate like a meat sandwich.

"Hurry up, quick!"

The sound was very soft, but it was particularly loud when it reached Bai Ye's ears.

Bai Ye knew that it was the groom talking to himself.

It's time to unleash our stubborn and argumentative spirit!

"Where's my wallet? I've lost my wallet!"

Bai Ye shouted and darted among the chickens, ducks, and geese, stomping on any hoof or claw he saw. If he encountered an arthropod, he simply broke it off.

While doing this, he shouted, "Who stole my wallet? All the money I saved for my wedding is in there!"

“Nobody’s stealing, we don’t steal anything.” Bull Head was unhappy; he was the most honest one.

After saying that, he looked to the side and said, "It must be those two who are stealing chickens and dogs."

Bai Ye nodded firmly, "Big brother is quite insightful. Please make way, I need to go to the front to argue with them."

While squeezing and waving its arms, Bai Ye unknowingly grabbed the bamboo pole, picked it up, and ran away.

The chickens, ducks, geese, and cows in front of the gate were all stunned. Where did the bamboo pole go?

Upon closer inspection, it had been stolen!

"Kid, bring the bamboo pole back."

Bai Ye ran around in the open space outside the courtyard, shouting as he ran, "You guys are definitely in cahoots! I have ten thousand yuan in there, and you've all taken it all. I don't believe a single one of you."

As he spoke, he brandished the bamboo pole wildly, as if he were determined to fight to the death.

Bai Ye's plan is excellent. New players have a three-month protection period, during which these monsters and demons cannot cause real damage. So what are we waiting for? Let's go all out!

As long as it's not physical damage, magical damage is nothing to worry about.

Mental breakdown?

Impossible, absolutely impossible!

Working people never have a chance to break down, while cattle and horses have no right to break down.

Chaos erupted outside the gate as everyone chased after Bai Ye, demanding a bamboo pole. The groom seized the opportunity to slip out and welcome the bride into the house.

During his escape in the daytime, he kept a close eye on the situation and was relieved to see that the groom had successfully brought the bride into the house.

Another task completed!

He shoved the bamboo pole into the hands of the ox-headed man opposite him, said "Brother, take this," and then turned and ran toward the bride and groom.

As soon as Bai Ye entered, he smelled a sweet, cloying fragrance emanating from the bride.

It smells delicious at first, but after a while, it starts to smell awful.

But you absolutely cannot say such things on someone's wedding, their joyous occasion.

Bai Ye followed beside him, trying to ignore the smell, and cupped his hands in congratulations: "Congratulations, congratulations, happy marriage, may you live a long and happy life together."

"You did a good job. Now you'll stay by the bride's side and deal with things as they come."

"elder brother?"

"It'll be soon. Once the rest of the ceremony is over, we can have dinner, and your mission will be complete."

After thinking for a moment, the groom said, "If you do a good job, I'll give you an extra red envelope."

Give a red envelope?

What do you mean? Does it mean you can take on freelance work?

Thinking of the fried rice the old lady had given him before, Bai Ye couldn't help but look forward to the red envelope the groom would give her.

"Brother, what are you saying? Forget about red envelopes. On this joyous occasion, the main thing is to make you all happy."

Without saying a word, Bai Ye stood on the far left of the bride and even took her arm, saying, "From now on, I am your family."

"Pfft—"

A soft laugh came from under the red veil.

Bai Ye immediately released the other person and stepped back to a suitable distance. "Sister, I apologize for the offense. I mainly wanted to make my position clear."

"You're doing great, keep it up! If you do a good job, I'll give you a red envelope too."

Bai Ye was so happy she almost fainted.

This is such a heavenly happiness instance! If all errand services received customers this easy to talk to, I could do another hundred orders!

Bai Ye followed the bride upstairs and escorted her to the bridal chamber.

He had glanced at the room briefly before, but now that he was inside, he looked around and found nothing strange about it.

The bed and wardrobe are both made of solid wood, using the finest mahogany. The bed is covered with a bright red wedding quilt, the outer layer of which is satin and embroidered with a pattern of mandarin ducks playing in the water.

I don't know which kind person scattered many flower petals on it.

The bride was sitting on the wedding bed, her head still covered by a veil.

Bai Ye thought that this should be unveiled by the groom when they drink the nuptial wine together at night.

But the next second, the bride stretched out her hands and, supporting her neck, started snapping and cracking.

The head, covered with a red veil, was thus removed, looking so fresh and delicate.

Take it off?

Take it off!

Holy crap!

Bai Ye stared wide-eyed, dumbfounded, and slow to react.

What's going on?

The bride reached out and touched her neck, finding a pool of blood. She didn't mind and wiped it on the bedsheet.

Then, twisting his neck and looking around, as if he had finally found the right direction, he said, "Come here."

Bai Ye felt a chill run down his spine and hadn't recovered yet.

The bride was getting impatient. "Hurry up and come here!"

"Ah! Oh."

Bai Ye tried to ignore the bright red blood on the other person's neck and the bloody, mangled cut surface.

As you walk, you adjust your line of sight, but inevitably, to respect the other person, you must look straight ahead.

The scene ahead was horrific.

"Sister, what can I do for you?"

Bai Yexin was trembling, but for the sake of the red envelope, he felt he could still endure it.

Without a word, the bride simply threw her head over, and Bai Ye caught it instinctively. The round, bloody head fell into his arms.

"?"

"!"

Bai Ye was now trembling all over.

"Sis, this isn't a good idea. I mean, only your brother should be able to hold your head."

The bride laughed, "You're a young person, why are you so particular about these things? It's alright, just don't lift the veil."

"No way! How could I dare!"

Who knows what's under the veil? What if it's even more frightening?

Despite her thoughts, what she actually said was, "Sister, you're the bride, the groom has to lift your red veil. Who dares to take my job? That would be treason!"

"Okay, you can hold it. Sigh, it's just that this headdress is really too heavy, it makes my neck hurt."

As it spoke, the headless body twisted and turned, one hand constantly rubbing its neck.

After massaging for a while, he felt uncomfortable and said, "Come here and massage my shoulders."

Bai Ye held her head, feeling numb, but still weakly resisted, "Isn't that a bit inappropriate? Sister, your head is so precious, if I don't hold it, I don't know where to put it."

"Put it in my arms."

Bai Ye wanted to say no, but the words that came out were, "Okay, sister, I'll listen to you, sister."

The round head was placed back in the bride's arms. Bai Ye told her to get up, move to the dressing table, and sit down in a chair.

He stood behind the chair, massaging her shoulders and neck.

The dressing table had a large mirror, and Bai Ye could clearly see herself and the other person.

His face was deathly pale, and his lips were trembling.

The other person was dressed in red, and the liquid flowing from their neck was even bright red, yet they were leisurely swaying from side to side, seemingly enjoying a massage.

"Yes, a little to the left."

"On the right side, there's a little numbness. I fell asleep while sitting in the sedan chair."

"Put some effort into it, haven't you eaten?"

Bai Ye smiled and nodded in agreement.

However, with a sudden exertion, half of the bride's body collapsed.

It collapsed!

Oh my god!

The people in the White Night were terrified. Would this result in their pay being docked?

"Sister, I didn't mean to." Bai Ye was on the verge of tears.

The thought of customers potentially giving bad reviews and having my pay docked is so painful it makes me feel like I can't breathe.

The bride's body was half collapsed, but the other half could still move. She reached out and grabbed herself, lifted herself up, and then pieced herself back together.

"It's alright, it's fine now."

Bai Ye nodded, and dared not use too much force during the rest of the massage.

The bride kept whining, saying "not bad" one minute and "not good" the next. After more than an hour of this, she finally said, "Alright, it's almost noon, let's leave it at that."

After saying that, she picked up her head and placed it in front of the dressing table.

She turned her head and then lifted the red veil.

A pair of bloodshot eyes were wide open, staring directly at the body, and a smile appeared on them. "That feels so good, my shoulder finally doesn't hurt anymore."

After saying that, she looked up and smiled even more broadly, "Thank you, your cooking is excellent."

Bai Ye couldn't dodge in time and met those eyes. The other person said "thank you," but he could clearly see that those eyes were bleeding "drip drip drip" from their smiles.

Blood flowed down like tears, and his pale face was instantly flushed with color.

"My makeup is ruined, I need to touch it up."

The bride pulled out a set of cosmetics from somewhere, bent down, and focused on applying her makeup.

Bai Ye wanted to leave, but he couldn't. He clearly remembered what the groom had said: there was another ceremony before lunch.

Is it pretty?

The bride lifted her body, resting her head on the dressing table, her mouth opening and closing.

Bai Ye snapped out of his reverie, "tried" to take a good look, and nodded, "The bride is always the most beautiful at her wedding."

"You certainly know how to talk," the bride said, continuing her makeup.

Bai Ye added, this time with real sincerity, "Sister, I'm serious. Whether you wear makeup or not, you'll always be the most beautiful. Because you're the happiest today, happiness is written all over your face. Joy makes people smile, and happiness makes people feel fulfilled."
