Chapter 210 The Intruder in the Room

Chapter 210 The Intruder in the Room

After countless names were rejected, I finally decided on the little one's name: [Feifei].

"Oh dear, is Phoenix the only thing that comes to mind when talking about the phoenix? What a barren imagination."

As I pushed open the door and stepped out of the workshop, I could hear Alice behind me scoffing as if it were none of her business: "Well, at least they're much better than the previous ones."

“The ones you took aren’t much better,” I said irritably.

Strange terms like "immortal fire meteor," "fire spirit soaring through the sky," and "the most favored companion of the sun" have appeared. Putting aside whether these names, which have a slightly weird chuunibyou vibe, can be pronounced smoothly, they don't even sound good!

"He's so handsome!"

Alice grumbled, "It's cooler than your tacky 'Nini,' 'Firebird,' and 'Solar'!"

"But those are easier to call out!"

"How tacky!"

"It's clearly more convenient!"

"Uh...did I come at the wrong time?"

Following the sound, Hikari, carrying a plate of steaming cookies, stood awkwardly at a distance, glancing around the passageway as if considering whether she should leave.

After exchanging another glare with Alice, we almost simultaneously moved closer to the girl.

"Hikari, you've come at the perfect time..."

"Ah, these are delicious cookies!"

I was just about to share my discovery and gains with the girl when I was interrupted by the sound of her eagerly stuffing cookies into her mouth.

The perpetrator blinked innocently and said, "Go on, I was just in charge of eating."

Wasn't what this guy just ate enough?

But I couldn't vent my anger because Hikari was smiling gently and even offered us the cookie plate she was holding: "It's okay, have more. I baked a lot more that I haven't brought out yet."

"...Forget it, let's just ignore this guy."

I stared speechlessly at Alice's ravenous appearance, as if she hadn't eaten in centuries. After trying to speak for a while without success, I simply snatched the plate from her and shoved it into her arms, then shook my head and dragged the girl away into the distance.

The crisp chewing sounds kept coming from behind me, like a deliberate provocation, or vaguely like a rabbit munching on a carrot.

"We really don't get along."

After walking a long distance, until I finally realized I couldn't hear the faint footsteps and chewing sounds following me anymore, I gradually slowed down and had the mind to talk to the girl next to me.

Hikari smiled sweetly, her eyebrows curving upwards: "That's exactly what you said, and we were having a good chat just now."

"I just have a question I want to ask."

I turned my face away, and after a second, I realized where I was standing.

Unexpectedly, the hurried walk just now led directly from the workshop entrance at the far left end of the library corridor to my own door. It seems that I'm used to the way back, and my subconscious automatically navigated to the vicinity.

He stole a glance at the girl beside him; her delicate cheeks were fair with a rosy blush, just like a peach. She must have noticed where they were.

She hesitated, then quietly pulled her wrist away and gently scratched my palm: "No...please let me in?"

You can open my door anytime you want, so why are you shy now and worried about seeing something you shouldn't?

I carefully recalled the layout of the room when I woke up that morning, making sure that I hadn't carelessly left clothes lying around or carelessly discarded crumpled papers and travel guides, before nodding gently: "You can come in anytime."

The slightly itchy sensation on my palm paused for a few seconds, followed by the feeling of my fingertips being forcefully scraped.

It didn't hurt, which was quite strange.

It seems that the index and middle fingers are bent and brought together, mimicking a kitten retracting its nails and rubbing against each other with the proximal knuckles.

Composing myself, I placed my hand on the doorknob and applied slight pressure—

The unexpected touch startled me.

"Hmm? What happened, Mr. Yumi?"

The weight on my shoulder increased slightly, presumably because Hikari rested her head on my shoulder to see the view I was blocking. Given the height difference between us, this should be a perfect position where she only needs to stand on her tiptoes.

However, the timing is really bad...

I watched awkwardly as the door, which hadn't been closed at all for some reason, was pushed open slightly by the force, revealing its contents—

The bed, haphazardly pushed against the wall, still bearing traces of yesterday's sleep and discarded clothes, was a messy table piled high with packaged snacks and fresh fruit. Books were scattered haphazardly, even taking up most of the foothold. And there was an antique object with a screen displaying the word "Pause"—a correction device, which I only recently learned about; its name seemed to resemble a computer.

Then, noticing us approaching, the black-haired girl, in the chaos, didn't know where to hide. Instead, she tripped over the pile of books beside her, letting out a sharp cry of pain before falling to the ground with a thud and a jolt... The only word I can use to describe the scene before me is chaos.

A brief silence descended.

Stiffly making the motion of reaching out to rub her buttocks, the black-haired girl took a long time to remember to slowly open her subconsciously closed eyelids, revealing a pair of bright, dark red eyes.

She looked us up and down, her mouth instantly forming an "O" shape. She jumped up abruptly, pointed at us, and shouted, "I understand! You're going to do what SeSe does!"
