Chapter 136 Initiative

Tanaka took a deep breath to suppress his anger and replied, "I'm resting in the guest room. I promised her I'd see her with you tomorrow."

Zhuang Yihao: "Then let her have one more comfortable night. Now tell me in detail what you talked about after you met."

Li Ke did return to her guest room, but she didn't rest. She carefully inspected the room, dismantling anything suspicious and throwing it out the window. The person outside heard the sounds of her dismantling things, knocked on the door, looked around, but didn't stop her. Li Ke then slammed the door shut again.

After dismantling the house, Li Ke took out a pair of binoculars from his clothes and began to observe the situation outside. The snow was deep, and Tanaka and the others had built a snow track, so Li Ke couldn't see anything from this window.

Using the furniture in the house to cover the door, Li Ke carefully observed that no one was outside before climbing out the window and onto the top floor. She found a snow-gray cloth in her spatial storage, draped it over herself, lay down on the roof, and carefully observed her surroundings with binoculars.

A small team of ten appeared from the distant entrance of the snow track and then walked into the snowstorm. Li Ke felt a little regretful, wondering if these people would be able to come back tomorrow.

A short while later, Li Ke saw another group of people appear in another direction. These people were all wrapped up quite tightly, but the leader had a striking presence. Li Ke observed him closely for a while and was about 80-90% certain that this person was Zhuang Yihao.

As the camera moved, Li Ke spotted a woman being supported among the group of people. Although her head and face were covered, the thick cotton-padded coat she was wearing looked somewhat familiar to Li Ke.

With a quick thought, Li Ke realized that Zhuang Yihao had brought Li Meng over, presumably to use her to control her.

A short while later, the unconscious Li Meng was handed over to another person, while Zhuang Yihao led a group of his men into the ski slope, heading in her direction.

It seems that Tanaka met with Zhuang Yihao in advance, and the two of them must be discussing how to deal with her. Li Ke lay on the roof for a while longer, and after finding nothing, she climbed back into the room.

There was a persistent knocking on the door. Li Ke brushed the snow off her clothes, moved the furniture back, and opened the door. The person guarding the door breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Li Ke: "What are you doing in the room? Why didn't you answer the door?"

Instead of answering, Li Ke asked, "Are there any guests downstairs? I think I heard some noise."

The two guards at the door exchanged a glance before saying, "Don't pry into things that don't concern you. You'd better answer the door when we knock, or don't blame us for forcing our way in."

As instructed above, we should be polite to this woman, but not too polite, lest she become too arrogant.

Li Ke stepped outside, looked at both sides of the corridor, and asked the two, "Are there only the three of us on this floor now?"

Upon hearing Li Ke's words, the two looked at him warily: "Our people are everywhere in the stairwell and downstairs. I advise you not to get any funny ideas."

Li Ke has already checked; there are no cameras in the corridor. Under the current conditions, many things are to be saved wherever possible. Cameras are resource-intensive, and without the network, many are just for show. But Li Ke will still keep an eye on it.

Li Ke stepped back into the room: "I just felt a bit bored by myself, and I couldn't fall asleep. Since you guys are going to be watching over me anyway, I thought I might as well come in and play some cards to kill some time."

The two men looked at the playing cards in Li Ke's hand, and with the invitation from a beautiful woman, they began to waver. In fact, they were used to being relaxed and found it quite boring to stand guard outside the door.

"Aren't you coming in? Then forget it." Li Ke noticed their hesitation and deliberately closed the door slowly.

"It's no big deal to play for a while," one of them suddenly said. Li Ke smiled, stepped aside, and made way for the two to enter.

As the second person entered the room and closed the door behind them, Li Ke simultaneously threw two throwing knives at their throats.
