Li Ke didn't get a good night's rest either. This was probably because she originally had a pure heart, but now she had the trouble of acquiring a batch of ill-gotten wealth. She had made her first shopping list, but the problem was how to spend all the money she had.
There has been no movement from Zhang Tao's family, probably because they dare not call the police; he can spend his money however he wants.
She doesn't dare to inquire about Qingshan Temple now. They certainly wouldn't dare to call the police about this money, but who knows if they might hire some desperate criminals to investigate?
Moreover, they might not even have realized that the treasure vault has been robbed yet.
Li Ke had a dream all night long. In the dream, he kept buying and buying. When he went to pay, all the gold and cash in his space popped out, and a group of fully armed policemen fell from the sky.
In her dream, Li Ke suddenly became an ordinary person with no strength to even kill a chicken, and could only surrender. As a result, the person who led the capture of her took off his mask, revealing a smug and wicked smile: "I'll gladly accept all your things."
Li Ke was so angry that she pounced on him, wanting to bite him to death, and then she woke up. It was truly a nightmare that ruined her mood.
Li Ke ate breakfast outside, then disguised himself as a middle-aged man and headed to the park.
His current appearance is somewhat bloated and short. He is wearing a slightly unfashionable long-sleeved shirt and trousers. After arriving at the park, he did not immediately go to the location the person in charge of obtaining the certificate had mentioned.
Instead, Li Ke found a high vantage point overlooking the area and texted the person, asking, "Have you arrived yet?"
The other person replied instantly: "I've arrived. Where are you? What are you wearing?"
Li Ke had already spotted a man below, carrying a small black bag under his arm, dressed in gray clothes, and looking down at his phone. He was the only man around who was using a phone.
Li Ke replied, "I'll be right there, please wait a moment. May I ask what your attire is like?"
The message came in, and the other party replied: "Clad in gray, carrying a black bag."
Li Ke had already started walking down the path, but she felt a little uneasy. Returning to a society governed by the rule of law, she always had some psychological burden when doing these things.
But the other party's straightforwardness and lack of concealment made her seem overly cautious and timid.
Li Ke approached the man and asked, "Are you here to get a certificate?"
As the other person replied, they looked Li Ke up and down. Li Ke, still wearing a mask, calmly said, "Let me check the things first."
The man looked around and pointed into the distance: "Let's go over there. There are fewer people there, so you can take your time looking around."
Li Ke was on tenterhooks, but she nodded and followed the man to a less crowded area.
The two sat down on the bench. The man opened his black leather bag, took out three driver's licenses, and handed them to Li Ke. Li Ke took them and saw that the photos on them were the ones she had provided.
The man then handed over three more ID cards. Li Ke laughed in anger as soon as she saw them. The ID cards looked real, but none of them matched the photos she had provided.
At most, they match in gender and age, and if we're being too far-fetched, their face shapes are somewhat similar.
Li Ke could tell at a glance that these ID cards must have been stolen or obtained by other means. They were genuine, but they were not usable.
Li Ke returned the driver's license and ID card: "None of these photos look like the real person. The ID card and driver's license don't even show the same face. How can we use this?"
"Why are you so stubborn? You only need your driver's license or your ID card. As long as you don't run into any checks, who cares? You can't really think that three thousand yuan can get you a real identity that lets you take the high-speed rail and airplane without any flaws in the system, can you?" The other person also felt that Li Ke was too naive, and his tone was a little anxious. He didn't want to come away empty-handed.
Li Ke: ...I've learned a lot.
But she still wouldn't give up: "How much would it cost to create a flawless real identity? Can you do it? I have the money."
The other person looked at me like I was an idiot: "What are you dreaming about? That's ridiculous. Only the government can do something like that. If I could, would you even know me?"
The other person looked at Li Ke with an expression that suggested he was ignorant and delusional, and said, "You should be content. My ID card is genuine. You can try it in a more remote place too."
Li Ke sighed: "Each face is worlds apart. How can you say that without feeling guilty? My money is hard-earned, it's all sweat and toil!"
"Alright, alright, I give up. Here, take it, look around here and see if you can find anything more similar. These three are the ones I carefully selected from the pile. Don't think I didn't put in any effort." As he spoke, the man took out a thick stack of ID cards from his bag and handed them to Li Ke, letting him choose for himself.
Li Ke took the stack of ID cards and felt they were burning hot. The pressure of doing this in broad daylight was too great. She really preferred to do things in the dark.
"Don't worry, I'm watching around. I'll warn you if anyone comes near. Look at you, so timid. It's the most troublesome and thankless job to make money off people like you. You don't have the guts, but you want to cause trouble..." The man lit a cigarette and urged Li Ke on.
Li Ke snatched his cigarette and stubbed it out on the stone slab: "I was just diagnosed with lung cancer, so I can't be exposed to secondhand smoke."
The other party quickly retracted his curse, his expression changing from anger ("Are you alright?") to remorse ("I was wrong"). The man sincerely said, "Brother, please don't give up on treatment. Here, take your pick again, and I'll give you a 20% discount if you see something you like."
Li Ke, holding up her ID card, replied, "It's precisely because I don't want to give up that I'm looking for you, thinking of taking the risk."
