"Okay, you go to the E City base first and wait for me there. I'll contact you again."
After saying that, Chen Hu hung up Lin Zhigang's phone without saying when he would arrive outside the E City base.
He was like an old fox, engaging in a psychological battle with Lin Zhigang.
Lin Zhigang was also helpless against Chen Hu.
Hua Mi and Gong Yi exchanged a glance, then looked at the darkening sky outside.
Hua Mi said,
"That's enough for today, let's take a nap here first."
Because Gong Yi no longer needs to repair the city walls, they can now spend the night outside with their children.
This time they found a small safe zone, which was an abandoned building.
The building was spacious, but drafty everywhere.
However, because Hua Mi and Gong Yi had two children with them, Hua Mi didn't plan to sleep outside to rest.
Having a drafty, abandoned building is better than having none at all.
She unloaded the luxury RV in the building's lobby, and Gong Yi took his brother and sister into the RV.
Lin Zhigang, standing to the side, looked at the suddenly appearing RV with surprise, then turned to Hua Mi and asked:
Is this RV a space from a novel?
In his spare time, Lin Zhigang actually read one or two novels.
I vaguely know that in cultivation novels, there are things like storage rings.
He guessed that Hua Mi might also possess similar advanced technology that could be used as a spatial device.
Hua Mi didn't explain much to Lin Zhigang; he simply nodded.
In fact, her special ability is far more complex and advanced than a simple storage space.
She placed a smaller RV next to her luxury RV and said to Lin Zhigang,
"You can stay in this RV."
Lin Zhigang waved his hand.
"I'm going to be very busy tonight; I have to fix the power grid here."
After saying that, he skillfully took out the electric grid from his back and set it up one by one on the leaky holes in the building.
Looking at Lin Zhigang's diligent work ethic, Hua Mi said to his retreating figure:
"Actually, you don't need to take it so seriously. Dr. Lin, this isn't really your job."
She hadn't expected Lin Zhigang to be such a perfectionist.
Lin Zhigang simply turned around and smiled at Hua Mi, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and continued to diligently build his electric grid.
Seeing this, Hua Mi stopped trying to persuade him. Everyone has their own ambitions, and not everyone in the apocalypse lives simply to survive.
Even in the apocalypse, people have their own dreams and things they insist on doing.
She let Lin Zhigang do his work, got up and went into the RV, where she saw Gong Yi skillfully helping her older and younger siblings practice lifting their heads and rolling over.
Gong Yi held a bell in his hand, twirling it around on his brother and sister's heads. Seeing Hua Mi enter the RV, Gong Yi said:
"You and that Dr. Lin seem to be quite familiar with each other."
Hua Mi glanced at Gong Yi with a puzzled expression.
"We're not that close, we've only known each other for a short time."
Gong Yi hummed in agreement.
Just when Hua Mi thought he had nothing more to say and was about to rest,
Gong Yi suddenly said in a sour tone:
“You and I haven’t known each other for very long, yet you already have two children.”
For a moment, Hua Mi didn't understand what Bai Gongyi meant by that.
She blinked her fox-like eyes and looked at Gong Yi.
So what is Gong Yi trying to say?
Gong Yi, however, remained cold, letting out a snort from his nostrils.
"Go to sleep. You'll have the energy to help others repair the power grid when you're well-rested."
Hua Mi still didn't understand what was wrong with Gong Yi. She even nodded and said to Gong Yi seriously:
"Dr. Lin is a good person; he fixed the power grid really well."
Gong Yi ignored her this time, not even glancing at her.
After Hua Mi climbed onto the headboard of the luxury RV and lay down to sleep, in a half-awake state, she only felt that Gong Yi had turned off the RV lights and placed the two children on the large bed at the back of the vehicle.
He coaxed the two children to sleep, and then watched Hua Mi for a while in the dark.
Then, Gong Yi climbed onto the bed and snuggled up next to Hua Mi.
Hua Mi turned over, her back to Gong Yi, and mumbled sleepily:
"What are you doing? What are you doing?"
Gong Yi placed his hand on Hua Mi's waist, pulling her closer into his arms.
Before Hua Mi could react, Gong Yi paused, and said in a very serious voice:
"Don't move, a group of survivors is coming this way."
Hua Mi turned around and looked at Gong Yi in the dim light inside the RV.
By this time she was fully awake and asked:
"What do we do? A very powerful team? They don't seem to have any friendly intentions?"
Gong Yi didn't answer, but instead rolled over and landed on top of Hua Mi.
"There's nothing we can do. It will probably take several more hours for that group of survivors to get here."
The zombies around them had already been cleared away by Gong Yi's mental power, and the group of survivors was still a long way from the ruined building where Gong Yi was.
Behind them, a group of zombies lingered.
So by the time they arrived, it was enough for Gong Yi to teach Hua Mi a lesson.
A rustling sound came from the bed.
In the distance, shrouded in darkness, Hu Yanxiang led Qu Yimin and several other men who had followed him out of the E City base.
They mingled with a group of survivors, killing zombies along the way and shaking off their pursuit.
