“Then I’m willing.” Lu Xiaoyu immediately smiled. “I also want to stay with Sister Zhi Qiu and Grandma!”
Rong Hong and Shen Zhi Qiu exchanged a smile. They were relieved to see that Lu Xiaoyu had finally agreed to stay in the capital to study.
"Then it's settled. Xiaoyu, just stay here and relax. Uncle will take care of everything, and then you can go to school."
There are still a few months until the next semester starts. Your uncle will have someone find you a good tutor.
"Thank you, Uncle." Lu Xiaoyu was overjoyed and immediately stood up to bow to Rong Hong to express her gratitude.
"Child, sit down, sit down." Rong Hong pulled Lu Xiaoyu to sit down beside him. "No need to thank Uncle. Uncle should thank you for taking care of Grandma on behalf of your sister Zhi Qiu."
"It seems the house is getting more and more lively, that's great!"
Yan Yan came out with a smile, carrying a teacup and a plate of sliced fruit. "I cut some fruit, let's all have some together."
As she spoke, Yan Yan placed the fruit plate in the center, then rotated the less sweet star fruit and other fruits around to bring the less sweet fruits closer to Rong Hong. She then handed a fruit fork to Rong Hong and sat down to his left.
Rong Hong smiled and took the fork, gave Yan Yan a grateful look, and then ate a piece of fruit.
Shen Zhi Qiu's brows furrowed slightly, but she didn't say anything.
Lu Jia gently grasped Shen Zhi Qiu's hand and shook her head slightly.
After chatting for a while, Rong Hong was clearly a little tired. He yawned and started to feel sleepy.
Yan Yan supported his shoulder at the right moment, looking worried. "Uncle Rong, are you sleepy? The doctor gave you some medicine before you came back, so it's possible that the medicine is working."
"Hmm, I guess so." Rong Hong squinted and yawned again.
"Dad, let me help you upstairs." Rong Mo frowned, stood up, walked to Rong Hong's side, bent down and helped him up.
Yan Yan lowered her eyes and stepped aside.
"No need, Yan Yan can come up with me. She knows the doctor's instructions best. Otherwise, I'll have to take some medicine later, and you don't know which ones to take." Rong Hong waved his hand, refusing Rong Mo's request, and turned to look at Yan Yan.
Yan Yan stepped forward and said gently, "Okay, Uncle Rong, I'll go up with you." Her voice was soft and pleasant, making people feel incredibly comfortable. Rong Hong looked at Yan Yan, his eyes filled with trust and reliance.
Seeing this, Rong Mo didn't know what to say. He reluctantly made way and watched Yan Yan and Rong Hong walk up the stairs together. His heart was filled with unease and worry.
Rong Hong hasn't been feeling well lately and needs more care and attention. Yan Yan is merely someone he hired to look after Shen Zhi Qiu, and she's only staying at the Rong family home recently because of her leg injury. Even though she's become friends with Rong Mo and Shen Zhi Qiu, she shouldn't interfere too much in Rong Hong's life.
Especially now, it seems that Yan Yan and Rong Hong have some unclear and ambiguous relationship.
Watching their figures disappear at the top of the stairs, Rong Mo frowned and looked at Shen Zhi Qiu, noticing that Shen Zhi Qiu's brows were also furrowed. The two exchanged a glance and sighed.
They all knew that Yan Yan's relationship with their father, Rong Hong, seemed to be getting more and more unusual. Rong Hong seemed to be starting to rely on her; otherwise, Rong Mo could have accompanied him up earlier.
Seeing that the two seemed to have something to say to each other, Lu Jia called Lu Xiaoyu to go to the room to pack her luggage, leaving the space to Shen Zhi Qiu and Rong Mo.
Rong Mo was filled with contradictions and inner turmoil. He didn't know how to face this fact.
Shen Zhi Qiu saw through Rong Mo's thoughts. She gently patted Rong Mo's shoulder and said, "How about this, brother, you talk to Dad and tell him that there are more and more people in the family now, and it's a bit crowded. Let Dad go back to the old house to live. Since you're worried about him, you can go back with him to take care of him."
Rong Mo nodded, a thought flashing through his mind, realizing it was a good idea.
It's dinnertime.
Taking advantage of the opportunity to call Rong Hong for dinner, Rong Mo closed the room door, preparing to have a private talk with Rong Hong.
Seeing Rong Mo close the door, Rong Hong sat up in bed with some confusion. "Didn't you say you were going downstairs for dinner? Why did you close the door again?"
“Dad, I want to talk to you.” Rong Mo walked over, pulled up a chair, and sat down on the edge of the bed, his face serious.
"Has something happened to Zhi Qiu?" Rong Hong asked worriedly, and immediately tried to get out of bed.
Rong Mo quickly pressed him down and comforted him in a low voice, "No, Zhi Qiu is fine, Dad. I just wanted to talk to you about your affairs."
"My business? What business of mine?" Rong Hong was a little confused.
"I discussed it with Zhi Qiu. Currently, Zhi Qiu and the children live in the villa, along with her friends Xiao Ran and Yan Yan. Now, Grandma and Xiao Yu have joined us, so..."
"So, how about we move to a bigger villa?" Rong Hong frowned and immediately offered a solution.
“No, Dad, that’s not what we meant.” Rong Mo pursed his lips. “We were thinking that maybe I should move back to the old house with you, so it would be more convenient for you to recuperate. Otherwise, it’s too noisy and crowded here.”
“Alright.” Rong Hong thought for a moment. “I’m getting old. Living here might block your way and be inconvenient.”
Rong Mo was stunned for a moment, then suddenly looked up at Rong Hong, looking at him with some surprise, "Dad, you know that's not what I meant."
For some reason, Rong Mo felt something was very strange.
Rong Hong would never have said such a thing before, nor could he have guessed their intentions in this way.
"Never mind, it's fine. Since you've decided this way, I'll go back then." Rong Hong said, getting out of bed to change his clothes and prepare to leave. "You don't need to come back with me to stay. You can stay here. Anyway, it's just one more person."
"Dad!" Rong Mo rubbed his forehead helplessly. "Why would you think that?!"
Rong Mo assumed that Rong Hong was just having a heart condition and was feeling unwell, which was why he was throwing a tantrum. So he didn't want to blame him and could only try to coax him, "Dad, Zhi Qiu and I are only thinking of what's best for you. We absolutely didn't mean anything by it. Please believe us, okay? You're our father, how could we possibly want to drive you away? We really just want what's best for you."
"Alright." Rong Hong frowned, as if he realized he shouldn't have said that, but for some reason, he seemed to have lost his temper just now, which seemed a bit unlike himself.
At the door, Yan Yan was about to call Rong Hong for dinner when she overheard their conversation.
Yan Yan lowered her eyes, immediately walked downstairs, and then took out her phone to send a message to Mrs. Chen.
