Chapter 6 No trouble.

Chapter 6 No trouble.

Lu Yu's question was like a cold stone thrown into Lin Che's silent heart, stirring up a circle of unexpected ripples, but soon returned to silence.

Lin Che raised her eyes, and her dark eyes, covered with a thin layer of ice, met Lu Yu's sharp scrutiny calmly.

He didn't dodge or hesitate. His cold voice resounded clearly in the empty and cold office, like the sound of jade clashing against each other.

"have."

One word.

It was decisive and without any emotion, but like an invisible ice pick, it accurately pierced through the subtle inquiry in Lu Yu's eyes.

Lu Yu's crossed fingers on the table curled up slightly, and his knuckles instantly tensed and turned white.

Deep in his deep eyes, it seemed as if some dark emotion suddenly surged. The emotion came quickly and violently, with a sharp and stabbing pain that even he himself had not expected, and instantly grabbed his heart.

But his ability to control his emotions has already reached perfection.

His face still had that calm and indifferent expression, and even his eyebrows didn't move.

The air in the office seemed to freeze for a few seconds, so heavy that it was suffocating.

In the end, it was Lu Yu who looked away first.

He lowered his eyes and returned his gaze to the agreement he had just signed. "The agreement is now effective."

Lu Yu's voice returned to its usual low and steady tone, without any hint of abnormality.

He picked up the intercom and quickly pressed a button.

"Cheng Yi, come in and file the agreement." He gave his instructions concisely and hung up the phone.

Cheng Yi quickly knocked on the door and came in. He picked up the folder on the table without looking around and retreated respectfully.

Lu Yu then looked at Lin Che again. The latter was still standing there, his posture upright but with a sense of alienation, as if the word "yes" just now was just a casual answer to an insignificant question.

"I have a meeting in half an hour." Lu Yu stood up, his tall figure bringing an invisible sense of oppression.

He walked around the desk and came in front of Lin Che, not too far away and not too close, just enough for him to clearly smell the clean scent mixed with a hint of mint on Lin Che's body.

Lu Yu always asked the central air conditioning in the room to be turned on very low. Lu Yu glanced at the thin shirt on Lin Che.

With a soft "beep" sound, the sound of the wind from the indoor central air-conditioning outlet became noticeably softer, and the originally strong cold wind turned into a constant temperature.

"The air conditioning is too strong. It's easy to catch a cold." Lu Yu explained lightly, his eyes once again sweeping over Lin Che's thin white shirt.

Then, he picked up the intercom again: "Send in some snacks and drinks, please..." He paused, his eyes resting on Lin Che's face, "Is there anything you shouldn't eat?"

Lin Che was a little surprised. "No need to go through so much trouble."

"Then just give me something." Lu Yu hung up the phone and pointed to an inconspicuous door on the side of the office. "That's the lounge. There are beds inside. If you're tired, you can go in and rest." Then he added, "No one will disturb you."

Lin Che pursed her lips, stunned by Lu Yu's meticulous arrangements.

"The afternoon meeting still has two hours left. Cheng Yi took the agreement to finalize the marriage. I kept you here because I wanted to invite you to dinner tonight." Lu Yu's low voice was neither slow nor slow, and it sounded even clearer and colder in the empty office.

Lin Che grabbed her rolled-up sleeves awkwardly, "No need to bother. If you're really busy... I..."

Lu Yu raised his head and interrupted him, "It's not a problem."

The corners of his mouth seemed to curl up in a very faint, almost invisible arc, as if to comfort him, "The restaurant is booked, it's nearby, a very quiet place. Let's just consider it... as a start to these three years, ok?"

Lu Yu's tone was terrifyingly calm, and his words of persuasion and guidance made all of Lin Che's prepared excuses get stuck in his throat.

Lu Yu's attitude was just the right amount of softness, not being aggressive, yet making it difficult for people to refuse this reasonable invitation based on a "beginning".

Lu Yu's gaze also fell on Lin Che, and he saw the lingering weariness between his cold brows. "Go get some rest."

"Mr. Lu, the meeting is about to start." Cheng Yi reminded quietly at the door.

After Lu Yu left, Lin Che was the only one left in the empty office. The quiet atmosphere made Lin Che feel like he was immersed in Lu Yu's cedar scent, and every breath made him struggle.

The light pink ears are hiding his truest emotions.

There were no outpatient clinics in the afternoon, so Lin Che took half a day off to rest. He hadn't rested well in the past few nights, and his face was filled with deep fatigue.

The perfect temperature and the soft sofa made Lin Che drowsy. He pulled himself together, stood up, and walked to the French window, taking in the beautiful scenery before him.

He recalled Lu Yu's question just now.

"Is there anyone you like?"

Lin Che smiled, a bitter taste in her mouth, as if her craving for cigarettes had kicked in. She glanced around and wondered how someone as shockingly clean as Lu Yu could possibly have cigarettes. She lowered her head, smiled, and licked her lips before letting it go.

The desserts and drinks brought in on the coffee table, as well as the wool blanket that Lu Yu had specially taken out to cover the sofa, were all left intact in their original places.

Lin Che set a 40-minute alarm on his phone, sat sideways on the sofa, rested his head on the edge of the sofa backrest, and closed his eyes.

"How much more content is there?" Lu Yu interrupted the Finance Department's report.

"There are still about forty minutes left." Cheng Yi looked at the report and whispered in Lu Yu's ear.

Lu Yu frowned and looked down at the parrot green watch on his left hand with a deep gaze.

"Mr. Lu...Mr. Lu, is there anything wrong with our report?" The Minister of Finance asked cautiously, wiping the sweat from his temples.

"No, continue."
