Chapter 651 You're the heartless one

"How are you feeling today?" a male voice suddenly asked.

Gu Fanyan raised her face and smiled slightly; the person she had arranged to meet had arrived.

The man was tall, with deep-set eyes and a high nose bridge, indicating that he had mixed foreign ancestry.

“It feels pretty good,” Gu Fanyan replied. “It would be even better if you could come half an hour earlier.”

“Oh,” the man said dismissively, “My Miss Gu, so what if I’m half an hour later? The business projects will still operate, and the money will still go into your pocket.”

“You’re too tense,” he shook his head. “You need to learn to enjoy life while making money.”

“I don’t quite understand what you’re saying, but if you had arrived half an hour later, I wouldn’t have signed this contract with you.”

Gu Fanyan pushed a contract in front of him, "I have to catch a flight to another city in three hours."

He'd better hurry up!

He picked up the contract and scanned it line by line, paying close attention to its contents.

After a moment, he put the contract down. "The contract can be signed, but there is one additional condition."

"What?"

"I have a family dinner tonight, will you come with me?"

"Not only will I sign this contract, but I will also give you 10% of the project's shares." He stated his terms before Gu Fanyan could object.

Gu Fanyan frowned: "I said I have to rush in three hours..."

The man gave a shushing gesture with his long thumb. "Ten percent of the shares in this project is enough for you to sign several contracts like that."

Gu Fanyan pursed her lips tightly, her expression revealing displeasure.

The man deflated, his cool demeanor instantly turning into a fawning expression. "Alright, alright, I'll speak like a human being. My grandma gave me a death order: if I don't bring you back today, I'm never going back again."

Gu Fanyan's expression softened. "I can see Grandma, but I won't go with you."

The man signed his name on the contract and said, "Congratulations, Mr. Gu, on securing another big project."

Gu Fanyan ignored his glib talk, put the contract into her briefcase, and got up to leave.

The man paid the bill, gave a tip, and followed.

“Don’t follow me,” Gu Fanyan said. “I have things to take care of. I’ll visit Ms. Dai Lili at your house later.”

"You're going south, aren't you?" The man grabbed her car door. "You can't get to the 17th floor without me taking you there."

Gu Fanyan's heart skipped a beat; what he said was true.

After all, she wasn't a local, and having him guide her would save her a lot of trouble.

"Get in the car." Gu Fanyan nodded slightly.

The man got into her sports car.

The sports car slowly drove out of the parking lot.

All of this was observed by Lin Zhibai.

He sat in the same restaurant where Gu Fanyan had just been sitting, in the same spot, and through the floor-to-ceiling window next to the table, he could see the parking lot.

"Sir, your coffee." The waiter brought the food and glanced outside, following his gaze.

"She's a very beautiful woman." The waiter was also deeply impressed by Gu Fanyan's beauty.

"Do you know that man?" Lin Zhibai asked, while pressing a generous tip on the table.

The waiter took the tray back and also received the tip.

"That is Mr. Liang Zixin," the waiter said. "One of the top ten richest families in the country, ranked third in the latest rankings this year."

"Is he married?" Lin Zhibai asked.

The waiter nodded. "I heard that his wife is a beautiful woman from the East. Everyone who has seen her says she is as beautiful as an Eastern goddess... However, she never gives interviews or appears in the public media."

"Is she even prettier than that beautiful woman from before?" The waiter, clearly not making any connection, turned and left.

Lin Zhibai muttered to himself, "Liang Zixin."

Night falls.

A sports car drove into Liang Family Garden.

The Liang family's villa is located in the city's most prestigious affluent area, and within that area, the Liang family's house occupies one of the largest and most spacious plots of land.

After running for almost two minutes, we finally bypassed the large garden and arrived at the house halfway up the hill.

"Young Master, Miss Gu!" The butler, accompanied by a nanny, greeted them warmly from outside.

Liang Zixin was somewhat displeased: "Where did everyone go? You're the one they sent to pick them up?"

Gu Fanyan visited twice, and both times her grandmother, Ms. Dai Lili, personally came out to greet her.

Even if there are too many guests today and Grandma can't come to greet them, his parents or siblings should at least come out.

The butler hurriedly said, "Young master, you misunderstand. A distinguished guest arrived just ten minutes ago, and everyone was in a flurry of activity. We haven't realized what's happening yet."

Liang Zixin frowned in confusion: "Distinguished guest? What distinguished guest?"

As they were talking, several elders walked out of the door, the one in the lead being Ms. Dai Lili, the matriarch of the Liang family.

She was in her sixties, with a full head of silver hair and a beautiful demeanor. In particular, her eyes showed no signs of aging and remained as pure and clear as a young girl's.

Dai Lili is her Eastern name, and like Liang Zixin, she has foreign ancestry.

"Fanyan!" Dai Lili held Gu Fanyan's hand affectionately, her eyes full of smiles: "It's so good that you could come."

"Hello, Grandma." Gu Fanyan greeted Dai Lili first, and then greeted the rest of the Liang family.

Gu Fanyan and Dai Lili have a connection that has nothing to do with Liang Zixin.

Although the Liang family had been trying to matchmake Gu Fanyan and Liang Zixin, Gu Fanyan had not agreed, so the Liang family did not say much.

"Please come in," Dai Lili led Gu Fanyan into the house. "We have a distinguished guest here today. He said he knows you."

Gu Fanyan was startled and immediately met a pair of familiar eyes.

Lin Zhibai was standing in the middle of the living room, talking to Liang Zixin's father.

"Sister Fanyan." Lin Zhibai raised his wine glass to her and smiled slightly.

Gu Fanyan nodded politely, thinking to herself that the Lin family and the Liang family had no business dealings at all, and Lin Zhibai's sudden intrusion here was probably for some other purpose.

Liang Zixin sneered: "So this is the distinguished guest from somewhere. It turns out to be the eldest young master of the Lin family, the former heartless man!"

Upon hearing this, the Liang family members were taken aback.

Gu Fanyan immediately gave him a disapproving look, "Zixin!"

She knew he wanted to speak up for her, but there was no need for it.

Lin Zhibai's expression darkened slightly, and his eyes flickered with intense emotion.

Liang Zixin's ability to say such things suggests that he has a close relationship with Gu Fanyan.

What did Gu Fanyan call him just now?

Zixin?

Are the two of them so close?

“Zixin,” Dai Lili also said, “Young Master Lin is here, so he is a guest. This is not how the Liang family treats its guests.”

Liang Zixin didn't care and snorted, "The Liang family's good family tradition is only for those who are loyal and righteous. We can't afford to entertain someone like Young Master Lin."

"You may wish to entertain Young Master Lin, but Fan Yan and I will leave now."

After saying that, he indeed took Gu Fanyan's hand, turned around and left.

Just as Lin Zhibai was about to speak, Dai Lili spoke up first: "Wait."

She stopped Liang Zixin, "Tell me, how is Young Master Lin heartless and ungrateful?"

Liang Zixin said, "Grandma, you know more about Fan Yan's matter than I do, don't you?"

Dai Lili's face darkened as she looked at Lin Zhibai: "So, the man who betrayed Fanyan is you, Young Master Lin?"

Her tone was already filled with anger.
