"Relying solely on belting out high notes to attract the audience’s attention?"
With just a few simple words, Meng Jin completely dismissed Wei Qinghe’s achievements.
"Many of your vocal techniques aren’t accurate, and your physical expressions are mediocre. Overall, it’s just average. You should practice more in your free time. Don’t just rely on hitting high notes to please the audience, hitting only high notes can damage your voice."
"Your partner is a bit better, every word and sentence are accurate, and the voice is youthful and vibrant. You have a bright future ahead, so keep persevering."
As Meng Jin completed her comment in a few words, she kept her gaze at Wei Qinghe even when she was commenting on Zhang Tianbin.
If Meng Jin hadn’t had the popular male singer before, it wouldn’t have mattered. Now that the show’s airing, all the clips of Wei Qinghe’s singing have received nothing but praise and positive comments from industry insiders.
But her words made them worthless.
It seemed like she came deliberately to pick a fight.
Even the male singer sitting next to her was taken aback, staring at her in disbelief: "The vocal techniques were correct and, besides, the climax of the song requires belting out high notes." What does she mean by using high notes to please the audience?
"It’s wrong, senior, didn’t you hear? It should have been higher." 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"That’s how it goes, first it’s smooth then there’s a twist, suddenly hitting the high notes, stunning the audience."
"No, listen to me, senior, at that part"
Yu Ting interrupted: "What the hell are you talking about?"
Not caring about Wei Qinghe’s dignity at all, Meng Jin spoke her mind. Yu Ting didn’t hesitate when she countered.
Though her voice was not loud when she said this, it was still enough for everyone in the first two rows and on stage to hear, leaving a stunned Wei Qinghe feeling deeply hurt.
The director sitting backstage: ...
She is reckless and inconsiderate, but he has to be! Damn, you can’t guess the mind of the rich. Stunned for a minute or two, he then turned and whispered a command to the staff: "Make sure to mute that."
"I understand."
Meng Jin was taken aback when she saw the young Yu Ting in the audience then glared at her ferociously. Just as she was about to say something, the host of the show changed the subject: "It seems that our four guests have nothing but high praises for the trainees. Let’s take a short break before we move on to the second round."
Is the host blind? Can’t he see the hostility Meng Jin is showing towards Wei Qinghe?
If he let her continue, God knows how much more Wei Qinghe would be criticized.
How strange, what could have happened between two people who never interacted before? Do they have some secret grudge against each other?
Regardless of his curious speculation, the host sided with Yu Ting.
Which is more important? Of course, the sponsor takes precedence.
With the host saying that, Meng Jin couldn’t continue to bicker on stage and had to back down, giving Yu Ting a final glare before following the other three mentors off the stage.
As she passed by Yu Ting, she gave her a spiteful look, continued walking until she reached Wei Qinghe, then said sternly: "If you don’t want to cause trouble, come with me."
Wei Qinghe had initially intended to ignore her, but at her words, his face changed instantly. Grinding his teeth, he stared at her before reluctantly getting up to follow her.
Yu Ting, with her keen senses, sensed something fishy between the two and quickly followed them out.
Meanwhile, elsewhere.
The first two who had left arrived in the break room. Just as Wei Qinghe was entering, Meng Jin glared at him, her face a mix of anger and amusement: "You’re in the entertainment industry? Do you think your background isn’t enough of a disgrace, and now you want to make it even more publicly known?"
