Chapter 96 - 95: Not Drinking is Disrespectful to Our Director Sun_1

Yu Ting had specifically asked a designer to help with her make-up today. Her face was clean, and the make-up highlighted her strengths and concealed her flaws excellently. Her long, fluttering eyeliner made her gaze more striking, and with her light eyes, her chilly personality immediately seemed much more elevated. It was absolutely stunning.

Only after Yu Ting walked off did the two men make any movement. Song Zhan walked side by side with her while the assistant awaited them below.

There were still fifteen minutes until the scheduled time, but the three of them had already entered the reserved private room 409. Not far from the staircase, a large table and dozens of seats awaited inside. The crew had already arrived, and the only seats left vacant belonged to the yet-to-arrive sponsors.

The series that Song Zhan had chosen was produced by an established production team. They had secured a role of the fourth male lead actor for one of the company’s artists, and although it might be because the series was too deeply meaningful and hard for many younger audiences to comprehend, causing its viewership and popularity never to take off, the series still had significant substance, making every collaboration profitable.

"Greetings to everyone from VG Entertainment," the middle-aged director leading the series stood up, leaning forward and extending his hand as a friendly gesture.

Yu Ting responded with a polite smile and greeted him in the same manner, shaking the director’s hand.

"Nice to meet you, Director Sun."

After shaking hands with Yu Ting, he shook hands with Song Zhan.

"Good to meet you, Director Sun."

They then found two adjacent seats and sat down.

As the agreed-upon time drew nearer, the number of people inside the private room also increased. These people might be representatives of certain companies or even company CEOs and senior executives.

Once everyone had arrived, they each gave a simple introduction of themselves, mentioning where they were from as a way to blend in with the crowd.

"I’m Amilly from Xingchuan Idol~"

"I’m from Southwest Entertainment..."

After everyone at the table had had their turn, it was Yu Ting’s.

"I am from VG Entertainment."

No sooner had she finished speaking than a voice of objection sounded.

"VG Entertainment? Never heard of it," said a young man in business attire, giving off an aura of a business elite.

"Eh, I’ve been in the industry for six or seven years now and haven’t heard about it. Guess it’s a new one."

"Guess so. I mean, if it had been established for a while, how could I not know about it?"

This initiated a discussion among the people in the private room. However, it didn’t bother Yu Ting. After she had finished introducing herself, she sat back down, responding, "Yes, it is indeed newly-established. We spent 100 million to come here and learn from Director Sun."

The under-the-table discussions stemmed from the fact that a newly established, unknown company could pull off such a big deal, undoubtedly due to the high price offered by VG.

Lacking status, the company had no choice but to compensate with money.

The moment the amount of 100 million was mentioned, the discussions quieted down a bit. It was a very formidable sum.

Song Zhan leaned slightly forward from his seat, saying, "I am Song Zhan from VG Entertainment."

The discussion that had just died down picked up again.

"Song Zhan... Where have I heard that name before...?"

After the round of introductions, those present had a more concrete understanding of the rise of this VG Entertainment and no longer underestimated it.

Then, it was time for the next person to introduce themselves.

As everyone took turns introducing themselves, the restaurant staff began serving the dishes. By the time everyone was done with their introductions and formalities, the food and drinks populated the table.

Most of the people present were men. Among nearly twenty people, only three were women.

Everyone promptly started to drink, toasting one after another.

In the beginning, it was Song Zhan who drank with them. But as some of the men progressively became drunk, their cheeks growing redder, they started to tease Yu Ting, encouraging her to drink as well.’

"You’ve landed such a big order. How can you not drink a glass?"

"Not drinking is an insult to our Director Sun. Come on, let’s pour her some red wine."

These things were trivial, but for some reason, Yu Ting felt like she was constantly under someone’s watchful gaze.
