Chapter 256 Peace Every Year

Jiang Ling opened her eyes wide and praised it: "You have learned so many words. It seems that you have made a lot of progress."

Foxy wagged his big tail and said in a cheerful voice, "Of course, I'm really good at it. I just helped my new host complete a big task a few days ago."

She touched its head, and it still felt so soft. "It's amazing."

Fox stayed with her until very late, and of course spent most of its time circling Zhou Xian. It was very curious about this human cub and kept observing him, but it only dared to touch his little fist with its furry little paws.

After the New Year's Eve palace banquet ended, the moon was already hanging high in the sky.

Zhou Jing'an rode his horse back home quickly. When he entered Qiyun Pavilion, Jiang Ling was patting Zhou Xian's back to coax him to sleep.

The chubby little face rested on Jiang Ling's shoulder, her little mouth was pouting, and her long eyelashes cast a small shadow.

He walked in quietly, saw how cute he looked and reached out to pinch his cheek. Jiang Ling said softly, "Don't wake him up."

Zhou Jing'an was satisfied and took his hand back, "Let me take him back."

He took the child, carefully wrapped the little cloak around him, and sent him back to the east wing.

She leaned over to look at him a few times, then turned and left with a smile.

As soon as he entered the room, he hugged Jiang Ling tightly and said in a soft voice: "Without you, the palace banquet will be even more boring."

Jiang Ling raised the corner of her mouth, pinched his face, and felt a chill, then frowned, "Did you come back on horseback?"

"I was anxious to come back to see you." He buried his head in her neck and rubbed it gently. "I missed you so much."

Jiang Ling laughed, "Don't ride a horse easily in the future. It's cold."

Zhou Jingan smiled and looked up, nodding obediently, "Okay, I'll listen to you, my lady."

Seeing him like this, Jiang Ling raised an eyebrow and asked, "Have you been drinking?"

He shook his head. "I haven't had a drop of alcohol."

He pestered Xia Zhixian for two days before she agreed to let him move back to the main hall. It was New Year's Day, and he didn't want to sleep separately from Jiang Ling. It had such a bad omen.

On New Year's Eve, he wanted to stick to her so that he would not be separated from Jiang Ling for the whole year.

After finally moving back home, he was afraid of being kicked out again if he drank, so he didn't dare touch it.

"Are you sleepy?" He asked her, leaning against her. "It's late. Go lie down and sleep. I'll go wash up and be back soon."

Jiang Ling nodded, "Okay."

After many days, Zhou Jing'an couldn't help but smile as he lay on the bed holding Jiang Ling again.

The tent was warm as spring, and it was too dark to see her face. He hugged her tightly and asked, "Ling'er, do you miss me?"

Jiang Ling laughed, "Don't we see each other every day? What's there to think about?"

"Although we see each other every day, Ling'er, don't you miss me when I'm not holding you at night?" He felt aggrieved.

She chuckled and coaxed him, "Yeah, I thought about it. I can't sleep every night without you by my side."

Although he knew that Jiang Ling was just trying to coax him, Zhou Jing'an still felt happy.

"It's New Year's Eve, Ling'er," he said.

Jiang Ling responded lightly, "Well, another year has passed."

He kissed her brow gently and whispered softly: "May you be safe and happy every year."

She raised the corners of her lips and heard him say again, "We will spend many, many New Year's Eves together."

To be together forever.

Jiang Ling raised her head, kissed his chin, and whispered softly, "Okay."

Then let’s stay together forever.
