Chapter 257 My name is Zhou Xian

My name is Zhou Xian. I am six years, three months and seven days old.

My mother is Princess Yunxi, named Jiang Ling, and my father is Young Master Zhou, named Zhou Jing'an.

Everyone in the capital says that I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth and that I have a destiny to be rich and powerful. They all say they want to be like me.

I'm not quite sure why they say that, maybe it's because my grandparents, grandparents-in-law, aunts and uncles all come from prominent families.

That’s right, there has never been a single person in my Zhou family who is not outstanding, and the Jiang family is also a similarly aristocratic family.

Everyone wants to be me, but my life is so boring every day!

Don’t disbelieve me? I’ll take you through it for a day and you’ll know.

At 2:30 am, I was woken up by my personal bodyguard. His name was Xiao Lang, and he was the bodyguard my father had found for me. He followed me every day, just like Uncle Ye Song and Uncle Ye Bai followed my father every day.

Xiao Lang is one year older than me. Although he was obviously very sleepy, he still forced himself to keep his eyes open to call me.

"Young Master, it's time to get up."

I responded, resigned myself to my fate, got up, washed and dressed, and said goodbye to my warm bed.

Coming out of the east wing, I passed by the main hall of Qiyun Pavilion. There was still no movement inside. My father and mother were still sleeping soundly.

Aunt Zizhen was standing outside the door. When she saw me, she bowed and called me affectionately, "Greetings, young master."

I nodded, forced a smile, turned and walked out.

When I walked out of the gate of Qiyun Pavilion, I saw Uncle Ye Song and Uncle Ye Bai standing outside. When they saw me come out, Uncle Ye Bai clasped his fists first. Uncle Ye Song came over, squatted down, and said with a smile, "It's not even dawn yet. You must have worked hard, young master."

The smile on my face should become very bitter, and I really want to say: It’s not hard work, it’s a hard life.

But who would believe me if I said that? I'm afraid he'd beat me up.

"Why hasn't Dad gotten up yet?" I asked.

Normally at this time my father should have been washing up and going to court after breakfast, but today there was no movement.

Uncle Ye Bo showed sympathy and said, "Take a day off today."

I was stunned. I actually forgot that today was a day off!

"Young Master, you have to hurry up, otherwise when he gets up to question us, we won't be able to do anything." Uncle Ye Song laughed so hard that I couldn't tell he was really reminding me.

I had no time to pay attention to him and hurried out.

On his days off, my father would get up at 5:30 a.m. to practice sword or spear techniques. I would watch him and show him the moves I had learned in the previous few days.

I was a little annoyed. I slept late yesterday and forgot about it.

"Xiao Lang, you should remind me." I walked quickly.

"It is my fault for failing in my duty. Please punish me, young master." His tone was respectful, but I was just saying that and would not punish him.

Walking out of Qiyun Pavilion, passing through three courtyards, I arrived at Xiuzhu Pavilion, which is my study. Two steps ahead is Xibaoxuan.

I think my father placed my study here so that he could check my homework at any time.

The door was open, and I walked in. The writing brush, ink, paper, and inkstone were already prepared on the desk. Another personal guard stood beside the desk and saluted, "Greetings, young master."

This is my other guard, named Xiao Shu.

I nodded and quickly sat down at the desk to review my lessons. I also had to finish the homework assigned by the teacher yesterday, have breakfast quickly, change clothes and go to Qiyun Pavilion to practice sword.

The task is heavy and time is running out.

"Xiao Shu, bring breakfast." I have to finish my homework while eating.

The yam and lily porridge made by the small kitchen today is sweet and not greasy, and it tastes good. However, the broth of the shrimp dumplings is too rich. It was so hot when I took a bite that my tongue trembled. I was afraid that the juice would splash on the paper, so I didn't dare to touch it again.

Fortunately, the homework was not difficult and it didn't take too much time to finish. I put down my pen, changed my clothes, and rushed to Qiyun Pavilion just in time.

My father had already stood up. When I heard the door open, I tightened my grip on the sword.

I heard footsteps behind me, and I danced with my sword even harder.

My father must be watching me. I felt a heavy gaze on my back, and I almost used the wrong move.

"Raise your hands higher."

The cold and stern voice startled me and I subconsciously raised my hands. I dared not be distracted any longer and practiced the entire set of moves in no time. I turned around and saluted, panting, "Dad."

He walked over to me and said, "Not bad, you need to practice more, don't slack off."

It should be considered a compliment. I breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. "Thank you, Dad. I will practice hard."

Looking up, I saw that my father was a dashing, handsome man, dressed casually in a black short-sleeved shirt and trousers, holding a sword in his hand, looking very handsome.

No wonder storytellers often make up stories with my father as the protagonist.

I was distracted when I heard him say, "Go to the training ground this afternoon. We'll test you and see if you've made any progress lately."

"Ah?" I was stunned and my shoulders slumped.

I know exactly who this "we" is. They tested me just a month ago, so why are they testing me again?

I heard my father chuckle, "Why? Don't want to?"

I glanced at the closed door. My mother wasn't awake yet and there was no one to support me, so how could I dare to say no?

"Dad, let's practice with the sword. Let me watch." I obediently hid under the eaves and watched my father wield the sword with great vigor, with each strike carrying murderous intent.

Well, now I dare not say I don’t want to.

After washing up again, I changed into the blue brocade robe that my mother had just bought for me. I grinned at the new clothes, and Xiao Lang reminded me that it was time to go to the teacher's class.

Before going out, I greeted my great-grandparents and grandparents. I tried my best to break free from my grandmother's arms and ran away quickly, saying that I was going to be late.
