003: "Well done, host. She's really caught off guard now." 003's tone was full of excitement, and it was proud of Lin Qian's wit and decisiveness.
Lin Qian and Su Yao fell into the water together, and the river instantly submerged them. Su Yao struggled desperately in the water, her arms and legs flailing about, and she screamed in terror. Her hair was disheveled in the water, and her makeup was washed away, making her look utterly wretched.
Lin Qian, however, moved with fluid grace thanks to her excellent swimming skills. Like a nimble fish, she swam effortlessly through the water. Taking advantage of the chaos, Lin Qian quickly swam towards a calmer section of the riverbank.
Once ashore, she quickly crouched down to minimize her exposure. Her clothes were soaked and clung tightly to her body, but she didn't care. She crouched low and quickly hid in the reeds nearby.
After Su Yao was pulled into the water by Lin Qian, the fear in her heart erupted like a flood breaking through a dam.
She struggled desperately in the water, flailing her arms and legs frantically, screaming in terror, "Help! Someone help me!" Her voice, sharp and piercing with fear, sounded unusually abrupt in the otherwise quiet riverside.
Her eyes were wide open, filled with fear and despair. Her face was contorted with extreme terror, and her once carefully made-up face was now a mess, soaked in the river and tormented by fear.
As Su Yao's terrified cries for help echoed through the air, nearby villagers were drawn to the scene. They had been busy with their own tasks, but upon hearing the cries, they all dropped what they were doing and rushed towards the riverbank.
Wang Qiang had been waiting in the shadows for this moment. When he heard Su Yao's cries for help, he jumped into the water without hesitation, following plan. His eyes were filled with urgency; he knew that once he saved Su Yao, he could proceed with the next step of the plan. He swam vigorously towards Su Yao, his arms paddling incessantly, eager to reach her as quickly as possible.
Zhao Yu, who had felt a sense of foreboding when he saw Lin Qian and Su Yao arrive at the riverbank from afar, felt a chill run down his spine. When he heard Su Yao's cries for help, his heart tightened, fearing for Lin Qian's safety, and he jumped into the water without hesitation. His face was filled with anxiety and worry, his eyes frantically searching for Lin Qian in the water. However, after searching for a while without finding her, Zhao Yu's heart sank. But Su Yao's cries for help grew increasingly desperate, so he had no choice but to swim towards her first.
After pulling Su Yao into the water, Lin Qian took advantage of the chaos and quickly swam away, thwarting Su Yao's plan.
After searching the water for a while, Zhao Yu finally found Su Yao. He pulled her forcefully towards him, and Wang Qiang swam over as well. Together, they swam towards the shore with Su Yao in their arms. Su Yao was exhausted from struggling in the water and had swallowed a lot of water. She had already passed out the moment she was pulled ashore.
Seeing this, Zhao Yu disregarded everything else and immediately began to provide first aid to Su Yao. He first performed CPR, one breath after another, his eyes filled with tension and worry. Then, he performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on Su Yao, completely oblivious to the stares of those around him.
Watching Zhao Yu perform first aid on Su Yao, Wang Qiang felt a surge of smug satisfaction, while a strange emotion also began to creep into his heart. His gaze was fixed on Su Yao, a calculating look in his eyes. He thought to himself, "Su Yao is quite pretty, really beautiful. Her face, her figureāif I could marry her, that would be wonderful."
Besides, her family is wealthy, and she's from the city. Even though this woman is a bit ruthless, so what? After marrying her, as long as I teach her a lesson and give her a few beatings, I'm not afraid she'll disobey. Which woman hasn't been beaten by a man? It's commonplace.
Thinking this, a smug smile crept onto Wang Qiang's face, as if Su Yao was already his. Listening to the villagers' gossip, his resolve strengthened. He felt that while their words were harsh, they held some truth. In his view, women were meant to be controlled by men, and Su Yao was no exception.
Wang Qiang's gaze grew increasingly resolute as he began to imagine his life after marrying Su Yao. He felt that with Su Yao's family background and appearance, he could finally hold his head high in the village and make those who had once looked down on him look at him with new respect. As for Su Yao's personality and methods, he was confident he had a way to make her docile and obedient.
At this point, the villagers who had gathered around began to discuss the matter more and more unrestrainedly.
"How did Su Yao end up falling into the water? And how did she get rescued by two men? There's quite a story behind this," a villager muttered under his breath, his eyes brimming with gossip.
"Of course! Does she want both men? That would be chaos!" Another villager chimed in, a malicious smile on his face.
"Su Yao's reputation isn't great to begin with, and now she's pulled this stunt." Another villager chimed in, their face showing disdain.
"Yeah, look at her, all sly and seductive. She's probably plotting something wicked again," an older woman said sourly, her eyes full of jealousy.
"Maybe she deliberately fell into the water to seduce those two men," an older woman said sarcastically, her voice just loud enough for those around her to hear.
"Wow, this Su Yao is really capable. She was saved by two men when she fell into the water. Who will she marry in the future?" A villager with a pointed mouth and monkey-like face said with a wink and a mocking look in his eyes.
The older women and their wives said even harsher things.
"That woman is a jinx; whoever marries her will be doomed." An older woman glared at Su Yao fiercely, cursing incessantly.
