Lin Qian lay lazily on the bed, her eyes fixed on the virtual screen projected by 003, which was showing a live feed of Su Erge and Su Yao in the grove. Her brows furrowed slightly.
"This Second Brother Su is not an easy character to deal with. I really don't know what he will do after he finds out about my dispute with Su Yao," Lin Qian muttered to herself, her lips unconsciously pursed, revealing her inner tension.
Lin Qian rolled over, finding a more comfortable position, but her eyes remained glued to the screen. "No matter what, I can't let my guard down; I have to be careful," she silently reminded herself.
"003, you keep a close eye on this second brother of the Su family. Tell me immediately if he makes any moves." Lin Qian's tone was urgent, and her eyes became even more determined, as if she was ready to face anything.
003 responded, "Don't worry, host, I will keep a close eye on his every move."
The next morning, sunlight streamed into the village, bringing a touch of warmth. Su Erge and Su Yao arrived early at the village chief's house. Su Erge wore a polite smile, but his eyes revealed a shrewdness and decisiveness.
"Village Chief, we've come today to thank Wang Qiang for saving Su Yao's life." Su's second brother said, handing over some gifts he was carrying to the village chief. "This is a small token of our appreciation. We would appreciate it if you could act as our intermediary and convey our gratitude to Wang Qiang's family." As he spoke, he secretly slipped several more gifts to the village chief.
The village chief looked at the gift Su Erge handed him, a troubled expression on his face, wanting to decline. But Su Erge was adamant, and seeing that he couldn't refuse, the village chief had no choice but to agree and led the two of them to Wang Qiang's house.
Upon arriving at Wang Qiang's house, Wang Qiang's mother's face immediately lit up with a smile when she saw the gifts Su Erge brought, and she warmly welcomed them into the house. Wang Qiang's mother was still thinking about marrying Su Yao to her son, and was about to bring it up, but Su Erge spoke first.
Su Erge smiled at Wang Qiang's mother and said calmly, "Wang Qiang's mother, I've come here for two reasons. First, to thank Wang Qiang for saving my sister's life, so I brought some gifts and prepared some money. Second, I also want to put this matter to rest. Let's leave it at that. From now on, don't bother my sister again, and don't mention marrying her to your son again." As he said this, Su Erge's eyes turned slightly cold, and the unspoken meaning in his words sent a chill down Wang Qiang's mother's spine.
Wang Qiang's mother's heart skipped a beat. Looking at Su Erge's seemingly gentle yet oppressive gaze, the words she wanted to say suddenly stuck in her throat. She instinctively avoided Su Erge's eyes, secretly regretting her greed.
Su Erge continued, "My Su family isn't easy to bully. If everyone takes a step back, the matter will be over. What do you say, Wang Qiang's mother?"
Wang Qiang's mother nodded quickly and said, "Yes, yes, Mr. Su, you are right. We were wrong to do this. Don't worry, it won't happen again."
Su Erge nodded in satisfaction, placed the gifts and money on the table, and then left Wang Qiang's house with Su Yao.
After thanking the village chief who had acted as the mediator, Su Erge sincerely said, "Village chief, we are truly grateful for your help this time, which is why things were resolved so smoothly. We, the Su siblings, will always remember this kindness." As he spoke, he handed some gifts he had prepared to the village chief.
The village chief quickly declined, saying, "Oh, Brother Su, this is what I should do. I've done my part to resolve this matter properly. I can't accept this gift."
Su Yao added, "Village Chief, please don't be so polite. If it weren't for your mediation, who knows how much this would have turned out. Please accept this; it's just a small token of our appreciation."
The village chief hesitated for a moment, but ultimately accepted the gift, saying, "Alright then, I'll accept it. From now on, let's all get along well and avoid any more conflicts."
Su Erge and Su Yao nodded repeatedly, thanked the village chief, and then left.
The village chief watched the departing Su siblings, his heart filled with emotion. He thought to himself: "The Su siblings are quite reasonable, especially the second brother, Su, who handled things decisively and efficiently, resolving this troublesome matter. However, Su Yao still needs to be properly disciplined, otherwise she might cause some more trouble in the future."
After Su Erge and Su Yao left the village chief's house, Su Erge said to Su Yao with a serious expression, "Go apologize to Lin Qian later. For all the stupid things you did for her, make amends properly and don't do anything like that again."
Su Yao was extremely unwilling. She muttered to herself, "It was clearly that vixen Lin Qian who seduced Zhao Yu, why should I apologize to her!" But seeing her second brother's increasingly cold gaze, she swallowed the words that were on the tip of her tongue.
Su Erge stared silently at Su Yao, the chill in his eyes making her feel as if she had fallen into an ice cave. It was as if something was tightly gripping her throat, and she couldn't utter a single word. Finally, Su Yao dejectedly replied, "I understand, Erge."
The two then arrived at Lin Qian's house. Su Yao stood at the door, her steps hesitant, her resistance growing stronger. Su's second brother glanced at her, his eyes carrying an undeniable air of authority. Helpless, Su Yao took a deep breath and knocked on Lin Qian's door.
003, who had been keeping a close eye on the Su siblings, hurriedly reported to Lin Qian: "Host, the Su siblings are coming this way, and they seem to be quite serious."
Lin Qian frowned, pondering their intentions, and casually replied, "Understood, 003."
