Just as she finished speaking, there was a rapid knocking at the door. Lin Qian took a deep breath, composed herself, and slowly opened the door. Seeing the Su siblings standing at the door, a hint of doubt flashed in her eyes, but she still stepped aside to let them into the house.
After entering the house, Lin Qian sat down in a chair, looked calmly at the Su siblings, and said indifferently, "What do you want with me?"
Su Erge spoke first, with a hint of apology on his face: "Comrade Lin Qian, my brother and I are here today to apologize to you for what Yao Yao did before."
Su Yao stood to the side, head down, her fingers tightly twisting the hem of her clothes. She dared not look Lin Qian in the eye and said in a trembling voice, "Lin Qian, I'm sorry... I know I did a lot of wrong things before and hurt you. I really regret it." As she spoke, her eyes gradually reddened, and tears welled up in them.
Lin Qian looked at Su Yao expressionlessly, without making any response.
Su Erge also quietly watched Lin Qian, trying to guess her thoughts from her expression.
Su Yao turned to look at her second brother, but seeing that he didn't give any indication, she became even more nervous. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down, then stepped forward, bent down, and said sincerely, "Lin Qian, I really know I was wrong. I shouldn't have been jealous of you, shouldn't have plotted against you, and even less should I have used those despicable means to deal with you. I truly realize my mistakes now, and I hope you can forgive me." As she said this, tears finally streamed down her face, dripping onto the ground.
Lin Qian remained silent, only staring coldly at Su Yao.
After a while, Lin Qian slowly said, "I have only one request: you have to tell me everything you did to me, one by one, in front of Zhao Yu and everyone at the educated youth settlement, and then apologize to me. Then I will forgive you."
Upon hearing this, Su Yao's face turned deathly pale. She couldn't accept that Zhao Yu knew about her dark secrets. She abruptly raised her head, glaring fiercely at Lin Qian, her eyes filled with anger and resentment. But quickly, she lowered her head again, concealing her emotions.
At this moment, Su Erge raised his eyes and looked at Lin Qian. His gaze was deep and complex, making it difficult to fathom his thoughts.
Lin Qian looked at Su Erge without flinching, her eyes filled with determination and resolve.
Su Erge was silent for a moment, then said, "Comrade Lin Qian, I understand your request, and I will definitely give you a satisfactory reply." As he spoke, his expression was serious, and his tone revealed an unquestionable determination.
Lin Qian sneered and said, "I hope you can keep your word, Second Brother Su."
Su Erge nodded slightly and said, "I will. I will arrange this as soon as possible."
Su Yao was trembling with anger, but she dared not disobey her second brother's wishes. She could only glare fiercely at Lin Qian, her teeth grinding together.
After Su Erge finished speaking, the air in the room seemed to freeze, falling into a brief silence. Lin Qian stared coldly at Su Yao, her gaze seemingly capable of freezing one, her lips slightly downturned, revealing a hint of disdain. Su Yao, on the other hand, kept her head down, her body trembling slightly, like a frightened deer, not daring to meet Lin Qian's eyes. Her fingers unconsciously twisted the hem of her clothes, revealing her extreme unease.
After a while, Su Erge broke the silence first: "Comrade Lin Qian, since we've come this far, we'll head back now. I'll let you know once I've arranged what you mentioned." With that, he glanced at Su Yao with a complicated expression and nodded slightly, signaling her to leave together.
Reluctantly, Su Yao followed her second brother towards the door. When they reached the door, she couldn't help but turn back and glare fiercely at Lin Qian, her eyes filled with resentment and bitterness. She muttered under her breath, "Don't be so smug, this isn't over yet." Her teeth were clenched, and her cheeks puffed out slightly.
Lin Qian naturally heard Su Yao's words. She sneered, her eyes filled with mockery: "I'll wait and see what tricks you can pull." She leaned back slightly in her chair, displaying an attitude of complete fearlessness.
After the Su siblings left, Lin Qian sat in a chair, her eyes somewhat vacant, lost in thought. She knew this matter wouldn't end so easily; Su Yao certainly wouldn't be willing to admit her mistake in public. Although her second brother had agreed to her request, she was still unsure whether he would truly do as she said.
"003, do you think they'll really comply?" Lin Qian asked herself, her brows furrowing slightly, revealing her worry.
"That's hard to say, host. But judging from Su Erge's expression, he seems to be serious, but Su Yao definitely won't compromise easily," 003 replied, its voice echoing in Lin Qian's mind.
"Hmph, no matter what tricks they play, I'm not afraid," Lin Qian said firmly, her fists clenching unconsciously as if she were cheering herself on.
Meanwhile, after the Su siblings returned to their residence, Su Yao's emotions completely erupted. She plopped down in a chair and complained to her second brother, "Second brother, why did you agree to her outrageous request? I don't want to lose face in front of Zhao Yu and those educated youths!" Her voice was sharp and shrill, and her face was full of anger.
Su Erge frowned, his expression turning serious. He looked at Su Yao and said sternly, "Yao Yao, you were the one who made the mistake this time. If we don't do as Lin Qian asks, this matter will only escalate, and it will be bad for the reputation of our Su family." His eyes revealed an unwavering determination.
