Chapter 64 Unwavering Love (Part 8)

Seeing Nan Lan and Ah Xuan massaging the elderly person's legs, they clumsily started massaging their parents' legs as well.

When Shen Wangshu saw this scene, his gaze softened considerably.

She took two more cans of food from the car and handed them to the two children.

The two children hadn't eaten meat in a long time. They swallowed hard, but lowered their heads and refused.

"These are the last two boxes. We'll be at the base soon, so let's have a good meal." Shen Wangshu certainly didn't want to seem like she was being taken advantage of because of the abundant supplies, so she simply explained with a smile. She saw both families blush and decline, but when they couldn't refuse, they looked at the child with pity. One family sighed, "Brother Ning doesn't need anything, so I'll just offer him this." He took out a few crystal cores from his pocket and said, "I found these by chance a few days ago. Miss Ning said they were useful, but not for us. Consider this our way of thanking you."

Although there weren't many crystal cores, Shen Wangshu still managed to get them.

The two cans of food were opened, and the two families gathered together to enjoy the delicious meal.

They ate voraciously, but Shen Wangshu didn't find it funny at all.

Without Ah Xuan, without Nan Lan, without the space, her image wouldn't be much better when she's eating canned food.

She smiled as she watched the parents of both families give more meat to their children, while the two children stuffed the meat into their parents' mouths. She felt that the world was not so dark that people could not see the road ahead.

When she sees these ordinary people, she feels a sense of hope.

Even in dire straits, the beauty in the hearts of most people will not be extinguished.

She smiled, treating the steamed bun as a free gift, and received genuine gratitude before returning to Nan Lan's side. The short-haired, neat woman was silently watching her, showing no displeasure at being offered food; on the contrary, her gaze softened.

She had already let go of Ning's mother and started eating. After a pause, she whispered, "This is the real you...." She mumbled the words, then gently ruffled Shen Wangshu's soft, long hair, a genuine smile on her face. Seeing Shen Wangshu's bright and happy face after helping others reminded her of her former self.

A female student, driven to desperation by debt, was almost forced to drop out of school and become a hostess, but at the last moment before she was trapped in the mire, she was pulled out by a pair of soft but clean hands.

The Ning family gave her a different life, changing her destiny.

They saved her, as if it were the least they could do, just like they were smiling so cleanly now.

There was no condescending charity, only help taken for granted, as if she were already her family.

Nan Lan couldn't help but smile.

Ah Guang usually showed a jealous expression towards Shen Wangshu, but at this moment he sat quietly next to Nan Lan.

He looked down at Nan Lan's somewhat rough hands hanging on the ground, tensed up for a moment, and rubbed his fingers together.

Just as his fingers were about to hook onto Nan Lan's hand, he was suddenly stabbed from behind!

He was so frightened he almost jumped up. When he turned his head, he saw Ah Xuan grinning at him.

"Damn it!" The Lightbringer trembled with rage, glaring fiercely at the zombie that had ruined his plans.

The zombies ignored him. He saw a stranger, a tall figure hiding behind the boy's thin body, threatening him to cover him. He secretly tugged at Shen Wangshu's clothes and saw her turn around and nod to him. Ah Xuan was immediately excited.

He darted into a nearby field, and Shen Wangshu saw the plants sway before the zombie vanished in the blink of an eye. She never stopped the zombies from running wild, especially since Ah Xuan wasn't around, reducing the chances of them being exposed. Seeing that the two families were exhausted, she took them back to their car to rest.

Since Nan Lan and A Guang are on guard anyway, they don't need to be alert.

Seeing Ah Xuan leave happily, Ah Guang was also jealous. He bit his lip and hesitated to speak to Nan Lan.

"Don't wander off." Ah Guang isn't Ah Xuan. Ah Xuan is a zombie, not afraid of those man-eating monsters that are always around. Even if Ah Guang is a superhuman, one wrong bite and he's done for. Nan Lan stopped him and was just getting up and walking around a bit, wanting to discuss with Shen Wangshu again what to do at the Rising Sun Base, when she heard intense gunfire and the loud roar of vehicles coming from the fields in the distance.

Flames soared into the sky in the distance, and various supernatural abilities flew through the air, clearly indicating that there were supernatural beings fighting.

Shen Wangshu's expression changed slightly as she looked at the traces of the fierce battle and asked anxiously, "Where is Ah Xuan?!"

She was worried that those superhumans were going to deal with Ah Xuan.

She rushed toward the field, only to hear a surprised and puzzled voice coming from that direction, after which the gunshots and supernatural powers dissipated.

A short while later, a nimble figure darted out from the weeds and leaped in front of Shen Wangshu.

When Shen Wangshu saw Ah Xuan appear in front of her unharmed, a relieved expression appeared on her face, but she couldn't help but rush over and hug Ah Xuan's strong waist.

When she thought Ah Xuan was about to be killed, her heart almost stopped.

Seemingly sensing Shen Wangshu's lingering fear, the zombie lowered its head, poked her face, and let out a comforting growl.

“This…” A somewhat deep voice suddenly came from behind Ah Xuan. Shen Wangshu subconsciously looked over and saw a handsome man with black hair and black eyes, dressed in a neat suit, walking over hesitantly.

Shen Wangshu paused slightly after her gaze fell on the man.

...This man's face is strikingly similar to her husband Shen Xuan from her previous life.

However, this man was clearly not related to Ah Xuan. Shen Wangshu did not feel any excitement when she saw him, so it was probably just that they looked alike.

She lost interest in him, turned her head away, and pressed Ah Xuan's head against her neck, not allowing him to show any unusual behavior.

The zombie grunted twice, happily perched on Shen Wangshu's shoulder, and licked her neck. After licking for a while, it suddenly turned its head and looked at the man through Shen Wangshu's hair.

He felt that the man looked familiar.

He thought about it carefully and then flew into a rage.

Isn't this the man who was holding Shen Wangshu in the scene he saw before?

How dare they steal Shushu from a zombie...

We must eat him!
