"Hello, my name is Bai Da (Er), and I am their (biological) brother."
This overly familiar enthusiasm stunned both Xiang Wan and Bai San.
Are these the same two orcs they knew?
As the flames drew closer, Bai Niu silently stood behind Bai Da and Bai Er, his face ashen.
What a terrible way to raise a child! He's so enthusiastic about a foreign orc. Didn't he teach them not to associate with people from other races?
And those two bastards, the third and youngest, both brought the person back directly. If you say there's nothing between them, I'd never believe it even if you beat me to death.
It's also his own fault; he's been too lenient with them. He hasn't emphasized enough the importance of not allowing interactions between different races.
When he looked up again, two glowing green beast eyes stared straight at him, almost making the white ox drop the torch in his hand.
His heart trembled slightly, but he knew he couldn't lose face if his own four children weren't afraid. So he kept a straight face without any change in expression.
The orcs who followed were a different story. Upon suddenly seeing the saber-toothed leopard, the younger ones were so frightened that their legs went weak. Several orcs who considered themselves mature, like the white bull, kept their composure and pretended to be strong.
Seeing that people had gathered around, Xiang Wan couldn't let them keep surrounding her, so she immediately stood up, and Hu Lai followed suit.
“Father, uncles, this is Hu Lai, over there is Shi Cong, and Hu Bao, they all want to join our hunting team.”
After saying that, Xiang Wan glared at Bai San, signaling him to stop standing there and speak up.
Bai San pushed Shi Cong in front of him and said in a deep voice, "Shi Cong hunted a walrus, but it's too big to move. He came back with us on special occasion. We'll all go together tomorrow and take as much as we can."
Upon hearing this, the experienced hunters' eyes lit up. They exchanged glances, then all turned their attention to the polar bear. What a windfall! If it could help their people get through the winter, they weren't so opposed to taking in a stranger.
The polar bear wore a bitter expression, deeply resenting his position as the leader. Everyone was pushing the blame onto him. What if this person was here to slaughter the fox clan? If something went wrong, it would all be his responsibility. He wasn't that stupid; if anyone was going to take responsibility, it should be shared. They were all from the same clan; there was nothing to be ashamed of. However, it seemed to have been caused by the white ox's family; surely they should vote on how to deal with it first.
"Brother Niu, what do you think?"
The polar bear acted like it was your own business, and you could make your own decisions. This infuriated the white bull: his son was capable enough to bring back good news that the whole tribe could survive the winter, yet he wanted him to bear the blame for associating with other tribes? How dare he?
"You're the team leader, you're in charge."
The ball was tossed back to the ball, and the polar bear licked his lips, saying to everyone, "If no one has any objections, then it's settled."
It's settled? Settled about what?
Everyone was confused, but seeing the white bear nod, they all nodded in agreement. The matter of Shi Cong and Hu Lai joining the fox clan hunting team was thus approved.
