Chapter 178 The Cannon Fodder Special Police Officer's Husband-Catching Adventure 11

After Sui Yi ordered, Lou Yan called over the waiter and handed him the menu.

Sui Yi tugged at his sleeve, gesturing for him to look over.

"What's wrong?" Lou Yan asked gently.

"Isn't it a bit inappropriate to just hand the menu to the waiter like that... What if your other friends have other ideas?" Suiyi said softly.

"Don't worry, they won't cause any problems. Even if there are any, they won't say anything with me here. Even if I'm not around, if anything goes wrong, just go to them." The man spoke with utmost seriousness, as if he were introducing Sui Yi to his friends so that she could seek their help in case of any future troubles. He was making plans for Sui Yi's future.

Watching the interaction between the two, their older brother wore a look of relief. His younger brother had finally overcome his hardships and started his own family. After living a life of constant danger, he now found warmth from the depths of his heart. He believed that she would no longer recklessly choose the most dangerous path, but would consider various factors. After all, being married and not being married are completely different concepts.

Since I met him, I've never seen him truly smile. He lives a very hectic life. It's taken him so many years of hard work to get to where he is today; it's no easy feat. Now that someone is by his side, I feel at ease.

"Haha, I knew it! People are definitely different when they're married than when they're single. Look at our little brother, before he got married, when we ever had such a gentle, soothing voice at our gatherings," the man teased.

As soon as he finished speaking, Lou Yan's body suddenly stiffened. Had his current behavior really changed so much? He felt unusually uncertain. Perhaps because he was the one experiencing it, the direct feeling wasn't so significant. But to outsiders, the change was truly enormous. He turned to look at the woman sitting beside him, quietly drinking juice, and a sense of contentment welled up inside him. This was probably what peaceful and serene life meant. These days didn't seem so bad after all.

But a lingering doubt remained. Why hadn't she felt this way in the three days leading up to the wedding? It was only after that fight that her change. Her body was still the same, but the core within it seemed different. Yet, this change felt natural. She seemed content to continue like this. If she could attract and influence her even more, perhaps she could choose to withdraw from this unknown path.

He smiled suddenly and unconsciously shook his head. No one can predict the future; it's too early to talk about these things now!

The service at this private restaurant was exceptionally good, and everyone was curious about what she had ordered. The waiters brought the dishes over one by one.

Good heavens! This must be an all-meat feast. Every plate has meat on it. And the dishes are presented very elegantly.

"Hehe. I didn't expect my sister-in-law to be such a meat lover. It's really impressive that she can maintain such a great figure." A woman swallowed hard, looking at the dishes. What low-fat option should she choose later?

"Maintaining my figure? No way. I do really love eating meat. But I don't know where it all goes after I eat it. One good thing is, though, is that I don't get fat." The original owner of this body was the type with strong bones and muscles; she could eat as much as she wanted without gaining weight. Sui Yi probably doesn't know that. This has unwittingly attracted a lot of resentment. Many women envy and are jealous of her physique.

It's well known that obesity is a common enemy among women. Gaining even a pound or two is unusual. Imagine eating so much meat—how many pounds would you gain? And it's hard to imagine yourself as a chubby woman. Just thinking about it makes one shudder.

Sui Yi was bewildered but impressed, noticing the astonished looks the women were giving her. They probably hadn't seen a girl who loved meat so much. But there was nothing she could do about it. In her previous world, she had truly suffered a great deal. The most abhorrent thing was seeing human delicacies without any desire to eat, finding the food tasteless and unappetizing.

Now that I'm a human, I absolutely mustn't mistreat myself. Eat well, dress well, and have fun.

Lou Yan asked the waiter to bring two cases of beer. They had originally planned to drink until they were completely drunk. However, considering their loved ones were present, they couldn't indulge themselves. Indulging themselves with their own family would only add to their wives' burdens.

But the women didn't think that way. Since it was a rare occasion for everyone to get together, they wanted to have a good time. So they ordered a few more bottles of expensive wine, which were quite strong.

Everyone held a glass of wine and toasted together.

So after finishing the wine in her glass in one gulp, she picked up the bottle and was about to pour more when Lou Yan stopped her hand.

"Eat something first to fill your stomach before drinking. Otherwise you'll feel unwell later. This wine has a high alcohol content and is the kind that has a strong aftereffect."

"It's alright. You probably don't know I can drink a lot without getting drunk." But this wasn't convincing at all, because her face was already smudged with rouge.

Lou Yan shook his head, took her bowl, put on disposable plastic gloves, and resignedly peeled shrimp and served her food, filling the bowl to the brim.

The women around him were filled with envy, turning to look at their husbands. The men, on the other hand, glared at Lou Yan helplessly, then resignedly peeled shrimp for the women.

Before she knew it, Suiyi had already drunk three cups of wine. She kept saying that she was someone who could drink a thousand cups without getting drunk, but at this moment she had obviously forgotten that this body was not her own, and that this body had never been in contact with alcohol before, so she could basically be considered someone who could only drink one cup.

After only three glasses of wine, her eyes began to squint, and her head swayed unsteadily. She seemed to see many people flashing before her eyes. Dazed, she turned her head to look at her husband, Lou Yan.

"Hey? Lou Yan, do you know Sun Wukong's 72 Transformations? It seems like you have so many heads! You're even more powerful than Nezha. Nezha has three heads and six arms, but look at yours, how many heads and arms do you have?"

"Sweetie, you're drunk. Let's not drink anymore, let's eat some shrimp, these are peeled."

"Mmm!" Suiyi grabbed the bowl in front of her, reached her paws inside, and stuffed it into her mouth.

Looking helpless, all he could do was coax her and encourage her to eat more so she wouldn't feel unwell.

After that meal, the men didn't drink much. They only occasionally toasted each other. The women drank the most, and they were all staggering around.
