Ning Yuze pretended not to notice her embarrassment and glanced sideways, saying, "Aren't you going to help me get it?"
Shi Lan glanced at the fruit plate that was only half a foot away from him, jumped off the bed, grabbed the cup, rudely handed it to him, poured out the medicine, and hurriedly stuffed it into his hand.
"Take your medicine first."
Ning Yuze smiled and obediently put the "medicine" in his mouth and raised his arm to drink water.
Shi Lan had been stealing glances at him. When she saw him put down his water glass, she quickly grabbed a juicy pear and tossed it to him. Taking advantage of the moment when his attention was diverted, she hurriedly got up and snapped the light off.
Darkness suddenly enveloped the room, and Ning Yuze had just caught it when everything went black.
"How am I supposed to eat this?"
Following her memory, Shi Lan leaned to the side and nestled into the sofa, burying her face in the soft fabric. She mumbled, "Eating in the dark won't stop me, as long as I don't put it up my nose."
Hearing the muffled reply, Ning Yuze smiled faintly, stretched out his long arm, placed the small pear into the fruit plate, pulled the quilt up, and closed his eyes.
The room was quiet. Shi Lan lay on the sofa and waited for a while. She heard breathing not far away and wondered if he was really asleep, but she didn't have the courage to go over.
In the middle of the night, Shi Lan was somewhat drowsy, and the occasional painful groans in her ears prevented her from falling asleep.
She opened her eyes impatiently and, by the moonlight, saw that Ning Yuze was sleeping very restlessly on the small bed.
Shi Lan quickly got up and turned on the light, only to find that Ning Yuze's face was flushed and sweat was trickling down his temples.
