Linghu Lan raised her magic wand high, and a bright light, like a dome, enveloped the Rose Queen and the twelve witches, shielding the numerous guards outside.
The twelve witches fell silent: the strange magic book seemed to have granted her magical powers.
The guards stared in horror at the colorful dome before them. No weapon could break it. They opened their mouths and shouted, but their voices were like those of a mute, and none of their sounds could penetrate the dome.
Linghu Lan walked up to the Rose Queen and looked around at the witches.
"I want to enter the ruined palace, is there any way to do that?"
The Rose Queen's face contorted in horror: "That's a cursed place! You can't possibly bring Princess Rose out here!"
"Why?" Linghu Lan looked calmly at the Rose Queen. "Why are you so afraid of that place?"
The Rose Queen took a step back. "I'm not afraid there!"
"Alright, you'll come with me!" Linghu Lan grabbed the Rose Queen and walked out.
A witch hurriedly stopped her. "Wait, even if you are the most powerful wizard in the world, you cannot enter the ruined palace. The thorns there take a hundred years to bloom, and the day they bloom is the day Princess Rose is resurrected. Otherwise, the thorns are as hard as iron, and nothing can open them."
“We did not deceive you. You have already tried it. Although I planted the thorn seed, I only obtained it by chance and cannot control it. You took Her Majesty the Queen there to take her life.”
Linghu Lan stopped in her tracks, and the witches breathed a slight sigh of relief. They looked at Linghu Lan, and she said, "Do you have any chili powder? The more the better!"
The witches: "..."
...
At Linghu Lan's insistence, and amidst the bewildered gazes of the witches, the Rose Queen issued an order to collect chili powder throughout the country.
Soon, the palace guards brought a whole cart full of chili powder to the front of the palace.
Linghu Lan, accompanied by the Rose Queen and a entourage of guards, arrived at the abandoned palace in a grand procession carrying a cart full of chili powder.
The fence was moved.
The thorns sensed the arrival of the group and waved their leaves somewhat uneasily.
They said, "That poisonous witch is back again!"
How can we eat her?
Linghu Lan found it somewhat amusing to listen to what the thorns were saying.
She looked at the Rose Queen and chuckled softly, "Your Majesty, please!"
The thorns tentatively lashed out, and the Rose Queen couldn't help but shrink back, causing everyone to scream.
Linghu Lan used her dagger to cut through the thorns, and casually tossed out a packet of chili powder, causing the thorns to immediately retract.
"Ah! Here we go again, she is the most wicked witch in the world."
Linghu Lan rushed forward, pulling the Rose Queen along with her. The tough thorns were about to wrap around her when Linghu Lan's dagger cut them in half.
"Your Majesty, if you don't want to die, remember to sprinkle more chili powder."
Chili powder!!!
A hint of disgust flashed in the Rose Queen's eyes, but now that she was standing in the middle of the thorns, the fear of her life overcame her aversion, and as another thorn rushed towards her, she quickly threw a handful away.
The thorns have receded.
Queen Rose followed Linghu Lan without daring to stop for even a moment.
And so, one of them chopped the thorns, while the other sprinkled chili powder.
They quickly passed through the city gate and entered the open space in the center of the palace.
There were no more thorns attacking them there.
Linghu Lan breathed a sigh of relief and praised, "Your Majesty, the chili powder was sprinkled very well!"
