When the two men saw the man's condition clearly, they couldn't help but gasp. As men, how could they not understand what the dried blood between the man's legs and on the ground meant?
Gu Moting and Duan Yuming looked at each other simultaneously and swallowed hard. No wonder Xingran (Xingran the girl) hesitated to speak; who could believe that the room was in such a state?
The two didn't stand there in a daze for long; not far ahead lay Doctor Huang. They walked over, and Gu Moting picked him up. "Uncle, Uncle, how are you?" Gu Moting asked, worried that his uncle hadn't responded.
"Master is fine. He's just exhausted and has inhaled a sleeping pill, causing him to fall into a coma." Su Xingran walked into the room from outside.
Hearing that he was unconscious, Gu Moting and Duan Yuming were relieved. "Moting, carry Uncle Huang out, I'll deal with this enemy lying on the ground."
The Japanese enemies inside the room were all tied up and taken to the open space outside the laboratory. The fire inside the laboratory had been extinguished. Only the clothes Su Xingran had thrown in burned; nothing else was affected.
The chemical technicians sent by the military have already entered the laboratory to conduct inspections. It's dark now, so it's not a good time to go down the mountain; we can only wait until dawn.
Huang Tai'an also entered the laboratory from outside, where guards remained at the entrance. He walked inside and was stunned to see twenty or thirty enemies. How had Mo Ting and his men captured so many people?
Seeing Huang Tai'an's expression, Duan Yuming knew what he was thinking. He walked over and patted him on the shoulder: "Surprised? There's more to come." After saying that, Duan Yuming left without another word and went to search other areas.
Huang Tai'an, who remained where he was, was completely bewildered. "What does this old Duan mean? He's only telling half the story, leaving us in suspense."
Huang Tai'an shook his head and stepped forward to join the team to help. He walked up to the enemies one by one and found it quite strange. Of the nearly thirty enemies, half of them were asleep.
When he reached the last enemy, he froze. He thought he was seeing things, so he rubbed his eyes and looked again. He was sure he wasn't hallucinating.
A man lay on the ground—oh, now it's hard to even call him a man anymore. He'd clearly been cut in the groin. Huang Tai'an shuddered. Who could be so cruel?
“Brother Tai’an, what are you spacing out for? Send two of your men back to inform the people guarding the village to search the Zhang family’s house and get evidence.” Gu Moting’s voice startled Huang Tai’an from his daze.
"Mo Ting, what's going on with this person lying on the ground? Who did this in such a strange way?" Huang Tai'an asked, looking on with curiosity.
"Ahem, you know Brother Tai'an too. I need to check the surrounding area. You go and inform your people." Gu Moting walked away in a flash, unable to say that Xing Ran was behind it.
Dr. Huang lay on the floor, which was padded with a blanket, and slowly opened his eyelids. The light overhead was too bright for him, so he closed his eyes again. Suddenly remembering something, he opened his eyes again and struggled to sit up.
"Xingran, Xingran, where are you? It's all your fault for being useless. Your master has ruined you." Perhaps the effects of the sleeping potion hadn't worn off yet, as Doctor Huang was still drowsy and couldn't see his surroundings clearly.
Duan Yuming and the others just watched as Doctor Huang got up from the ground and started frantically calling out to Xingran, "Xingran, little girl," and crying.
