Chapter 146 Farewell, Departure for Beijing (1/2)

The next day, Su's parents got up at four in the morning to make breakfast. They made meat buns and boiled eggs for Su Xingran and the others to take on the train. They also made dumplings for Su Xingran and Dr. Huang.

The train tickets are for 11:00 AM, and it takes about two hours to get from Sujia Village to the train station. Su Xingran and her group need to set off around 8:00 AM.

Su Xingran got up around 6:30 a.m. Her luggage had been packed the night before. There wasn't much luggage, just some clothes, and she put books and other personal items directly into her spatial storage.

"Good morning, Dad and Mom. Did you get up very early?" Su Xingran heard clanging sounds coming from the kitchen as she walked out of her room.

Mr. and Mrs. Su, who were busy with their work, turned around when they heard the voice. "Ranran, get up! Your father and mother are cooking dumplings. They'll be ready to eat soon. Hurry up and wash up so you can come and eat dumplings."

Su Xingran hurriedly went to wash up. When she returned to the main room, her mother had already placed the dumplings on the table. "Ranran, come and eat dumplings. Your father took some to your master and Uncle Duan."

"Dumplings before boarding, noodles upon disembarking. Ranran, this is your favorite boiled dumplings. Eat more and make sure you're full. Mom will go to the kitchen to see if the steamed buns are ready."

As Su's mother stood up and turned around, tears streamed down her face. The thought of not seeing her daughter for so long felt like a knife to her heart. Not wanting her daughter to see her crying, she made an excuse to go into the kitchen.

As her mother turned to leave, Su Xingran lowered her head, scooped up a dumpling with a spoon, and took a bite. Tears streamed down Su Xingran's face, dripping into the dumpling soup. She knew her mother had made an excuse to go to the kitchen; the fire on the stove had already gone out, leaving only charcoal from the burnt firewood.

The dumplings and soup, mingled with her tears, were eaten clean by Su Xingran. This was her last breakfast at home for the next few months.

Around eight o'clock, Huang Tai'an drove to Su Xingran's house. Dr. Huang and Duan Yuming were already in the car, and Su's father helped put the luggage in.

Su's mother carried a bag and walked up to Su Xingran. "Ranran, this is meat buns and boiled eggs that your father and I have packed for you, your master, and Uncle Duan. If you want to eat them on the train, just heat them up with hot water."

"Be careful on your journey. Take good care of yourself when you get to Beijing, and listen to your master and the others. Be careful at school and don't let anyone bully you," Su's mother said, her eyes red as she stroked Su Xingran's back.

Su Xingran, her eyes also red, said, "Mother, I understand. I'll let you know I'm safe when I arrive. I'll take good care of myself, so please don't worry about me, Father."

"Father, you must take good care of yourself and Mother. You and Mother both need to take care of your health." Su Xingran's voice was trembling with tears.

"Ranran, get in the car quickly! It's getting late." Su's mother wiped her eyes and forced a smile.

Su's father walked up to Dr. Huang and said, "Uncle Huang, thank you for taking care of Ranran. If she does anything wrong, please feel free to discipline her."

Dr. Huang patted Su's father on the shoulder, "Guomin, you and Huilan don't need to worry. I will take good care of Xingran and won't let her suffer any grievances or be bullied."

Su Xingran reluctantly got into the car, looking at her parents standing outside. Her heart ached terribly, and as the car started moving, tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.

As Su's mother watched the car drive away, she couldn't stop crying, going from silent tears to loud sobs.
