The first day of school didn't involve any lessons, and the morning passed quickly. Su Xingran ate lunch in the cafeteria, which offered a wide variety of dishes. She ordered a bowl of shredded pork noodles.
After lunch, Su Xingran returned to her dormitory, where all her classmates had already returned. "Hello, Su Xingran, my name is Guan Xiao."
Su Xingran recognized her; there were only eight female students in the class, and they all lived in this dormitory. "Hello, Guan Xiao."
Once someone started, the other girls came over to say hello, get to know each other, and introduce themselves.
“Su Xingran, are you from Shitou Town in Jilin Province? I saw a top liberal arts student in the newspaper with the same name and a photo that looks very similar to yours.”
The one who asked the question was Guan Xiao. When she saw Su Xingran in the classroom that morning, she felt that she looked familiar and that she looked very much like a female liberal arts champion she had seen in the newspaper.
"I'm from Shitou Town, Jilin Province. The person with the same name you saw is me." Su Xingran knew that she was in the newspaper and that some of her classmates would definitely see it, so she readily admitted it.
"We actually have a female academic genius in our dorm!" The girl with short hair and a baby face, named Chen Linlin, said excitedly.
Su Xingran looked at her with a smile in her eyes. Chen Linlin looked the same type as Deng Wenwen. She was cute and had a sweet voice.
"Xingran, you were the top scorer in the liberal arts, so why did you choose Traditional Chinese Medicine as your major?" Guan Xiao asked with some confusion.
Not only was Guan Xiao puzzled, but the other girls in the dormitory were also confused. How could a top liberal arts student choose to study traditional Chinese medicine?
Su Xingran knew it was normal for them to have doubts; what family's top liberal arts student would choose the unpopular field of traditional Chinese medicine as their major?
“I have been studying medicine for several years and I am quite interested in traditional Chinese medicine. When the college entrance examination was reinstated, I was admitted to Peking University and learned that Peking University had a department of traditional Chinese medicine. I chose it when I was choosing my major.”
"Wow, it seems we're all the same. My dad was the village's barefoot doctor. He always hoped I could take his place and become a doctor too. When I was choosing a major in college, I knew there was a Traditional Chinese Medicine department, so I chose it directly."
"It's the same. We all chose to study Traditional Chinese Medicine because our elders in the family are doctors. There are only eight girls in our class studying Traditional Chinese Medicine; the rest are boys."
Several girls started discussing it in the dormitory, and in this way, the distance between the people who were originally strangers gradually narrowed.
Su Xingran was relieved to see that her roommates were all easy-going and open-minded girls. She wasn't good at initiating interactions with people. Having encountered too many difficult people, Su Xingran was extremely averse to trouble, and she hoped her university life would be peaceful and uneventful.
“Siyun, we’ve found out some information. The woman who was with Gu Moli’s sister-in-law the other day as a bridesmaid is named Su Xingran. She’s from Beijing, studying at a university, and she’s from the same place as Gu Moli’s sister-in-law.”
"Hmph, these two women are actually from the same place. No wonder, the older one seduced Brother Mo Ting, and the younger one also wanted to seduce Mo Li."
"I heard that the woman surnamed Xiao also got into Peking University. She stole Brother Mo Ting and made my cousin so heartbroken. That woman surnamed Su tried to seduce Mo Li. I have to teach them a lesson and make them pay the price."
A girl spoke with anger and malice in her eyes. This girl was Zhou Siyun, a child of the Zhou family in Beijing. The Zhou and Gu families were old friends, and the Zhou family intended to arrange a marriage between them; however, the Gu family would never force their own children.
Su Xingran sneezed twice and rubbed her nose. "Why am I sneezing all of a sudden? I'm dressed warmly enough. Did someone mention me?"
