"Which of you two can explain the situation?" Two police officers, a man and a woman, walked up to Su Xingran and Xiao Xue and asked.
Su Xingran glanced at Xiao Xue and noticed that her complexion hadn't fully recovered. "Let me do it! Officers, could you please get me a glass of warm water?"
Upon hearing Su Xingran's request, the policewoman silently stood up and poured her a glass of warm water. Su Xingran took the glass, said "thank you," and handed it to Xiao Xue.
"My name is Su Xingran, a freshman at Peking University. Her name is Xiao Xue, and she is from the same university as me. We were out shopping after class when I noticed someone following us. After observing them several times, I confirmed that they were indeed tailing us."
“We walked into the alley, and those people rushed over to surround us. They told us to go with them. I asked them if someone had ordered them to arrest us, and they said we had offended someone we shouldn’t have.”
“We didn’t want to go with them, so they tried to arrest us. I’ve been practicing martial arts with my family for several years, and they were four against one, determined to take us away. We had no choice but to fight back; we couldn’t let them have a chance to take us away.”
"Officers, you should understand what would happen to a girl who was taken away by these thugs. Anyway, they were outmatched, and I successfully fought back. That's how it started, what happened, and how it ended," Su Xingran said innocently.
The male police officer taking the statement looked somewhat uneasy. They had just checked the injuries on the four men.
Two men had broken hands, one of them also had a knife wound, and their facial injuries were horrific. One man had a broken nose and his face was covered in blood. The last one's lower body was likely ruined; his face was a mangled mess.
It's no wonder they were speechless; fighting back to protect themselves is perfectly normal, and they agreed with that. But this counterattack was too powerful; it practically crippled them.
The girl who took on four opponents looked quite young. Apart from a few injuries on the corner of her mouth, there were no other obvious marks on her face.
"Ahem... Um... Su, your counterattack was a bit too strong. You should be more careful with your strength in the future. If you accidentally knock someone out, that would be a real problem."
These words were spoken by the male police officer, while the female police officer sitting next to him looked at Su Xingran with admiration in her eyes.
"Su, there's something we need to confirm. One of the suspects has a knife wound. Could you help us with that?"
When Xiao Xue heard the police ask about the knife, she instinctively answered, fearing the police would blame Su Xingran.
“It was me, I stabbed that person. He grabbed Xingran by the collar of her coat and dragged her backward forcefully. Xingran had to deal with the people attacking her in front, and she was being pulled back by someone. I was anxious when I saw this, and in my anxiety, I picked up the knife and stabbed the man.”
The two policemen exchanged a glance. "Comrade Xiao, where did you get your knife? And why are you carrying it with you?"
Before Xiao Xue could answer, Su Xingran tugged at her arm, signaling her to stop talking.
“The knife is mine. I gave it to my sister-in-law to protect herself. She doesn’t know any martial arts, and I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to protect her if I fought, so I gave her the knife so that she could protect herself if her life was threatened.”
The police also saw Su Xingran pulling Xiao Xue. Although the two female students were victims, they had to follow the proper procedures.
