"Mo Li, Mo Li, wake up, wake up!" Shao Fei and another comrade called out anxiously to Gu Mo Li, who had fallen into a deep sleep.
In his drowsy state, Gu Moli seemed to hear someone calling him, and he slightly opened his eyes. By the light of the flashlight, Gu Moli could see who had called him.
"Mo Li, it's so good that you're awake. Zhang He and I were both shocked by you," Shao Fei said, his eyes red and his voice trembling.
When Shao Fei and Zhang He saw Gu Moli lying motionless on the ground, their hearts jumped and they rushed towards him. Shao Fei knelt down on one knee and called out to Gu Moli several times, but there was no response.
Remembering that Gu Moli had been shot twice, Shao Fei trembled as he placed his finger under Gu Moli's nostril. Confirming a warm breath on his finger, a slight smile appeared on his lips – thankfully, Gu Moli was alive.
The joy of Gu Moli being alive overwhelmed Shao Fei and Zhang He, but seeing Gu Moli unconscious, they became tense again.
The two kept calling Gu Moli's name, trying to wake him up. Fortunately, Gu Moli slowly opened his eyes and even gave them a slight smile.
"Mo Li, are you feeling unwell anywhere after being shot?" Shao Fei asked, staring intently at Gu Mo Li's face.
Gu Moli is in pain all over his body, especially the area in his abdomen where he was slashed by a knife, and the area in his back where he was shot.
"Shao Fei, Zhang He," Gu Moli called softly, pointing to his abdomen.
Following Gu Moli's gesture, Shao Fei shone his flashlight over. Upon seeing this, both Shao Fei and Zhang He clenched their fists. There was a hole in Gu Moli's shirt, and a ripped tear.
A tear in his clothes revealed a wound on his abdomen, estimated to be over ten centimeters long, from which dark red blood was flowing. Shao Fei and Zhang He then realized that Gu Moli had also been shot in the abdomen, which had been slashed open by a knife.
"Mo Li, we'll take you to find the army doctor. He's with the third squad. You must hold on and not close your eyes. The brothers are all waiting for you to come back."
Shao Fei noticed that although the gunshot wound on Gu Moli had stopped bleeding, there were still dark red bloodstains around it. The knife wound was still bleeding. He also had two other gunshot wounds in his back, and Shao Fei feared that Gu Moli would bleed to death.
Gu Moli's face was pale from excessive blood loss, and his lips were also white with wounds from where he had bitten himself in pain. He slowly moved his hand, trying to put it into his pocket to get something.
However, completely exhausted, Gu Moli tried several times but couldn't reach into her pocket. Shao Fei saw Gu Moli's movements and said, "Moli, are you trying to take something out of your pocket? I'll take it out for you, don't rush."
Shao Fei reached into Gu Moli's pocket and pulled out a bottle. "Moli, were you looking for this? I took it out."
"I...I fell...on my wound," Gu Moli said haltingly.
Shao Fei understood what Gu Moli meant. He opened the bottle and shone a flashlight inside. Shao Fei saw that it contained a powdery substance. He opened Gu Moli's clothes and poured the powder from the bottle onto the wound.
The wound, which was still bleeding, gradually stopped. This was the first time Shao Fei and Zhang He had ever seen a hemostatic powder that could stop bleeding so quickly.
Now is not the time to research hemostatic powder. What we need to do is take Gu Moli away, as well as that man lying unconscious on the ground.
"Zhang He, go back to your squad and get a few people to help. Also, find Mo Li's backpack and get his water bottle. We'll give him some water to drink."
